The presidential suite not fit for a pauper
Reviewed 1 day ago

Where do I start, We stayed in the presidential suite. This is supposed to be the best room in the hotel. It was APPALLING. We were there with a convention group, I was told this group were going to rethink using this hotel in the future. The list of issues is long. First the elevators key worked very sporadically if at all. Replaced the key card 6+ times. The panels in the elevator were missing screws and LOOSE. The elevators were loud and seemed to be poorly maintained. They in fact had to take the worst one out of service during our stay, This also goes for the escalator which was out of service for 4 of the 8 day's we stayed there.
As we inspected the suite we found a pubic hair was left in the bathtub, (See photo).
We brought a black light, It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. (See photos)
The A/C sounded like a fright train. The choice was, not sleep because of the heat, or sound. I DIDN'T SLEEP.
The elevators were also LOUD. ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT.
The toilet ran ALL the time.
There was a so called kitchen, A fridge and sink. But I guess they expected us to bring the soap and sponges ourselves. No towels of paper towels,no cleaning supplies and NO garbage can. I asked for a garbage can and was given a garbage can liner. That was just thrown on a counter. (See photo). I also saw them throwing the recycling in to the regular trash. The dishes didn't fit the cabinets. Keeping the 1950 formica doors open, (See photo). The kitchen and bath faucets were LOOSE, Maintenance had to come up and make repairs. Not something that should be needed in a Presidential suite. Then they left the faucet off center, (See photo) Back to the kitchen, The removed doors from the pass thru. and left the hardware, (See photo).
The water pressure was extremely poor. Maintenance gave a truly BS excuse. They said that when less people use the water the pressure drops. And advised that I shower when everyone else does. Also the tempered glass shower door was hitting the wall, (See photo). This also had to be repaired. The cut markings were left on the wall tiles, (See photo s) The wall safe was barely attached to the wall. (See photo) The Fire Sprinkler covers were painted SHUT. ALL OF THEM. If there was ever a fire they would be unless. (See photos)
The WIFI was all but unless. constant issues and VERY slow speed. The tv signal was sporadic. The sound came and went, constant pixelation. The floors were always sticky. The art, (I think) was stupid. (See photos) There was a rotted tree in the room. The furniture was deck chairs. Everything was a mishmash of outdated and poor taste.
My wife had a catered event. IT WAS POOR. The food was dreadful and the room was left dirty.
I went to the pool. Poorly kept and dirty. The "Gym" Was through the poolroom and down many flights of steps. I never got there.

Don't stay anywhere else

This hotel feels like home to me. It's perfectly located, the express check in is awesome and the staff are so nice. The pillows could be better, but overall a great stay. I highly suggest staying if you have the chance and sign up for their rewards!

I enjoyed my stay there. it is centrally located near all the downtown attractions. I liked how it was connected to both the Mall and the Providence Convention center. I enjoyed the food at Flemings. THe pool and fitness center were enjoyable

I would stay again

Everything that I expected from a first class hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed, great service with a smile. The hotel is in a wonderful location in the city of Providence within walking distance of most attractions.

Fine, well-located, skip the pool

Nothing special but ok and well located. Pool is very, very small and heavy chlorine. Gym is nice.

Going back to Providence. I would try somewhere else but it is about $70 cheaper than comparable so I'll go back.
