How to Get There
We stayed here straight after arriving in Cusco. The hotel is lovely with a great setting. Fantastic staff and food. They could not do enough for us. Highly recommended. If we ever com back to the area would definitely stay again.
Sacred Valley is one of my favorite places on Earth and my choice of stay when I visit is Belmond Rio Sagrado. It's such a beautiful hotel, very connected to nature, with the Urubamba river flowing right next to it, the birds chirping all day, and the gorgeous gardens filled with flowers. The rooms are comfortable, luxurious and cozy, which is very nice given the low temperatures at night.
The service is magnificent! They all went out of their way to provide anything and everything I asked for. And the Spa is definitely a nice way to unwind in the afternoon after a morning of activity.
Loved it and highly recommend it.
We stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are amazing. The staff is great (a little English- challenged). The restaurant is fantastic. The spa is small but lovely. Belmond properties are officially our favorite international chain!
This hotel is like straight out of a storybook. Situated in the Rio Sagrado, or Sacred Valley, it has the most picturesque views of lush surrounding mountains and the river flowing through them. To capitalise on that, there are a lot of spaces where you can hang out and enjoy the scenery. The hotel offers chairs to sit in near the river and sunbeds outside. There are also two adorable llamas who call the large green fields of the hotel home. They are very gentle and you can sit with them and pet them -- it's awesome! We spent a lot of time laying on the grass next to them, enjoying their presence and the great weather.
The food at the hotel is great. There's a buffet-style breakfast but you can order off a menu as well. The dining room looks out on the river and while I was eating I felt excited to get outside and explore. During our stay at the Belmond, it was my parents' anniversary. The hotel organised a private barbecue in a tent outside by the river. It was very intimate and we all felt it made the anniversary special.
The rooms are hacienda-style houses. Ours was very spacious, with two floors, a kitchen and a lounge and dining area. I'm not sure how large other rooms were, as we were six people traveling. The design of the house is very romantic and immersed me in the Peruvian culture and landscape. There was also a small porch outside where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee in the sun. I will say that the house did seem a bit old and run down. There were some nooks and crannies that seemed unclean.
My boyfriend and I took advantage of the spa service at the hotel and got a couples massage. It was very satisfactory. The spa also has a steam room and sauna, which was great.
Overall, this is an amazing hotel where you can wind down and relax with beautiful surroundings and great service. I highly recommend it.
The riverside setting could not be more beautiful and the accommodations were first rate. The service was amazing as was the restaurant. They baked my husband a birthday cake as a surprise. We went with our 3 kids and felt at home and lucky to be there!
