How to Get There
Wow- great vacation week. Food was great across the board. Alfredo at the Royal Service pool was wonderful - checked back with us frequently for drink order and he suggested great cocktails! Alma at the spa was fabulous if a massage is needed. Of course we couldn't really enjoy the beach due to the seaweed issue but we knew that going in. Having the Royal Service pool was a definite plus. Our butler, Christian, was attentive and planned some nice surprises for us. The only negative would be the couches in the rooms - very hard and uncomfortable - but the suite overall was very nice.
Ironically, I stayed at Paradisus Playa del Carmen, a Melia hotel, for a CAT (as in the machinery company) conference. Throughout my stay, I found the staff professional and helpful. The food was also very good with 14 different restaraunts to choose from. Quality food is something noteworthy considering Paradisus operates as an all-inclusive hotel.
My biggest suprise began to unfold when, one night, I saw a cute cat roaming the property. After I said hi, the cat started following me, eventually into my room. Long story short, I decide I need to take it home to give it a decent life. Assuming the hotel staff wouldn't love the fact I was keeping a stray cat in the room until my departure three days later, I attempted to maintain that as a secret between the feline and myself. Nevertheless, staff found out. Ms. Karla Nataren, one of the managers, reached out to me to discuss the situation. I was positive I would be getting in trouble. Exactly the opposite happened!! Karla referred me to the hotel's Sustainability Manager (yes they have a full time professional in that role), a passionate biologist by the name of Carlos Segura. Carlos told me about the hotel's feral animal adoption program. He proceeded to send the animal to the vet to get it checked for illnesse and vaccinated, and also obtained the necessary documentation so I could proceed with the adoption.
This remarkable story exemplifies how deeply Paradisus commits to delivering a great experience.
My wife and I went to this resort for our one year wedding anniversary. My cousin and his fiancé came along and we all had a great time at the hotel. The food and people were great. We lounge at the perla pool daily and entertainment was great ,Alan Ramirez really made our time there fun, also my wife and her friend really enjoyed his dancing classes. We really thought that he helped make our vacation great we also requested music and he tried to satisfy us as much as he could and can’t wait to go back and see our new friend again . Also bartenders Antonio and Angel were really good always took care of us right away! The only complain we had at the hotel was the music in general but specifically in the perla lobby it was the same music every night the DJ played no variety is was the same playlist daily it should be more variety and newer music.
