How to Get There
After a short ride from the airport, our group of six ladies celebrating a 60th birthday were met with cool, sweet smelling towels and drinks...nice way to check in! We had three rooms between the six of us with partial views of the ocean and the golfing grounds. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed.
Of course as an all-inclusive you can eat at multiple restaurants day and night. I enjoyed the kidneys and livers for breakfast at Fresh and the ox-tails at dinner. My cousins enjoyed the jerk pork/chicken, but I live in SoFlo with lots of options for Jamaican jerk so I opted for different things. We visited Luna Di Mare and Three Palms for dinner and during the day had burgers and patties at Mangoes along with non-stop strawberry daiquiris and Jim Beam whiskey. Basically, if you are staying for a few days try everything as you are sure to find something that will work for you.
This is certainly a family oriented resort, but I would say that the adults had more fun tubing in the 'lazy river' pool and on the slides than the kids. Folks were pretty relaxed around the swim up bar as you can imagine and we chatted with people from all over. It was super chilled and relaxed.
We booked a tour prior to arrival for the Luminous Lagoon and checked in at the tour desk and were given instructions on where to wait for pick-up. We also booked a tour to Bob Marley's birth/resting place at Nine Mile just one day before and the gentle lady at the tour desk worked out everything for us. On another day we grabbed a cab to head into town for shopping and two in our party took the free shuttle to the Rose Hall shops so you can move around off resort with help from staff. I very much appreciated the assist with last minute bookings.
If you prefer to stay on site, you have options such as kayaking (included) and snorkeling and glass bottom boat tours (for a reasonable fee). And for those that just want to veg out, head over to the water sports area because you can lay out in beach chairs or get a cabana and totally go to lala land!
Lastly, I want to say that the staff are what make this resort and your time on it amazing. They work really hard and go above and beyond and they really made us hard working gals feel like queens. I am terrible with names, but Tristants (check-in), Jermaine (waiter @ Mangoes), Donaldo (bartender @ Seaside/Mangoes), Tauh/Kauh (hostess @ Mangoes), and Mr. Lennox a superb professional in every way that will attend to any need that you have all were the absolute best! Thank you for making my cousin's 60th unforgettable!
We went here for a weeks rest, we certainly had one. The hotel is just 15 mins from the airport and we arrived to a great welcome from reception. A range of excellent restaurants and a bottle of wine complimentary in the room. The hotel is all inclusive. The staff have a very heavy hand and a big smile with some of the biggest gin and tonics I’ve had. The pool area is nice but can be a little noisy with some much pressure for pool games - no thanks. The main buffet restaurant was ok, a little like a canteen but great for breakfast. The seafood and pizza restaurants were good. Accommodation upgrade with a lovely sea view as Hilton diamond member. The restaurant on the golf course, romantic outdoors and nice wine list. Just really enjoyable and worth a trip
We came to Jamaica to celebrate my 40th bday and could not have imagined a better way to spend it. This is a large property and has everything you need so you dont need to go off of the resort unless you want to. There is a large variety of everything you need (restaurants bars, entertainment, etc) and never for 1 minute felt overcrowded. This was truly paradise and cant wait to go back!
