How to Get There
I stayed at several Belmond properties during my trip to Peru and this one was my least favorite. The location is beautiful, feeding the baby alpacas was so much fun, the food was great and the service very excellent. My room was not as nice as I would have hoped, the curtains did not close all the way, there was no heat in the bathroom at all...there were some other issues but when I spoke to the front desk they did everything in their power to help me (bringing in a space heater for the bathroom for example). So while my particular room had some issues, the helpful and friendly staff made the stay very pleasant. I would recommend for sure.
I will try not to gush but this place is amazing. After my last Belmond I didn’t see how it could get better. Turns out it can. This hotel has a very small number of very private rooms. However, there is a full service spa with an amazing steam room and jacuzzi and morning yoga by the river. The rooms are amazing. We had a private patio and a walk in huge rain shower. There is no TV, but there is WiFi. This place is very zen. The staff is attentive, warms and wants your happiness and comfort is their highest priority. The restaurant is incredible. Definitely in the top ten places I have ever stayed. It’s unique, it’s elegant, it’s romantic. My regret is that there is so much to see nearby, I don’t feel like we enjoyed the hotel as much as we could have. Special and wonderful place. Worth every single penny and then some.
I truly recommend this hotel. Everybody is relay nice. The food is delicious and have a great variety. You have the view of a river that makes a lovely nature sound. I will have stay more days if I knew it was this beautiful.
Our family of five had an absolutely wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. The grounds are meticulously maintained with flowers and beautiful trees. It is right on the banks of the river. The hotel staff was wonderful, and the hotel manager, Patricia, was especially welcoming and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure that our family, especially our little boy, had a wonderful stay. I would recommend this hotel without any reservation.
We stayed here while touring the sacred valley & prior to hiking the Inca Trail. (We booked our trip through Southwind Adventures & cannot day enough wonderful things about our experience.) Simply magnificent is the only way to describe this property. We stayed in one of the suites, with a fabulous fireplace, which was graciously lit upon request. The sound of the river meandering and babbling along the rocks invites relaxation and calm.
The food at the restaurant is a gastronomic delight. We highly recommend the pasta Urubamba. The breakfast is a delightful buffet, and we particularly enjoyed the granadillas, bread, eggs, and Andean energy bites.
This hotel is worth every penny and is a gem. The staff, particularly at the restaurant, is warm, kind and ready to assist. 😊
