How to Get There
After trying to find a hotel that covers all of our bases, we have to admit that the Rocamar is our favorite. The staff is friendly, the rooms offer private balconies that sit directly in front of the ocean, the pool is clean and maintained and the simple rooms have very comfortable beds, safe included. If you book directly through the hotel, and you pay in cash, they’ll extend a 10% discount. Don’t stay on the bottom floor because the patios are below the walkway outside and passers by can see directly onto your patio. We stayed on the top floor and loved it. You feel removed and in the middle of everything at the same time! My only complaint is that the shower water pressure is low, but considering all the pluses of this hotel, that is not a deal breaker. The coffee maker is a plus because I love bringing my own coffee while waking up and staring at the magnificent sunrise. I highly recommended this hotel!
First time my husband and I stayed here, we came with friends. The room was big and comfortable. We found this hotel pricy, I guess because of the ocean view which was great. The pool area was not bad but hard to relax as it's very windy, the pool was not too cold so that was good. Some of the things that we didn't like was one, when you book you get whatever room they give you. We wanted to be on the same floor as our friends but they said that they can't guarantee that, even though we booked at the same time. When my husband and I went to check about our reservation as we got to the Island a few days before our friends, they said that they can't tell us which rooms that we have. Our friends stayed on the 3rd floor number 13 and we were on the 2nd floor number 7. Number 13 was good in the sense that the people walking by couldn't see them when they were sitting on the balcony, but they couldn't get the WIFI to work properly. Number 7 wasn't that good in the sense that when we sat out on the balcony people that walked by could see us, but our WIFI was working very good, I think because the modem was in our room. The other thing that my husband didn't like was he kept hitting his head on the light that was hanging over on his side of the bed. Over all it was not too bad of a stay, although I have stayed at better and cheaper hotels over the years of going to Isla. So I'm glad I tried this one, but we will not be staying here again.
We stayed for a week and other than the tiles and steps being slick with wet feet I had zero complaints. It is close to Tiny Gecko (beach front bar) and the grocery store. The bed was comfortable and the personnel were friendly. I would definitely stay again.
