How to Get There
I am a traveler. I've stayed in 5 star resorts all over.I've never experienced such an amazing hotel. Food (as foodie, OMG), service,exclusitivity..everything. Rent a car, so you have options but dont be discouraged to just stay at hotel. The food is fresh fresh fresh. We ate breakfast and lunch everyday there and never had anything bad. Drank tap water (at the resort) no problem...pizza...amazing! The Sarenado fish is crazy good. The service..I expected to be on Mexican time but it wasn't. This was a huge surprise!!! The staff is very accommodating, punctual and professional. We stayed in "Aye" which is on the end, on the ocean. Contanst breeze there. Not sure about the other rooms since some are in the jungle & when you walk the property, it's hot & no breeze in the jungle. After the first few nights, you get used to the AC not being what you are used too. If you can adapt/hang you'll be okay with the heat (in summer). There are some animals. You can feed them sweets at night & they wont bother you. Firat few nights they went to bathroom on our deck..Haha & in the pool. After that, we learned to leave them a treat and no problem. Also, dont be freaked out when you dont get a room key. There are none. Its perfectly ok. Lastly, no one is around unless you need them. Not sure you ever experienced that but it's amazing!!! Hopefully my review will give you ideas about this place. Its AMAZING!!!!
This resort has it all - Jungle and Ocean. The beach was pristine, the water clear, and without a single piece of garbage anywhere. The rooms are beyond amazing, the beds are perfect, the food is excellent, the drinks are generous. The concierge staff is wonderful, especially Ken, who made us feel very much at home. The pools are beautiful, the one upstairs has a fantastic view of the coast. We were not over-charged for anything, and the products in the refrigerator are complementary. I wish there were a six-star option on tripadvisor, I would certainly give Imanta as many stars as possible. There were not mosquitoes, the weather was perfect. Truly luxurious, eco-friendly, and beautiful!!! We love it here!!!
Great service, beautiful hotel, delicious drinks. I loved spending time here, it's quite and tranquil. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. The restaurant in front of the ocean is really good.
It was my first time in Punta de Mita and its was unbelievable. One of my BFF was celebrating 18 years together with her husband in a magical two days party. The hotel put together a wonderful party and we had the best time ever. My room was spectacular, the views the amenities, everything. Food was delicious. The hotel is very private. It was one of a kind experience. I'm a seasoned traveler and I'm still in awe! I totally recommend this place.
We are seasoned travelers who visit Mexico frequently and stay in a wide variety of accommodations.
My 11-year old son and I recently visited for three days and stayed there for the first time.
My family and I have visited Imanta for meals on several occasions and been blown away by the surroundings and the food. We’ve always wanted to stay here but were waiting for the right opportunity.
My 11-year old son and I were traveling together in Guadalajara and the Jaslisco region and planned to meet my wife and daughter in Punta Mita over the weekend. My work wrapped up two days early and we considered the idea of going to the beach early. On a lark, I checked the Imanta website and found that they had availability.
I called the reservation line late that evening and reached (I believe), Julieta, but she informed me that the reservation people had gone home. Five minutes later, Rodrigo, the resort manager, called me personally to see how he could help. I told him my son and I had wanted to stay at Imanta but we were hoping for a last minute sale to push us over the impulsive line we had created for ourselves. Rodrigo consulted his records and offered a very fair and attractive last minute, mid-week price and I accepted. I’m extremely grateful to he and Julieta!
I believe that Imanta may be the finest resort of its type within a 4-5 hour flight from California. (And perhaps beyond.)
You can read the descriptions online so I’ll just give the summary here.
Roughly 250 acres of pristine jungle terminating on an incredible private beach. The softest sand ever. The resort houses, I believe, approximately 12 suites. All of the suites are separate dwellings connected to the beach and common areas by small stone lined paths.
The entire resort has been designed with the most thoughtful environmental design that I’ve ever seen. The roads through the jungle were designed to minimize disturbance to the trees. The suites and other stone elements were created from the stone found on the property. Even the suite bathtubs (some of which are outside) are large stones hallowed out and smoothed.
The beach is among the best I’ve seen in Mexico. The most private I’ve seen in Mexico. It features comfortable shaded beds, beach chairs and a beachside bar and restaurant in the sand. Look – its heaven!
Apart from the beach, the other common area is a large stone “observatory” building that has about four floors. One floor has a warm infinity pool with views of the jungle and ocean. Another floor has a restaurant with great ocean and jungle views. The highest floor has a plunge pool, a bar and lounge area that is high above the tree tops and with panoramic views of coast and jungle.
Our suite was roughly 2,000 square feet and lovely in every respect. Incredibly comfortable bed and chairs. Rich stone floors. Luxurious large window doors on each side (which can be totally closed for darkness/privacy, opened completely, or with just screen doors). Top notch amenities. A complimentary fruit platter each day and complimentary minibar stocked daily with soda, juice, water, and candy. We could hear the ocean from our suite and were roughly 29 steps from the private beach. I personally loved the outdoor stone bathtub and shower which had peak-a-boo views surrounded by jungle and peak-a-boo views of the water. Its incredible!
I’m sure the other suites are slightly different and perhaps feature more uphill steps from the beach (but with more panoramic views too).
The service throughout out stay was absolutely impeccable. I’ve already mentioned the responsiveness of Rodrigo and Julieta when configuring our reservation. When we arrived, Cristobal gave us a lovely intro to the very special property and its vision. We took all our meals at the beachside restaurant and spent a lot of time on the beach. There, Ramon and Cuauhtemoc served us on many occasions and is to be commended for his wonderful spirit of generosity and service, especially his looking after the needs of my won. Via email, I asked Julieta about a bathroom scale for our suite. The next morning they had procured one. I mentioned to another person on staff that I wanted to watch a prominent European soccer game and, within minutes, someone was configuring our suite TV on the proper channel. Everything we needed was done quickly and with grace.
During the entire stay, I’m asking myself “what is comparable to this within a 4-5 hour flight from California?” I think it may be unique or close to unique for the combination of private beach and luxury surroundings.
Imanta is not a place to go jet skiing or parasailing. Its not a place with beach vendors or other bars/restaurants within walking distance. (Things I love to do and have in other instances.) It’s a place to have privacy, relaxation, seclusion, intimate time with family and friends - surrounded by nature and great service. We can’t wait to return. Thanks to the entire Imanta team!
