How to Get There
This is my third time in Mexico I normally stay in Cancun at the royalton which has the greatest service I've come across now I decided to try a different resort and I'm very unhappy after wasting 9days in the most boring resort I've ever seen also to be kicked out of a buffet for having a relaxing tank top on I definitely feel disappointed when clearly there are tons of kids and a couple ladies dressed very relaxed with tank tops shirts on so the manager at the buffet approachs me to inform me the rules and meantions oh the host was a new employee and she should have never let me in which I totally find appropriate for a buffet sorry to say it's a buffet not a fine dining restaurant where casual dress down is needed at all folks come to vacation to relax also that's just the icing on the cake the Mexican experience is no where to be found at this resort also everything closes extremely early theres no entertainment for adults literally at all the dj is never playing a study flow of music so yes I'm definitely never ever coming back to this place spending 9days at this location was the worse thing I decided to do the only thing that gave me joy was the amazing bar staff and room service so thanks for nothing buffet staff
This was my 4th time coming to La Perla. Oct 31- Nov 10th 2019. This is a great resort. We have always stayed in a Royal Jr Suite which is definitively the room to stay in. This was our 2nd time with a Royal Jr Suite Swim-up. The extra money is well worth it if you use the pool. (we live in the pool) Over the 4 years we have seen changes which is sad but expected as the building is aging a little.Opened end of 2011 or Jan 2012 still newer. EXTREMELY CLEAN! Not as much special little things done for you as before but, if you haven't been there before you will not miss it. We booked through Melia and love the hassle free shuttle to and from the airport. Each year we have booked through Melia they have offered a 50 min massage. This was the first year I actually kept asking about it after check in. It is a shame that when you check in they are not up front - yes, it is a free 50 min massage. For the first time I was able to take advantage of it thank you to our butler for making it happen. Knowing what I know now - I would have booked 2 massages during our stay for both my husband and myself. ( I didn't go until the end of our stay). Joanna gave an exceptional massage which was very enjoyable. Staying in Royal you have privileges that are really nice. This was the 1st year being told we could use the spa at no charge. Men's sauna was not working but everything else was a 10! I am still talking about the pedicure I had last year- wonderful. Our Butler Xenia was amazing. Best Butler we have had. We tipped after the first 5 days and then again at the end. Xenia was outgoing, very friendly and made sure she checked in with us everyday. Daniel the pool attendant is great. He remembered us instantly from last year. Daniel is so friendly to everyone. Make sure you tip the pool attendants - he works his buns off, 1st one to show up at the pool to set up your daybeds ect and last one to leave! Daniel makes you feel good! The Royal pool is the best pool we have ever been to. Sergio from the Circle needs to be a butler - he is such a cool person. He picks up on little things that people say and made every one I saw him come in contact with feel special. Like how in the world does he know all the customers? Sergio from Circle was a one of a kind and remembered everything you say to him. This Kid should move up quickly. Personality PLUS! Alfredo the bar server is top notch! If he is not bringing you a drink or food, he has water for you. Great team at the swim-up bar at the Royal pool. I wonder if they share their tips? Alfredo does works as if he was 3 servers in 1. Pool food is excellent and super fun to be able to have good food and not leave the pool. All around the the resort the food is wonderful! Service everywhere is better than you will find anywhere! Please tip all the staff. Even at the buffet please tip - these people work hard. We had the best excursion not set up at the hotel. Rent Buggy. 5 stars! 10 days is a long time to be in one place and still not be tired of the food. We went to Bana 4 times. So many things to choose from and all delicious. Our favorites - La Palapa, Bana, Fuego and Grill. I found out on this trip they have coconut gelato in Naos. Hadar staff at the breakfast buffet work so hard. Rosa from house keeping did an excellent job. Many days we were in our swim up pool / outdoor area when she came in to clean. Rosa always came outside to announce herself, say hello and let us know when she was leaving. Super sweet girl who did an amazing job cleaning the room every day. We had so many people that gave us great service. The few I named are over the moon excellent. Beautiful property. Once there you will not want to leave. Every year we end up booking again because its such a nice resort, not sure where you can find better service, food, drinks, pool in Playa Del Carmen. The beach is fine. No seaweed, Bar service and Royal area too. Elegant Property Not Cute.
Don't for get to tip everyone. They work extremely hard and you will have the best service ever. Book La Perla as soon as you can :)
What an amazing weekend! I have to commend Angelo, Kevin, Dora and Laila for making my stay at Paradisus SO PERFECT. Everyday greeted by name and always providing such fun and memorable days by the pool!
The resort is clean and well kept, I will say the layout is a bit odd and you have to walk around / out of the way to get to things (but thats just the building itself). Food and drink accommodations were perfect - I just wish the bars would serve later than 2am..... !!
