Absolutely the kindest and most caring staff of any resort I have been to! The Explorean Cozumel takes wonderful care!

Returned for our 3rd time to The Explorean Cozumel and just as enchanted this visit as previous! The resort is beautiful, tucked away in the jungle behind the Fiesta Americana. This way you have the best of both worlds - private, quiet, secluded area with a private pool and restaurant; but you still have access to the party which is Fiesta Americana. The activities included at the Explorean are always fun - jeep tour, snorkeling trip, paddle boarding, "Discover Mexico" tour, we enjoyed them all very much. The staff at the restaurant and bar take such wonderful care of the guests! We truly enjoyed talking with Roberto, Alfonso, Fermin, Javier and Juan. It's special that they take the time to know and remember your preferences - by the end of a week there, they make excellent recommendations for food and drink. It was great! The desk staff were also welcoming and always wanting to make sure you have what is needed. Marco, Victor, Guillermo, Darwin - all making our visit top notch! The island of Cozumel is beautiful and the resort in a very easy location. You can quickly hop in a cab and head downtown for about $6 if you crave the busier atmosphere. We were happy to enjoy the beautiful resort and spend days on the ocean snorkeling and diving. Highly recommend The Explorean in Cozumel!

Celebrating our 25th Anniversary

We are staying for 10 days to celebrate our very first all inclusive at the Explorean Cozumel after Wbeing married for 25 years. We have three days left of our stay and the service is just as good and or even getting better each day. Today, we were pretty impressed coming home from a long day excursion to Chichen Itza only to find a neatly arranged romantic bed with flowers, all done by Ana Rosa and company who makes sure our rooms are cleaned and sanitized each day of our stay, all towels are replaced. The amenities at the Explorean is topped by the restaurant with its amazing night crew: from the Chefs Mario, Candy, Jesus, and Leydi. The headwaiter Javier and waiters: Alfonso, Juan, Roberto and Fermin. Alfonso and Fermin take perfect care of our orders and serve us like it's our last. If you care for alcoholic drinks, Juan is the "go-to-person" who'll make all the concoctions to your desire. Roberto is quick to respond to our needs whenever we need something. it would be unfair not to mention the day crew as well. Head waiter Luis who spot checks what's needed and Juan Carlos who stands out with his big smile greeting and serving us in the morning. Of course Hostess Danieli, Chef Daniel and the other waiter Carlos are not to be overlooked.
We also enjoy the amenities at Fiesta Americana that we had access to. We were fortunate to be able to join the Independence Celebration with lots of food, music, and the wrestling entertainment by the staff. Kudos to all of you. All the staff are just amazing. We would highly recommend the All Inclusive Explorean.

