Great spacious new appartment with a good location!
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Just 200 meters from the big supermarkeds La Comer Mega and Super Aki. Just a 5 minutes walk from the 5th avenue and less than 10 minutes from the beach, and a 2 minutes walk from a bus station which can take you to i.e Cancun, the airport or Tulum.
Fully furnished and TVs in both bedrooms and the living room. Two bathrooms connect to the bedrooms also ideal for pairs or small families (with an infant) sharing the appartment. The WiFi was excellent.
We enjoyed the kitchen a lot the 9 nights we stayed here. We were provided with a 10 liter drinking water tank at arrival, and we have no complaint about the cleaning. The beds were ok, even though I like smaller pillows. The sofa in the living room was comfortable.
One thing we did not like was a big mirror on wall in the livingroom that looked unsafe for our 2 year old kid. We asked them to remove it, but they told us that the mirror was securely fastened, and would break if they removed it. The pool on the roof was not heated and a little cold. They also had a bar at the roof top, that we unfortunately did not try out.
The "Kids play" was just a 10m² room with a TV+DVD, play matts and no toys. The "Gym" was equaly small with a threadmill, row machine, bike, and manuals with maximum weight 10 kg, which made it useless for me.
All in all, the positive things about this place outscored the negatives by far!
If we come back to Playa Del Carmen next year, we will stay here if we can get the same deal!

Stylish, comfortable and clean

Stayed in the new A-Nah downtown. Surprised by the quality of the apartments, fit out, service and the rooftop pool! Pity was only there for one night but would go back without hesitation. Stylish place in a good location. Loved it.

Anah-tha great time in PDC!
Reviewed 2 months ago

My wife and I with our two teens (17 and 15) stayed at the Anah so we could enjoy PDC for 3 nights before heading to our All inclusive near Puerto Morelos. Here are a few of our thoughts...

Terrific - close to the action but just far enough away to enjoy a quiet evening on the balcony. It is also next to the "MEGA" which is a good place to gather up some groceries or grab a quick slice of pizza for those more budget minded meals. Walmart is also fairly close.

RESTAURANT NOTE - for super inexpensive, tasty and convenient food - check out El Chuletan which is just across from the property (to the East- between An-ah and the Mega) - amazing food and terrific owner(s). Very basic setting but some of the best Mexican street-side budget food I've had.

Very nice- and very modern. The pool top pool and hot tub have a real modern vibe and the area is relaxing. It's clean, modern, yet basic. This is the perfect area for adults looking to have some quiet time. One critique would be that the view from the pool toward the ocean is obstructed by shrubs. Shrubs need to be removed- at least partially. As well, the hot tub was barely "luke warm". Perhaps that's the intent but i prefer a real hot tub.

We had a spacious suite - perfect for our family. The kitchen was large and the living room area next to it was nice with large windows/ patio doors. There was a main floor master bedroom with en-suite. The 2nd level had a bedroom with two queen beds, en-suite bathroom, and a spacious balcony with a tabletop (incl sink) and a hot tub with loungers. The balcony area was a bit grimy - and the loungers were dilapidated and full of dirty and/or mould. However, it's the perfect setting and just needs a bit of updating. The internet and TV etc all worked well and our room had a roku for smart TV options. Impressive property - and very nice unit.

Overall , this was perfect for us for 2 or 3 nights. Beyond that, this place wouldn't have enough going on to make it entertaining. It's purely a nice and convenient place to stay for those catching the action and amenities that PDC has to offer. I'd recommend doing what we did and stay a few nights at Anah followed by a larger AI type property for the best of both worlds. We'd highly recommend ANAH for anyone looking to spend time in PDC.

Unfair charges after stay
Reviewed 5 months ago

After a complicated check in process where I was persuaded to sign an inventory of everything that was supposedly in the room without actually seeing the room first, today I received the news that I was charged for some items that I supposedly took home (which I certainly didnt).

This really feels like a scam, avoid staying here if possible. Besides this issue, it was WAY overpriced.

Nice place, but it cost us...

Nice clean safe place, great pool. Excellent front desk staff. However, our safe stopped working and we paid a locksmith $130 CAN to get open because the battery in the safe locking mechanism died and the host did not have the backup key. After the locksmith told us it was the batteries (and not that we had inputted our code incorrectly), he refused to give our money back. Definitely will not go back.
