Nothing fancy but clean and in a great location.

We stayed for a week and other than the tiles and steps being slick with wet feet I had zero complaints. It is close to Tiny Gecko (beach front bar) and the grocery store. The bed was comfortable and the personnel were friendly. I would definitely stay again.

An Excellent Hotel

Little point in repeating the positive comments so to address the complaints.
Low water pressure in shower? Welcome to Mexico. In all the places we stayed in the Yucatan it was the same. Smell from the drains? Welcome to Mexico. With the somewhat basic plumbing in this country you might find this anywhere you stay. Rude staff? Mexicans are nicest people you could wish to meet. Maybe your rudeness was being reflected back at you. Rule #1 be nice to the staff and they will be nice to you. Would recommend this hotel without reservation.

Great visit! Amazing views!

This was our second hotel of our trip and we love Isla Mujeres! Upon arrival the pool and views from Rocamar blew our mind! The view from all rooms is just beautiful oceans. The patios walls are high which helps with privacy and they all have hammocks. Our bed was huge and very comfortable and there was a fridge and (if you care) a tv. This place is so worth it for the price, views, pool, and location. We will be back!

Great location, lots of safety issues

The air conditioner in the room we were given was so loud we had to yell over it. There was 2 unmarked steps in unexpected places in the room. While moving our things from that room, I fell down the random step and ended up with a swollen bruised upper arm. The air conditioner in the second room was barely working, dripping water and flooding the shelf to set suitcases on. Luckily I noticed the water before we set anything there. There was no other room available until the next day. The third room was fine for 3 days, until I sliced my foot open on the bathroom floor. The shower stall was open to the rest of the bathroom but the shower floor was recessed about an inch. The floor tile under the shower area had been cut and installed at a right angle, left rough, not finished in any way! Left me with a nice gash on my foot. Also, there was a 3-4 ft drop off from the lobby/sitting area to the pool area, with no railing. Although the location was great, the staff was fine, and the place was clean, never again! Its dangerous to my health and well-being! And no, I'm not just an accident prone person, lol.

Great Hotel

Left a few days ago and very happy with the hotel. You have to remember coming in this is a 21/2 hotel and if your ok with that you will be happy as well. Location is perfect, away from the noise but very close to downtown and beaches. Room simple and clean. Had hairdryer, fridge, safe, coffee maker and alarm clock, everything we needed. Wifi only works by the front desk. Keep in mind you cant flush toliet paper as for the majority of places on the island. Try to stay on second or third floor facing the water. The views and sound of the water are magnificent. The pool is also facing the water, it is not heated but that didnt stop us ,you get used to it quickly. It is not busy, no trouble getting chairs, often there were just a couple people. There is a hotel cat which is so wonderful Love her, very friendly. The staff were also very nice and pleasant to deal with, although it was minimal as we never had any issues. One of the oldest hotels in the island I was told. I would stay here again in an instant.
