How to Get There
Can not say enough about the friendliness of the staff. All the staff did everything possible to make our trip an enjoyable one. We loved our Casita bungalow and the relaxing atmosphere at The Explorean
This our second trip to the Explorean and we will be going back when time permits. The rooms are very nice and the location of the property (set in the Jungle) are perfect for us, You have a choice of several restaurants and every one of them serve wonderful food. The biggest reason we choose this place is that you can snorkel right out in front of the Fiesta Americana. The entire staff are friendly and always willing to help. There is one person we want to give a shout out to and that is Jose at the La Cevicheria on the beach. Jose works extremely hard making sure everyone has a drink and something to eat (Recommend Fish Taco's) Jose remembered us from a year ago. Amazing. Jose save us a place on the beach. Ken & Lori.
It was an incredible surprise to discover this hotel... the food was amazing, the service couldn’t be better... compared to the fiesta americana it was always nice to go back to a pretty, calm athmosphere..
the tours were Lots of fun and everyone goes out their way up make you feel like home ..
We have to mention our tour guides with their top notch service... Renata, Joshua, Alvaro and the bartender Roberto, Juan.. waiters Fermin, Jesus, Carlos, Ayadani.
The people at fiesta Americana: José at the cevicheria, victor and Enrique.
Can’t remember them all but everybody was incredibly nice and warm.
We totally plan to come back, thank you so much.
We visited the Discover Mexico park today and had an excellent visit! We had the opportunity to learn about the history of chocolate and make some to take home. Renata and Joshua were excellent tour guides and made the trip very fun and informative! The guide at the park was an excellent source of information for Mayan history. I wish I could remember his name. This is definitely worth a couple hour visit.
I am the type of person that does a lot of research before making a decision, and the decision to choose the Explorean in Cozumel was an excellent one! From the included excursions, to the employees, to the hotel itself and the ability to use Fiesta Americana it was a definite winner in my book!
The daily included excursions created a nice break in the day. Yours may be different as I am sure they vary them, but ours was snorkeling on a boat which took us to three different locations, a sunset kayaking trip that ended with a private dinner, a different kayaking trip up the coast where we stopped to snorkel, a jeep excursion where we got to drive our own jeeps around visiting a beach for about an hour and small Mayan ruins with tequila tasting, and visiting a steam bath which was quite interesting!
When we returned there was never a shortage of food or drinks to be had and the employees were really wonderful and attentive, especially Roberto! As well, the resort itself had a nice atmosphere where you felt like you were in the jungle and it was really peaceful. If you wanted a little more activity you could always go to the neighboring hotel’s pool for a bit of higher energy, or head down to the beach where there was never a shortage of nice lounge chairs, hammocks or beach beds (at least in April, which I guess is still considered their low season - it was amazing the small number of people there seemed to be). There is not a sand beach there so be prepared for that. They have stairs leading into the water where the snorkeling is quite good.
There was a choice of restaurants, one at the Explorean which was only allowed to be used by us, and at the Fiesta Americana where we could eat as well. There was a Japanese restaurant, Italian, Mexican, buffet, seafood, and a hamburger hotdog place. We aren’t huge seafood or Mexican food fans but we found there were plenty of choices, and if there was something not on the menu we wanted the employees at the Explorean were more than happy to try to accommodate us!
I would not hesitate to recommend the Explorean or go back there at a later time!
