Overview

Palatial 28-acre retreat in India’s Blue City with sporty amenities including tennis courts and a cricket pitch

The Lowdown

A majestic courtyard and a lofty lobby greet guests at this 88-room property in Rajasthan’s second-largest city. All guestrooms are decked out in soothing earth tones with hardwood furnishings, and they feature twice-daily turn-down service and tea- and coffeemaking facilities. Upgrade to a Superior Room for a top-floor view of the hotel garden, or for extra space opt for an Executive Suite, which comes with a separate living room. After a long day of sightseeing, have a dip in the outdoor pool or take a walk around the grounds — the hotel is surrounded by 28 acres. The food options will sate practically any craving: Gad serves both Indian and European fare (burgers or biryani for dinner, apple pie or jamun tart for dessert), while the Dunes bar offers paneer and enchiladas for late night snacks.

In the Area

Nearly every building in Jodhpur’s old city is painted bright blue, which makes for a striking effect, especially seen from above. Take in the sea of buildings from the top of the Menhrangarh Fort, a sprawling 15th-century sandstone fortress built to protect the old city, 400 feet below. Smart travelers will plan their visit for sunset, to see both the bold city skyline and the fort lit by night; museum curators are on hand to offer guided twilight tours of the monument. If you’ve got time, plan a daytrip to Osian (40 miles away). The ancient city is famous for its Hindu and Jain temples — and its sunset camel safaris.

Lousy place

Staying since yesterday with 4 families. Rooms n toilets are large. Rooms are with old worne out furniture. Beds not comfortable. Toilet has no proper toiletries,no foot mat in toilet.
Breakfast is lousy n the worst I had in a 5 star hotel in last 30 years .
When we confronted the chef, his version was that he was late to the hotel n the same was prepared by his junior chefs. Stero type excuse of the chef.
These complaints of rooms n food can be checked in earlier reviews too n the same excuse of the Chef.
'O' value of money staying at this hotel.
Better to avoid.

5star hotel like feeling but not exactly

Huge hotel looks like 5 star in photos.
There is no valet parking.you get good welcome by huge nagada played by one of the door keeper.there are people who will greet with welcome lemon juice and tilak.
I booked my room for both of us and my 9yr old son got a deal at 7500/-.
Rooms are big and bathroom with bath tub are big.there is no carpet on the floor.the tv in the room is very old.there are coffee and tea in the room that’s good.bed are extra soft.place is very quiet and peace full unless you have some big group or family checked in.apart from room they have pool and spa.pool is huge spa I did not use so can’t comment.they have carrom board and ludo and gym with some equipments.
Apart from this the outdoor area is useless unless you want to click some selfie or walk at night.they don’t have any special programs like puppet show for kids or ghoomer dance or any Rajasthani culture show only one guy sitting in the corner and playing some instruments and sometime he sings marwari songs.
WiFi was not impressive so I chose to remain on my phone data network.
I did not order food in the hotel because when I went to have breakfast I was not very excited after tasting choley bhaturray, idli, bread pakora and other items so I chose to go outside and have my meals (thank god I had my own car)so I could travel out and have food or carry food to hotel.
This is a good hotel if you want to book it for shaadi event and other events.
So in a way if you have not stayed here you are not missing out anything this is what I feel.
