How to Get There
You only have one chance to make a first impression and the Fairmont Royal Pavilion does exactly that. As you turn into the tree lined drive , you immediately see the beauty of the property. The reception area and reception staff don’t disappoint either. .
We were looked after by Will Smith aka Peter Curtis , Edwin and Dawn as far as our rooms , bookings at restaurants etc but seeing them around all day was lovely.
The beautiful bedrooms all face the sea giving beautiful views all day long and as night falls the sunsets are stunning.
We spend our days lazing on the beach and by the pool and are looked after by the amazing staff from the beach , pool and bar. There are so many to mention and if I leave anyone out it is due to the jet lag fuzzy head. Simon , Ryan , michael x 2 , Nathan and of course the lovely Shane , provide us with a beautiful clean beach and pool area and provide towels under the watchful eye of delightful Harcourt One even brings me a flower every day and tells me all about it.. These people are all so helpful and desserts a huge thank you.
Jamal , Jason and the rest of the team made sure that we were hydrated all day and every day . Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are available . If you want cordon Bleu , it is not here BUT lovely simple ingredients cooked well and beautifully presented are what you get. The staff in restaurant are fantastic to and are far too many to mention but Pierce who has been there for so long will get a mention as every year he looks after us beautifully. There are so many people in the restaurant who we love to see every year and they all know who they are , but to mention them would be an insult to anyone that we leave out. Lovely lovely Crystal was not in much whilst we were there but we hope that we see much more of her next year
If I go on too much longer , it will be too much so I will finish by saying on our final evening we asked ourselves , if there was one thing that we could change about the RPV , what would it be. By then we were so chilled out that we couldn’t think of anything. I don’t think that there is anything.
If there was a vote for breakfast at Palm Terrace or Taboras , our vote would be TABORAS but that is us and I know that there are people who disagree !!
Thank you to all at #rpv once again . You all make a really fantastic team and that is what the #rpv is all about.
My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon at the Royal Pavilion and leaving to return home was quite difficult. The Fairmont is an outstanding property, in one of the worlds most beautiful settings, but it is the staff here that will make you want to return. From the moment we landed the staff at the Fairmont began to wow us. Ramon the driver who the hotel arranged for us was the best guide and driver we could have asked for. As soon as we checked in, we were greeted by Shacolby the concierge and Michael the front desk manager who both went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Ryan in the water sports department took us on an amazing sailing adventure two days in a row. Shontelle, Pearse, and Simon always making sure we were taken care of in the food and beverage department and the list goes on. The fact that I am able to mention all of these employees by name and remember vivid experiences with all of them should tell you everything you need to know about this property. We were truly blown away, and we both have been in the industry for many years ourselves. The newly renovated rooms were gorgeous each with a postcard view of platinum coast. Thank you to the Fairmont for making our honeymoon truly amazing. We will be back for sure!
Great location. About 40 mins from airport. Every room has ocean view. And you can’t get closer to the ocean from your room. The views are amazing. The sandy beach is so clean with soft sand. The water is warm and calm. You could float in the ocean all day. And you can count on two hands the number of people in the water at any one time. Plenty of really nice comfy lounge chairs with large umbrellas. No need to run and reserve a space. Rooms are charming, well appointed and a comfortable size. Balconies have large round bed, table and chairs and fan. You can also close drapes to balcony for privacy. Staff could not be any nicer or more friendly. There is always someone cleaning and working on maintaining the very nice grounds.
Only negatives: If you don’t have ground floor room (they have their own lounge chairs and umbrellas) where service for drinks and food is readily available, you have to wait for quite some time for someone to pass by so you can place an order. However; Walk to bar is short and service is quick. Pool area is nice but pool water is too warm. It’s like bath water. Food is mixed. Some things are very good some ok. Tea with snacks is amazing. Served 4-5 pm each day. Best to have 4 people to handle all the treats that go with the afternoon tea.
We saw a monkey on the hotel grounds (how cool is that).
Ran into multiple repeat hotel customers. No surprise given that the hotel is quiet, peaceful and charming. No pounding music here.
Hotel is close (5-10 min drive) to quality restaurants. Lone star is only 5 min walk on beach and food is excellent.
Thank you Fairmont for making our trip memorable. The service provided was impeccable by each & every staff during our trip. The balcony of our hotel room was dreamy and we could not get more value for money than this.
We would love to visit again soon!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay . The location is idyllic and the staff are excellent and the service is very personal. Disappointed that the top senior ,management team were either not visible or did not actively speak to residents. Concerned with the fact that the in room fridges were still not working despite being broken for many weeks
