How to Get There
My boyfriend and I booked a 1 bedroom apt at ANAH Suites for 5 days and it was perfect! The location is right next to lots of good restaurants as well as 3 big supermarkets to pick up snacks, water, and anything else you forgot to pack.
The apartment itself was super spacious, and it came with a full kitchen, great bathroom (standing shower) and a king size bed. We also spent a lot of time at the beautiful rooftop pool since many of the beaches were filled with sargassum.
For the price and amenities, this apartment-hotel beats so many of the expensive beachfront resorts, especially now that the beaches are full of seaweed! I highly recommend this hotel and would instantly book again on another trip to PDC.
Do yourself a favour and do not stay here unless the idea of trying to sleep in a nightclub sounds appealing...
We booked a 12 night stay at Anah Suites in a 2 bedroom condo after a lot of research into the location and having been to Playa many times before, including a small stint living there. Nowhere does the hotel disclose that they share a wall with the hostel next door who have an underground nightclub (as well as hosting pool parties) and regularly advertise their “psychedelic trance” events. This went on from our first night and included a 3 day festival over one of the weekends. Repeatedly we spoke to the hotel reception and requested to be moved to a quiet room. Every time we were told a different story and all they did was move us to the same side of the hotel on a different floor, making no difference to the noise which prevented us from sleeping.
The hotel had no interest in finding a solution for us as they work for the owners of the condos and really couldn’t give a care about the experience of the paying guests. On one occasion I even had one of the front desk staff come to our condo to hear the noise and agreed it was terrible but said they had no control to be able to move our room or move us to the sister hotel across the road. Their offer to give us a 20% off voucher for our next stay at Anah is laughable - I wouldn’t even stay there again if it was free! In the end we checked our and found alternate accommodation for the last 3 nights which was not refunded by Anah.
This is a dodgy & disgraceful operation so be prepared for no sleep if you intend on staying there!
We visited Playa del Carmen in September and stayed 6 nights at Anah Suites. The apartment was the perfect size for 2 people complete with kitchen/dining, living room, patio, bedroom and bathroom. The decor was chic and of very good taste. The concierge was very helpful. The location was the best part about this place. Close enough to the main attractions- Calle Quinta and far enough to be quiet at night. It was also one of the nicer buildings in the area.
