Flanked by 123 acres of tropical foliage, the two-story Isla Mujeres Palace combines a casual attitude with contemporary design on the west side of the island. Through a perimeter of windows and an atrium-like ceiling, light fills the round lobby, highlighting its sandy marble floors and colonial white columns. Breezy hallways run throughout the property, connecting interior terraces to the guestrooms, and the lobby to the alfresco restaurant. Closer to the water, hat-shaped thatch roofs and a curtain of palm trees separating the pool and the beach create a rustic vibe.
Bed and Bath
A muted beach decor of soft pastels and plain tiled floors complement Caribbean views from the 62 rooms and suites. All rooms are spacious and have kingsize beds that face walls adorned with Mayan art and flat-screen TVs. Full or partial ocean views are available from most rooms, and central to each is an island for a double Jacuzzi tub and marble sinks, fringed by inlaid stone. For designer L’Occitane bath products, along with other liberal add-ons like two free massages and nightly petit fours, upgrade to the Concierge Level rooms.
Although the resort is short on dining options, Azul works around the clock to serve Caribbean and Mediterranean dishes, which you can enjoy from the restaurant’s terrace, in your room or on the beach. The petite beauty salon and spa menu includes basic manis and pedis and such sensual options as the hot stone couples massages. Indulgence carries over to the lobby and swim-up bar, where tropical drinks are served. Just beyond, beach loungers and palapas line a sedate stretch of sand. Grab a snorkeling mask and jump right into the ocean from one of the resort’s wooden piers, or have the concierge arrange a boat to take you for an off-site scuba dive.
How to Get There
Love beaches , clean water, beautiful small street. Island vibe :) I would love to come back .
A lot of small restaurant and stores. You can rent golf cart and travel over the island. I think it was $60 for 24h.
Total scam ! Buyers beware! Watch out for these guys ! All that glitters is not gold !! The only job they have is scamming people ! They are located across from the ferry near the golf cart place !! Isla mujeres
We had an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful, small, cozy.... The service is fenomenal. The food is unbelievable. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!
The rooms are very clean and confortable. The staff is extremely friendly, they go above and beyond to provide and excellent service. Macedonio, Pedro, Luis, Alejandro, Rafael, Joel, Christian they are all AMAZING!!
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this hotel! From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were treated exceptionally, the attention to detail and customer service was impeccable. We were greeted with glasses of sparkling wine and a rose for my new wife and then taken to our room which was adorned with rose petals, chocolates and more champagne! Things only got better from then, whether it was the superb food, pool games, excursions, cocktails, ceviche, pizza or spa treatments! I would like to call out a special mention to Boris the wonderful entertainment manager, Fermin the attentive pool concierge and Edy for making us awesome off the menu cocktails! We also made some friends while we were staying there which I am sure we will stay in contact with! All in all this is a wonderful place which allowed us to relax after all the stresses of planning a wedding and made sure our honeymoon kicked off to a great start!
We are members of Palace Resorts. We have visited many palace resorts in the past and have been beyond satisfied. Unfortunately Isla Mujeres Palace was VERY disappointing. Our first afternoon at the palace, the power went out (including AC and water). There were no storms or anything to cause this. Two nights later, they finally got the generators up and running but that didn’t include the AC.
When we got our complimentary manicures and pedicures, I got an infection in my toe that caused it
to swell up and eventually ooze pus.
We used $400 of our resort credits to go on a
romantic dinner. After being seated outside for the first half of our meal, we were moved to a table inside. After being inside for about 5 minutes, the
generators shut down. We finally got our entree’s but after we didn’t see another server for 45 minutes. They brought us a TINY dessert that
wasn’t the same as the other couples having their romantic dinner and definitely NOT worth the money we paid.
Where our room was located, we were right above
the trash and the generators. So not only were the generators loud, but there were cats around the trash that were extremely loud all night long. We
didn’t have one good night sleep all week between being hot and waken up by cats or generators.
If you have ever stayed at a Palace Resort, you know how well they are known for their impeccable
service. For the most part, this was true for Isla Mujeres. There were a select few bartenders who were very disrespectful and acted almost annoyed
that we came up to the bar and asked for some drinks.
Along with the disrespectful bartenders, the alcohol was very diluted. I had drink after drink l, even shot after shot, without feeling a thing. When we went off
the resort to a bar for drinks, we were both feeling pretty good after just one drink. We thought it was just a suspicion until we looked at other reviews of
the resort and others had said the same thing.
We do not recommend staying at the Isla Mujeres Palace resort. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.
