Luxury, peace and beauty

Located on a quiet and beautiful part of the Red Sea coast not far from Hurghada, the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh is an amazing hotel. It offers a simple yet incredibly sophisticated and elegant architecture that conjures India and the peaceful sandy colors of the Egyptian desert; a cozy spa with the most talented therapists; a tasty and healthy cuisine with a number of delicious Indian options; and the best service you can imagine. There is no pollution, no noise, no disturbance of any kind. The sea is a little rocky but the quiet and beautiful beach invites long walks and there is a peer that takes you to a lovely snorkeling spot. It’s the ultimate detox for body and mind.

Exceeding expectations.

We recently returned from our ninth stay at the Oberoi Sahl Haseesh since 2007. Why do we keep returning? They claim that they want to exceed our expectations. And though our expectations are high after so many stays and holidays in fine resorts all over the world, they do keep exceeding our expectations.
Several years ago I had a cerebral hemorrhage which left my left side more or less paralyzed.
We thought, where will we go on holiday, and we decided on the Oberoi. And we have not regretted it for a minute. The helpfulness, warmth and genuine friendship is truly amazing. Several weeks before arriving, we wrote and asked for some very minor adaptations to be made in the bathroom, and a ramp for easy access with my electric scooter. When we arrived we were amazed at all the changes that had been made: hand bars in the shower and by the toilet, a chair for in the shower, ramps at the front entrance and even the rear for access to the courtyard. Even the toilet bowl had been replaced by a much higher one. It all provided for so much more independence and safety for me.
Talk about exceeding expectations!
Apart from this, we feel the greatest asset of the resort is the heartfelt friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Really unique.

Our first time at this outstanding Hotel and there will DEFINITELY be many more to come. Not intending to sound boastful, but we have stayed at many first class Hotel chains across the world, but in comparison, this Hotel surpasses every single one. It offers its guests literally everything they could wish for to make their stay with them luxurious and memorable. Even though the Hotel was fully occupied during our stay, you would never have known this as the grounds/beach are vast to afford lots of space and privacy for all guests.Again, the Suites are very spacious, elegant, very private and have excellent facilities. I can only reiterate previous reviews, that whilst the Hotel itself and its facilities are excellent, it is the staff, the service they provide and the sublime food that makes this Hotel stand out for us personally. To start with the food, it is hard to put into words just how delicious it is. Every single meal from breakfast through to dinner never disappointed and whilst we had a good attempt, and tried lots of different dishes, we were devastated that we could not sample EVERYTHING on EVERY menu!!! All the chefs should be very proud of themselves to be able to cook to this super high standard. We cannot move on from the food however without a very special mention of one particular chef, Mr Suman Kumar, whose desserts are to die for! Thank you Suman for making us put on half of the weight gained on this holiday, as whilst we do not normally indulge in desserts, we could not resist yours and could not wait to try the next one. All were ultra delicious but your Apple Pie and Soft Centered Chocolate Pudding were exceptional. Also thank you Suman for our lovely chats and for ensuring that we were happy with all the menu options. Passing now to the rest of the staff. Each and every one of them offered first class service, always with a smile and it was clear to see that all were happy at their work. It feels wrong to single out any one member of staff, as all were excellent, but certain members of staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. In no particular order, we would like to say an extra special thank you the following - to Bassant for greeting us at breakfast every day with your lovely smile, and chatter, and for the brilliant service you provided to us. You are an absolute credit to this Hotel and we sincerely hope to see you again on our next visit. To Hany and Maher in the Bar in an evening. Two absolutely great guys who could not do enough for us. Thank you both very much for everything, in particular the Rosy Prosecco, Hany, and the ginger cocktails, Maher. To Awell, Osama and Alaa at lunch and dinner, who again ensured that we had everything we required and gave us very attentive service. To our housekeeper Rahim who kept our Suite spotless, and provided us with the most beautiful towel art, which included swans, a crocodile, an elephant and rider, a hanging monkey and a dog! They were all superb and looked just like the real thing. We hope you liked our little towel art contributions to you Rahim!!! Last but not least, a big thank you to all the Management who are very unobtrusive but are always in the background if needed, and must be congratulated on ensuring that this Hotel runs as smoothly as it does, and again are all an absolute credit for the constant 5 Star status of this superb Hotel, Thank you to EVERYONE once again for ensuring that our stay with you was truly superb from start to finish and I think it is fair to say that you will be seeing us again. John and Julie Flynn - Suite 424.
