We spent a night here while holidaying in the NT. The accomodation is beautiful and the resort has fantastic amenities and everything you could need in such a remote place. We were travelling with our toddler so our room was ready early, much to our delight. The staff were all lovely. Only downside is that it is not really toddler friendly, even though I had checked before we booked. Other than that it was an amazing hotel in a beautiful resort.

Opera in the Desert

Our much anticipated Mother and Daughter weekend at Ayres Rock Resort for the Opera, out surpassed all our expectations. The check-in staff set the tone. Immaculately presented and knowledgable. From our Room at Desert Gardens we could see Uluru so what more could we ask for. We’d done our research and our room was exactly as we expected and ready for us to use when we arrived. The chef has covered everyone’s tastes from all around the world for breakfast, served in a very pleasant restaurant. Thank you Desert Gardens. I hope we can come again

A good base

We stayed at the Desert Gardens for 3 nights in a decent room with a great rock view. The room was very clean although much of the surrounding area struggled to keep up clean and tidy levels with the sand and dust whipped up by the wind, and the large numbers of dead leaves around. This was especially true of the area around the pool which was pretty poor and rather grubby. The reception staff and porters were very helpful at all times throughout our stay. We ate in both the restaurants. The fine dining of Arungi Restaurant was good with almost too fast service in stark contrast to the Mangata restaurant which had very slow service, although the food was fine.
The hotel, not surprisingly, is well geared up to the constant coming and going on trips out.
We didn't go into any of the other hotels in the resort - but this worked for us, and I would recommend if you want a good quality base whilst seeing all the various aspects of this area.
