Good hotel, though we disliked the restaurant
Reviewed 2 days ago

This is a beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and helpful staff. It’s conveniently located in Jaipur. The quads are ideal for afternoon tea. We didn’t like the restaurant; the tables are mostly for 5-8 people in a relatively small area. There was no background music and virtually no clients, leaving a cold sterile atmosphere. This was a shame as the rest of the hotel pretty much suited us perfectly.

Queen for a day

From the moment we were collected from the airport we felt we were treated like royalty! Our flight landed very early and I had requested an early check in, to our delight the hotel had our room ready as soon as we arrived. The hotel; a 16th century Maharajan palace is tucked quietly away from all the hustle and bustle of the Pink City behind fortified walls, about a 25 mins drive from the airport. The entire grounds, rooms and all interior areas are highly decorative, steeped in history, opulence and grandeur, they've really captured and maintained that sense of heritage of times gone by. The staff were wonderful, they went completely out of their way to make us feel so comfortable. The restaurant served excellent food and we couldn't fault the service. The grounds are just a lovely place to wander, such a welcomed oasis away from the hectic Pink City just outside the Palace gates.
Breakfast was a feast with a variety of western and Asian food on offer. The hotel is ideally located to explore all of Jaipur's marvelous sight seeing wonders. There was an incredible Indian wedding taking place whilst we were staying at the hotel and even though the hotel did locate us away from the noise, sadly we were still able to hear the celebrations. I spoke to the receptionist who immediately set about finding a solution, somewhere quieter for us to retire. Whilst we were having dinner our belongings were relocated to an exceptional room which used to be the Queens Suite, the interior was quite outstanding and such a generous upgrade! Needless to say we slept extremely well - like a Queen! I would highly recommend a trip to the Raj and be treated like a Queen for the day!

An Oasis of Calm

Located just outside the old city walls this truly magnificent former royal palace is a luxurious respite from the chaos of the city. Breakfast is nice as is dinner both served in a stunning dining room. The staff were excellent, all our requests were dealt with lightning speed and with a smile. I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment and should I ever find myself in Jaipur again this is where I’ll be staying.

We Had the opportunity to stay at the palace for three night on our travels through India. It truly was a angelic experince to be staying at a Indian Palace. The room were decorated in marble and the grounds were immaculately kept. The service was second to none, the whole team Kan, Pargat, Sonia, Jitendar, Nairita and Vishwageet made the stay something to truly remember. start practicing saying to your friends "Yes, we stayed at an Indian Palace"

rooms, staff, hallways, artwork, even the bathrooms make you feel like royalty. it's sad that people felt they needed kings at one point in history but it's beautiful what has been created from history! the palace is 300 years old or something. watch bhool bhulaiyaa before you come! lol
