How to Get There
The Elements is an amazing condo/property. The condo (we had experienced two) were extremely clean and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is absolutely amazing. The beach is really nice. The staff there are the nicest and most helpful. Miguel has been the property management and he has helped us many times on booking activities, giving us tips on where to go, what to do. We have loved all the recommendations. The place is close to 5th Avenue without being overly busy and crazy. It is a walking distance to all the stores, restaurants and other amenities. We highly recommend the Elements - We hope to return next year as we enjoyed it very much.
First, the pictures look much better than what you get. We stayed in the 3 bedroom penthouse overlooking a trash pile full of concrete on the public beach. We confirmed a 3 year old child as the 9th occupant months earlier with Expedia but they had no record of it. Initially said it was fine, then Miguel tried to swindle us the next morning claiming the owners wanted more money although it has been confirmed and at check in it was confirmed and that it wasn’t an issue. Miguel did offer to move us to another 2 star resort that didn’t have a beach or ocean view which was the reason for staying here. We declined. The entire week the place was a construction zone and there was no use of the pool. Construction was loud and a pool was key in making our decision to stay here with 5 small children. Of course, there was no accommodation made or reduction in price. The fridge wouldn’t get cold and the upstairs bathroom leaked, but we didn’t ask for service based on our prior interactions with Miguel.
Also irritating was the fact that staying in a condo you had to wear a plastic bracelet although there were no real amentities and it is not an all-inclusive.
I stay in Playa at least twice a year for the last couple of years and this was the biggest bait and switch and jerk around that I’ve experienced. I’d avoid at all costs. We will not patronize here or any other Bric properties in the future. Save yourself the hassle and avoid.
The weather was extremely warm, but it is Mexico in July.
The people at the Elements were extremely nice and helpful, especially Miguel, the Bric concierge. We had a lot of room on our well appointed condo. The room was a haven of cool air from the heat outside.
The only negative I would give the place was the temperature of the pool water which was very warm.
We would definitely go back again.
We stayed at Elements to try something different from the resorts to see if we like a condo versus a hotel room. We had enough space to ask a relative to join us which you could not do without an extra charge at a resort. The grounds, pool and fitness center were comparable to a resort, and you get a beach view and private beach access, plus a washer and dryer. Miguel was our concierge, and he was more than accommodating, even responding to texts after 9:00 p.m. to look at excursions for us for the following day. It’s an easy walk to 5th Avenue to all the restaurants and shops. We saved some money, and we had a great time. We would go back here again.
Stayed at the Elements at the beginning of June. Everything exceeded our expectations. Check in was a breeze - we booked through Expedia and we weren’t sure what to expect, as our flight delayed our arrival by a full day. Our incredible Bric concierge Miguel took extra time to talk with us about our interests and recommended the most amazing restaurants. He also went out of his way to help us rearrange our stay to extend our visit by an extra day. The grounds are impeccable! We loved the pool! We loved the hot tub in the evening. The beach area was perfect and Emerson the bartender makes outstanding margaritas. Our condo was on the main floor and though we had hoped for an upper level unit we were thrilled that we just had to walk a few steps to jump in the pool or grab a snack but we still had a great ocean view. The decor in our unit was modern and gorgeous and the kitchen was well stocked with absolutely everything you can think of. There is a 7-11 next door and that was really handy. The condo is at the north end of 5th ave so it’s very quiet but also close to really great restaurants and all the fun stuff. The pool is massive and is great for kids with large shallow areas for play. Front desk staff are multilingual and this is a plus for French Canadians! The fitness centre was one of the highlights of the trip. Well kept equipment and fabulous views! Absolutely no complaints.
