How to Get There
Our sixth time staying in the club section and, in short, it was brilliant. From the moment we arrived it was like we’d never been away.
The same friendly welcoming staff. The same clean, well kept grounds and buildings . And the same outstanding service.
Now there was still a problem with seaweed on the beach. A large storm in November push loads of it in over the reef and once in there it’s only got one place to go. The hotel had over a dozen staff and a front loader doing battle just to keep the beach clear.
This did not spoil our holiday in any way, shape or form.
We had seven nights so visited only our favourite restaurants. The Indian, French and Asian, with most breakfasts and a few lunches in the buffet and the of course beach barbecue. The standard of the food and service was excellent as always with a special mention for the beef masala in Basmati, the sushi in Spice, everything in Aroma, the coffee shop and the paella on the beach.
The overarching constant at this hotel is the staff. They are all great from the gardeners to the concierge staff and beyond but here’s a few we had extra interactions with and apologies for any incorrect spellings.
Amable who recognised us when we walked into the club and gave us a great welcome.
Her partner in crime Moises who again recognised us and made us drinks throughout our stay as he put it “with love”
It was a shame that Amable wasn’t always with him as the atmosphere around the pool bar is better when they are together.
Fernando and his fellow pool concierges were as helpful as always.
Rosable who seems to work everywhere and always has a smile and a friendly word and makes great coffee.
In the Club Joel was always helpful and attentive and we were served constantly great espresso martinis by a young man who I think was named Luis.
Juan in Spice always makes our visits special as Thomas does in the buffet.
Last but definitely not least is Sara from guest services. Always welcoming and always helpful.
We left telling staff we’d be back next year and that’s the plan.
The resort was really nice. The food and wait staff were amazing. Shout outs to Alfredo from El Patio and everyone from Beaurdeux (they catered to your every need and the food was really really good).
Even before we arrived we were being catered to by Sebestian Tenorio from executive services. He made sure our trip was planned and helped us arrange activities and transportation. He was integral in making our trip one of the best experiences ever.
Overall rating for this resort was a 6 on a scale of 10. Physical property was very well maintained, grounds were beautiful, lots of nice pools, and rooms nicely appointed. We upgraded to a preferred room which I recommend. Separate area to check in, eat breakfast, and grab drinks. Biggest advantage was a dedicated location on the beach away from the fray and the outstanding beach service provided by Ivan. I give him a 10 plus. Hardest working dude at the resort.
Biggest negative was the overall quality of the food. I’m no gourmet snob but the food at all locations throughout the resort was marginal at best. Only one of the restaurants takes reservations which was highly annoying when waiting in line with the masses to eat at night. Getting drinks was not bad other than the main bar at the swim up bar. Huge pool with only ONE bar tender on Sunday. What the heck?
Ton of seaweed on the beach but it was very stormy during our stay. They attempted to pickup everyday but they couldn’t keep up.
Nice place especially if you have kids but I will not be coming back.
We have just returned from 10 days here and it was magical.
The staff made this resort and would love to point out the best!!
Israel- by the pool he was the best we was never without a drink and we had a baby in our group and he always checked she was ok
Jose at baracadu bar. Every day we would look forward to seeing him he remembered our drinks and ensured always ok
Daniel and rafael from entertainment staff. So friendly ensured we always could play volleyball and other games made sure we were not missing it!! They are a credit to the team!!!!!! English is amazing aswell
Last but not least our favourite bar rendezvous and the bar Men!!!!
Mario and Enrique were absolutely the best we have seen! It was raining one day and mario made us different shots each time and made sure we was never without.
Enrique the quickest bar man ever we would walk into the lobby and he would have a drink!!
The pool and the area is always clean. Chefs garden was our favourite !! Lasagne is to die for!! We loved Italian and French too.
Breakfast buffet was good loads of choices
And pool side food good aswell.
It rained for 4 days and the resor was just nice to chill in, they ensured all the bar men were up in lobby handing good and drinks out and games to play inside.
Really good overall resor very sad to leave behind the staff and friends we made.
Would recommend resort not sure we would return to Mexico purely the rain put us off and the sea but we was not to fussed they did everything they could.
9:10 resor made you feel safe and very comfortable nothing was ever to much.
We were attending a family wedding and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, especially at the buffet (Ruby) and the spa (Cristina), the amenities were adequate and family friendly, including a variety of food options, children pool and leisure activities. The beach has a lot of seaweed but the staff cleaned it daily.
Con: We arrived early (10am) but couldn’t check in until 3pm. We were hot, tired and hungry but we were able to go to the buffet and pool. Also, the room service on our floor was not consistent and some days we didn’t have anyone stop by until past 7pm.
