How to Get There
Having stayed at various 5* hotel across the world and being a frequent flyer for business, I tend to have a higher expectation of service when on holiday with my family. On this occasion I found the hotel staff were average; a lot of the world cafe staff didn’t speak English very well and when you requested something like coffee or juice or cutlery it seemed like they thought it was a chore. On occasions I found them to be a little rude.
The only part of our stay which was way above average was our poolside concierge JESUS, he was so accommodating and even more so friendly. He joked with all our 20+ family members and made us feel so welcome. I hope he is recognised for this level of service as this made an average 2.5* review 5* review. Thank you Jesus! I hope you continue to make all your guests feels as welcome as you did us.
Excellent Services. Bad on cooking a Steaks. Bad for Disabilities no elvertors for upperper Rest., Lots of Stairs. . Excellent people and hard workers and ready to please you .Great food and Resturants.
Dreams Riviera is a beautiful resort with many different restaurants, very clean and well-maintained grounds, nice entertainment, and an amazing and attentive staff. The food was better than expected. The infinity pool is awesome. We were preferred club guests and were treated so well-from Edgar and Jennyfer at the VIP check-in to Mauricio in the VIP bar to Erick for poolside service and Oscar at Bordeauxâs, along with so many others. We would definitely return. The two downsides were: the beach-itâs covered in seaweed and occasionally the smell was present & the second was our air conditioning did not always work, however it eventually got fixed.
We have been to many dreams, now, secrets, etc over the years and have never had a bad vacation. Dreams riviera Cancun was no different. We had an amazing week with the kids.
Jesus the pool concierge helped us to secure a Bali bed for the week and then went above an beyond checking on us and teaching us about Cancun history. Ivan the pool side waiter made sure our cups were never empty and the kids were happy. I wish I knew the name of the coco cafe guy who made my sons day with ice cream as he was my child’s favorite.
The entertainment team did what they do best and kept the place fun.
Our 2 rooms were on the 4th floor in preferred section and were nice. View was beautiful. Issue with ac in one room was fixed promptly and well.
Food was good. Drinks were great as well. I was pleased to find Malibu rum at the pool bars (usually this is “premium”).
Spa was nice. Amazing massage and hydrotherapy session.
Only not perfect thing was consistency in the housekeeping and preferred amenities for the rooms... we had 2 rooms. One had toothbrush, shoe mit, sewing kit, (preferred amenities) and the other had nothing on arrival. Neither room had our favorite dreams green shower gel. We asked 2x about shower gel and were told it didn’t exist... then I saw it on a maids cart and asked if I could have it. It should have been in the room. Also bring conditioner if you have long hair as this resort doesn’t have it like other dreams. Our shower gel and shampoo was never restocked like other dreams... I had to go ask for when we ran out. We had 6 people so we also ran out of the 4 bottles of water fast. They need to make sure they restock waters and such in the room every day (even leaving a tip they didn’t come some days) and the housekeeper didn’t come every day either. And yes we tip, we left $5 on the bed daily and some days it was still there on the unmade bed. Usually dreams is more on top of these things. The housekeeping team needs to be re trained. Did this ruin the vacation... nope. Would we return. Yes.
We had a great time.
The beach is covered in seaweed!! The ocean is brown and the beach smells like garbage. The pools had food in them. The activities and things to do are only listed at the elevator, so if you take the steps like we did you wouldnÃ¢ÂÂt know what was happening until it was over. The coffee shop was a waste, the employee act as if they never heard of what youÃ¢ÂÂre ordering even though itÃ¢ÂÂs on the menu. The buffet would run out if things and take over 20 minutes to replenish it. They also try to suck you into a timeshare (donÃ¢ÂÂt fall for it). DonÃ¢ÂÂt bother to be preferred member because they can tell any difference. You can not be a preferred member and still get top shelf liquor!!
