How to Get There
Second time back after 8 years and this time without the kids. The hotel was even better than we remembered...we were made very welcome and had a lovely room. Service was superb from every member of staff we encountered. Nothing was too much trouble. Lunch over looking the pool was delightful … and the fish burger was to die for! A really fantastic experience again and a tranquil base to explore the amazing city of Lyon....a fifteen minute cab ride away or 1 hour walk into the old town.
Can’t fault the hotel. Location is a bus ride from the centre of Lyon, but the No40 bus has a stop right outside the hotel.
One improvement I would suggest is to install a tray to hold toiletries when in the shower. We stayed in room 917.
Excellent hotel. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel really suited visiting the city of Lyon away from the city centre. It's riverside location was lovely and quiet.
I travel almost every month to Lyon and when possible I stay at Hotel Lyon Metropole. The hotel is very good, the only issue is the week Wi-Fi in the rooms. But what really makes me come back is the very friendly staff! Thanks!!!
If you want to get out of tourist areas and relax on your holidays with a truly great pool and spa resort this is the hotel. Nice hotel. Comfortable beds. The negative is their Wi-Fi it barely stays connected and your constantly signing back into it every five minutes. I literally logged into it more than a dozen times a day. The hotel food is ok, seemed a bit pricey for what it was and had inconsistent service but there is a sandwich shop to the left of the hotel that is delicious. Any other food choices are either a long walk or a taxi. But the location is worth being away from lots of restaurants or shopping. Beautiful view of the river. Quiet at night. Very restful.
