What To Know
- There are eight restaurant options for dinner, but only two for lunch
- Restaurants have varying dress codes; none seat tables larger than six people
- Chairs around the main pool fill up fast. Get there early to claim a spot
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site
- Room Service
This beachfront, all-inclusive resort has 540 rooms and suites—with no kids allowed. That means no splashing of little feet in the legendary pool, which winds throughout the lush gardens. No sunburned youngsters hiding out in the palapas on the white sand beach. And no high chairs in the eight different restaurants: from buffet-style Mar y Tierra and Le Marché for breakfast and lunch to Mexican La Hacienda and fine dining option The Corner for dinner. Other restorative pursuits include getting a massage, facial, or ritual treatment in the spa, lighting up a cigar at the Partagas bar, or supping margaritas at one of the property’s well-appointed bars.
In the Area
An oasis unto itself, the Valentin Imperial Maya is a 25 minute-drive from the nightlife of Cancun. Which means it’s also ideally situated for exploring the ancient civilization of the Mayas at the ruins of Tulum (the most well-known, seafront temple), Coba (which boasts the highest Mayan temple in the country), or, a bit farther a field, the vast complex of Chichen Itza. And for snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins, guests head to Xel-Ha, a “natural aquarium” and marine life theme park.
How to Get There
This was our 2nd visit this year and while we love the people and property, we saw a few issues.
First, household services were lacking. We would return to our room at 3:30 after 5 -6 hours at the pool and find it unattended to.
Second, the steak house while beautiful and impressive, still needs attention. Steaks are often over cooked and at an all inclusive resort should not have a salad bar. Perhaps I'm overly critical of the salad bar, but...
Still, my wife and I are planning another visit for 2019.
We visited the VIRM in October. Once again it was like going back to Paradise. Greeted by every employee from the time we arrived until we left. The absolute best All Inclusive that we have ever been to. Once you experience the VIRM you will never want to go anywhere else.
The food at all the restaurants is very good. I love the idea that there is no buffet at nights. I really like the Italian restaurant. Try one of the pizza's there. Yummy. The French restaurant is very elegant. The service is top notch at all the restaurats.
Thanks to the very energetic Go staff. Marina does an outstanding job with her staff. There all all types of activites all day and night. They work so hard.
The rooms are very clean. We prefer to stay in buildings on the beach. They have a beautiful view.
There are many reasons we return but maybe the biggest is the entire staff at the VIRM. Everyone works so hard to ensure your stay is pleasant. It is so nice to return time after time and see our second family. Thanks to Gilberto and Melina in the Mar Tiera restaurant. A special thanks to Rosario the concierge in Building 13. A special thanks to Joselo and his concierge staff. they do an unbelievable job.

This was our first trip to the Valentin, which was recommended by several friends. The resort is beautiful and well maintained, the staff is fantastic and except for the Ginger restaurant, the food was wonderful and there was great variety for breakfast and lunch. We especially liked the food at L'Alsace, Olivio, and La Hacienda. I'd like to thank Gabriela at the Spa, Karla and Imelda for great beach service, Jorge for pool service, both of the Daniela's at Best Day Travel, and Kevin at the dive shop for setting up my first ever parasail! Grounds keeping staff, especially Wilberth, were always hard at work and the beach was beautifully maintained. All of the restaurant staff was friendly and attentive and we had a wonderful vacation. We fully intend to come back as soon as possible!
My wife and I were there 2 weeks ago for the first time. We came with some friends that raved about the place and have been here 4 times. They couldn’t say enough about the hotel. I can certainly see why. WOW...
The grounds were very well kept and clean. Our room was a”swim up” junior suite, well stocked and super clean. It was nice to walk out your patio door and be at the pool. There is also a much larger pool where most of the activities take place. The beach is awesome. The restaurants are all 10s and food was excellent. all the staff whether it be grounds keepers, bartenders, cooks, waiters, check in staff, are all exceptionally well trained in the hospitality industry.
Noemi is one staff member that stands out, always a very warm welcome at breakfast and lunch.
We enjoyed the “fire show” as well as the Michael Jackson tribute.
We are already planning our November vacation for 2019.
Thank you and keep doing what you’re doing You’re killing it...
This resort is amazing. Luxurious, relaxing, the service is top notch! Never felt crowded as its so spread out and so many places to lounge or walk or swim. Loved it and will be returning as often as we can!
