What We Love

  • The beach. It’s small and private and has been recently de-bouldered.
  • Lovely gardens and hidden Jacuzzis around the resort.
  • Villa butlers: Each villa courtyard has its own butler, who will do everything from making scuba arrangements to getting your dinner reservations.
  • The gardens, and the large amount of flowing water, at this property have made it a favorite of Yucatan’s rich birdlife.
  • Freebies like bicycles and kayaks.

What To Know

  • Rates include unlimited meals, snacks, top shelf alcoholic beverages, natural juices and soft drinks
  • Get off the property. Yucatan is full of amazing activities, including trips to Tulum, which can arranged by the hotel or done on your own, cenote diving, or scuba diving.

Concierge from villa 21 was never there. Had to go complain to reception after 4 times of attempting to flag him down. It was ridiculous. Did not even bother providing us with the entrainment schedule. Major thumbs down.
***STAY AWAY FROM VILLA 21 NO VIEWS. ours was the back of the maintenance room.
Rodrigo from Spices appeared very impatient when he waited on us. Pinedes did great on the other hand.
***Javier Betun, Eduardo Be , Sergio, Isaias , Luis? At the bar and Daniel were AWESOME they gave us the most exceptional service.
Fernando by the pool area was in a great mood for a few days. Appeared real grumpy soof after for a few days.
Little to no music. Kinda sucked.
Entertainment was awesome! Tried thier best, my favorite was Karaoke Night!
5ta avenida is a must!
Overall my experience was good. Best all inclusive in Playacar.

Relaxing 4 daya

My husband and I were there from 7/7-7/10 . We had a relaxing time and enjoyed great food and drinks. The only things that we didn’t like were the are concierge in villa 21 was never there. And every time I tried calling he or she didn’t pick up the phone. So we had to go to another villa to ask for help. Also, the pool laungers are reserved every morning really early by early birds. People would go and put there towels and stuff before 7 am and I saw many unhappy with that. The main pools are a little dated. There is very little entertainment, not even music in the pool area. We were told by the staff that many guests didn’t like music and that is why the played it every other day. Night time shows were good. We went to azia, it was exceptional, our favorite. Ventanas was good but it has a complicated menu, and then palazzo, we didn’t like the food or the restaurant itself. It was very dated and small. Also we saw many men not knowing that they needed pants for dinner. I think that hotel should send email with hotel rules before arrival.
Breakfast and lunch at spices are great! Everyday it exceeded our expectations . Drinks at the bars are good as well. Mostly everyone is friendly and tries to give a good service.
Even though there were a few hiccups, I can say that is the best all inclusive experience that I’ve had. Resort is small and everything is easy access and nothing is really full, so everyone has a good time. There is a calm and relaxing feeling since the moment you arrive, everything is clean, room was beautiful and clean and the food was overall excellent. Next time I’ll go to Azia for dinner every night. That’s how much we liked it.
I’m really thankful that I’ve found a resort that is really relaxing, perfect when you have only a few days free.

Great spot for a honeymoon trip

Overall, our stay at the Royal Hideaway was great. The service, in particular, was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and they even cleaned our room twice a day. The food quality was good, but I wished they had more typical Mexican cuisine/ flavors. Our favorite restaurant in terms of food quality and service was the Grill. We also really enjoyed our Mexican fiesta show/dinner, but wished he hotel had more entretainment options past 10pm. The pools were great and so was the view from the pool. As far as the beach goes, unfortunately there was a lot of seaweed, which has nothing to do with the hotel’s location. The entire coast is facing the same problem. I would totally recommend this hotel! You’ll have a great relaxing stay.

We went for sour 20th anniversary. It was our third time there The food was not as good as times in the past. It was good just not great and in the preceding years it was great. The service was outstanding and the rooms were comfortable. Just bring the food back up and you are golden
