Home away from home!
Reviewed 2 days ago

After having spent three nights in Cancun and two nights in Tulum, I must say that my one night/1 and a half day experience at the Hotel La Pasión was the best of my trip!
I was welcomed very warmly by the staff who helped me carry my luggage, greeted me and made me feel at home, gave me tips and offered me to take care of my suitcase the following day (my plane was taking off at night). They even said I could still use the pools and facilities until later in the day should I want to!
Those things DO make a lot of difference, specially when traveling solo.
The hotel is ideally located near the Main Street (Avenida quinta) where everything happens as well as the beach but far enough to feel relaxed and without any noise.
My room was AMAZING. Facing the pools, nicely decorated, bathtub facing the bed and separate room for toilet.

Couldn’t have asked for more and will surely be coming more to La Pasión.

Huge thanks to Carlos and another of the hotel staff member whose name I now forgot but made me feel so special!

This hotel is amazing!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for 5 days and 4 nights and we loved it! When we checked in the staff was so friendly, they loaded our bags and explained everything about the hotel. When we arrived in the room there were two bottles of water for us, the amenities are good and clean, not so big but very good. There are three pools, two on the first floor with a jacuzzi, and another on the roof top with two jacuzzis, the roof top is amazing and is a great place to stay after a long day of touristing around town. We went by car and had no problem with parking, there is parking at the hotel, but you have to warn the front staff when you get in and out because they need to open the gate. Breakfast is good, there are fruits to start and after that you have a few choices to choose from such as eggs, omelettes, croissants and sandwiches. The orange juice is amazing. At night there are free wine and biscuits for guests, and there is water to take all day at the reception.
So in summary, what I most loved in this hotel was the staff, the staffs there are so friendly, everything you need they will handle you on time with the highest satisfaction. When we checked out they gave us a heart keyring, it very cute. But, there are two things we hate, one was the elevator, because sometimes they stopped working, and was so hot inside it. The second thing is the parking, it was very hot inside it too. But despite this, I loved this hotel and I would stay at it again. Thanks La passion.

This is a very nice cheap hotel. The room we had secured was quite small however was modern and clean. Lots of space for clothing in the wardrobe which is in the bathroom. The pool was nice especially the roof top pool this was my favourite area. Staff were nice and helpful with answers to questions. The breakfast as ok we had it twice however food we didn't think was great but coffee was delicious. Very central to everything and if arriving by bus us less than 5 min walk. They didn't let us check in early and I did feel the staff were a little put out at our early arrival. That said for price and location would stay again.

Excellent hotel!!!

My husband and I stayed for 5 days/4nights and from the moment we walked in we were well taken care of. Jesus, one of the young men at the front desk, is the best!!! I have traveled a lot and therefore, encountered my fair share of hotel staff and he definitely made our stay be in the top 3 stays I’ve had, in terms of customer service. He is just genuinely happy to help you and make your stay and time in Playa the best. From the moment we checked in, he gave us a great orientation to the area and gave us about 4-5 restaurant recommendations (not the usual tourist traps) and not one of those disappointed! We went to all and they were all on the mark! He was also super helpful with tips in terms of not getting scammed by tour companies or money exchange places, and when the weather wasn’t cooperating he had great suggestions. And every time we saw him, he was all genuine big smiles and genuinely caring about how we’ve been enjoying ourselves. And if we mentioned something he would even say, “thanks, I’ll remember that for other guests” which truly shows how he is truly thinking about the guests at all times. The other hotel staff were friendly but Jesus definitely stood out, they are lucky to have him!

Okay now back to the hotel itself. It’s such a cute adults only hotel and in a great location, off of busy Quinta Avenida but close to it and all that offers, but also close to the ferry to Cozumel and lots of great restaurants, including Kaxapa Factory right next to it. There’s also a small grocery store across the street and it faces the Palacio Municipal and its plaza where you can get elotes!

The rooms were great, AC very cool and the bathroom was pretty big for hotel bathrooms I’ve experienced. There were two big closets within the bathroom! We had a shower and their natural products were good. I brought my own shampoo and conditioner and then used theirs one day and wish I would have tried sooner!

The hotel offers a delicious breakfast - fresh fruit plate, with pastry from the bakery next door, coffee and juice, and option of a made to order entree! And the options included eggs, omelettes, pancakes, even chilaquiles - definitely beats continental breakfast!! It was a great way to start the day.

The hotel has 3 pools - 2 on the ground level with a jacuzzi there as well and one on the rooftop with 2 jacuzzis. The one on the rooftop was small but totally adequate, especially to relax at the end of an excursion or instead of hitting beach. The rooftop has a bar as well and the bar tenders are also very attentive and great! We definitely enjoyed ourselves up there as well.

At night they also had some wine and cookies available at the front desk, nice little treat. There was also a coffee and waters available all day by the front desk.

All in all I totally recommend this hotel and would love to come back soon!!! I definitely recommend avoiding an all inclusive and doing this instead, to really get a feel for the town, food, and what Playa has to offer!
