How to Get There
The greeting "welcome home" seems a bit corny, but not if you've been there. Truly a home away from home. The staff is amazing and the guests equally so. Attended two of Richard and Lauren's workshops this trip, including the new women's workshop which she loved. A very comfortable and safe space for exploration. Brought to you, not surprisingly, by maybe the most comfortable, sensual place in the universe. When can we go back?
It was fun! We had a good time with everyone there. We weren't going to come back because of the time share pressure we experienced the first time we visited. However, Marilyn assured us that if we visited with her group, we wouldn't be subjected to a "Time-Share" debacle..\
This was our first visit to Desire Pearl and we had a great experience. From the spacious rooms and beautiful grounds to the great staff and restaurants, everything was wonderful. Every employee had a friendly greeting and warm smile and were always asking if we were having a good time. All three restaurants served great food and the service was never lacking. The pool (where we spent most of our time) was always a great place to be and the bar service was quick and friendly. From our name of "Hedo Lovers" you probably can guess that we enjoyed Hedonism II in Jamaica (and we did) but after discovering the Desire Resorts we have made the switch.
Desire Pearl is a truly special place and it is the people - guests and staff - that make it so. Each trip back is becoming as much about seeing friends on staff as well as couples we have met before.
There are so many I want to thank that it is hard to start with anyone first -- because I want to thank everyone first, but I do have to correct a mistake on my part:
I want to start by thanking Marcos, our housekeeper at the Dolphin building. I had intended to thank him specially at the end of the checkout interview and somehow forgot! -- I hope his name can be added to our list of all the excellent staff members! We checked out on June 21, 2019, room 65. I feel so bad about that but want to correct it here by mentioning him first. We were so surprised and happy to see him on our first day of this trip as he was adding the finishing touches to our room. Thank you again, Marcos, and I look forward to more conversations in the future.
Huge, huge thanks to Desire Pearl and the good work of Irving, our butler, for arranging for us to stay in our room rather than switch rooms for our last night. We became members in March, 2019, and this is our first trip back since then. Thanks to Hailey and Alex Baldizon in sales at Desire Riviera Maya, we'd been upgraded to a Master Suite for this trip to Pearl. But, we had two reservations as we had added a day. Initially, we were told the upgrade only applied to the first reservation and we'd need to move -- small inconvenience for one more day in paradise, no? Irving was able to keep us in our room for the last night so we could continue to enjoy Pearl without packing twice.
Thank you! and Thanks again to:
Irving, Enrique, Carlos, Gerry & Hector! Irving, we are looking forward to seeing you again as we did not get to say goodbye properly!
Thank you amazing Playmakers!
Candice: We want to write pages of thanks here to you! We deeply appreciate all the conversations we had, shoulder work-outs and the laughter and fun in between and so much more.
Javi & Shirley: I've never had so much fun playing water polo! You are fantastic!
Charlie! We hear your voice during the cold winter months, calling us back!
Kia! We think of your sweet smile, your grace and daring trapeze work
Josh! Thank you for the dance lessons and conversations!
Thank you Esteban & Jorge: you are the first to welcome us each time we return. Thank you Esteban for calling the transfer company to confirm our departure time.
Thank you Antonio, Victor and Horacio at poolside -- you make the days even more perfect.
To the dining staff at Aphrodite: Tony, Jose, Jesus, Jaime, Jonatan, Poot, Ceci, Alejandra, thank you!
To the bartenders Jairo, Luis, Julio Cesar, Raul Ovando, Bares, Abdi and mor, Thank you! Thank you Pablo to bring us those drinks at poolside!
Thank you Eduardo for morning espressos at the amazing Addiction coffee bar.
Thank you Carlos for delivering coffee to our room each morning and sharing good movies. Congratulations again as a father-to-be!
Thank you all the front desk staff and Canelo for starting our visit with the "Welcome Home!" We look forward to seeing you all again!
This was our 17th trip to Pearl. Always good to be back. It is an older property, but the resort staff is what makes it so great. The food is wonderful and all the wait people do all they can to keep you satisfied. The beach was pretty bad with the sea grass issue, but we understand that they are going to put a net out to catch the grass before it gets to the beach.