Tranquility and Beauty combined

Absolutely loved our time at this all-inclusive resort. The place is beautiful. The food was delicious. However, it’s the people of the Explorean Cozumel and its sister resort Fiesta Americana Cozumel that will have you enjoying every moment and looking forward to returning.
As for the place, the scenery is stunning as it has a tropical jungle feel to it with tropical fauna at every turn. There is an intimacy that makes this a wonderful place to be romantic. They are not an adult only resort so you will see some families, but don’t let that deter you because it is very quiet and relaxing. Another plus for the Explorean guests is that you can use the Fiesta Americana hotel’s amenities as well as the ones available at the Explorean. Since they can’t use the Explorean’s amenities, this makes the Explorean very quiet. You will split time between both resorts because at the Fiesta American you have stunning beach and waterfront views and so much more.
As for the food, you have the Explorean restaurant and Fiesta Americana restaurants to choose from. Do breakfast at least once at the Explorean, but I recommend enjoying the water views from Fiesta Americana Vina Del Mar while eating breakfast. It is heaven!!! The Grill on the beach is a must do for the Fish Tacos. Even Cozumel locals come there to get them. My wife loved them. I am vegetarian yet at every restaurant they can accommodate any food restrictions you may have. Just ask. Lunch is great at Vina Del Mar also. As for dinner, the Explorean restaurant is great and the Fiesta Americana Mexican & Rosata were very nice also. MUST GET is the Choccolitto, chocolate cake desert at Rosata. Didn’t make it to the Peninsula the Asian food restaurant or the Sushi. There is Room Service, yet with an extra charge.
Now to the best part, the people and staff of the Explorean and Fiesta Americana. I’ll start with the excursions crew. Part of the draw of the Explorean is that there are free daily activities and you will get a schedule from your concierge once you check in. There are also other off-site activities that you pay for separately which you can discuss with your concierge about. As for the excursion crew, they are a group of people who love their job because what they do is deliver activities that are fun, learning and grounded in Mayan culture. You will learn that the Yucatan of Mexico is Mayan and the experiences you get there will be a part of you forever. You will meet most of the staff through excursions or just nice casual conversation around the grounds. Everyone is so friendly. I spoke already about the food, but it is nothing without the wonderful cooks and servers. I’ll discuss more later.
Now I must talk about the people who assist you at everything you need during your visit which are the concierges. These people are here to make sure your stay is wonderful, and they really do a great job at it. If you need something, have any issues, want to change something, etc., they are a small walk to the front. What I love most is that they all work together although you are assigned with a concierge upon arrival. We were blessed to have Vanessa work with us. I have special thank you for her at the bottom.
Bottom line is that my wife and I loved our stay and will return to the Explorean Cozumel and are looking at staying at the Explorean Kohunlich and other Fiesta Americana resorts as well. What a wonderful vacation!

My personal Thank you list:
Excursions:
I want to thank Renata and Alvaro with our Island tour and sunset kayak. I want to thank Andrea and Luis with our bike and Cenote visit. I want to give thanks to Sebastian who we had great conversations and fun with discussing everything about Cozumel and the Explorean. I must give extra special thanks to Andrea for retrieving my phone I left on a bus and thanks again to you and Luis for our time at the Cenote. Lastly, a huge thank you and appreciation to Renata for her strong love towards educating us on the importance of Mayan culture that permeates every ounce of Cozumel and the Riviera Maya. She is going to make sure everyone learns and has fun at the same time. Thank you all to the excursions crew.
The staff, servers, chefs, and every person who helps maintain the beauty and enjoyment of the rooms, restaurants, pools and all the grounds:
I want to thank Gloria for taking care of our room each day. I want to thank the extra special people who served us with food all over both resorts. First a big thank you to Alfonso and Roberto. From our first night dining and throughout our time there, you guys were amazing. Extra big thanks to Alfonso for having our food hurried to us because we had two excursions and only had a 45-minute window between them to eat. I want to thank my meseros at Fiesta Americana Vina del Mar, Isabel, Gabriel, Hector, Manuel. I also want to give thanks to a nice hostess, Catalina. Thank you for the perfect omelet every breakfast, Lucinda. Gotta give extra special thanks to El Capitan, My Man, Ruben. He will have you smiling every time you see him. Big thank you to Emanuel who served us at the restaurant Mexicano and at our sunset kayak experience. Great conversation. If you eat at Grills on the beach, I hope you get Edgar. Big thank you sir for really taking care of us while relaxing in the cabana. My wife loved those fish tacos and I loved my veggie tacos. Thank you. A great man was first man I saw arriving and last one when leaving, Pedro. Class. Friendly. Wonderful. Just to give a few descriptions. Thank you for welcoming us.
Concierge:
Everyone and anyone can assist you at any time. These four people Vanessa, Darwin, Guillermo and Marco are extra special for us. Always a smile. Always felt good seeing you. Always looking out for us. Always made us feel comfortable and like family. Thank you, Guillermo, for always making sure we get to where we need to be. Thank you, Darwin and Marco, for always being there and a great conversation about so many things. I want to thank Darwin again for being so informative and providing so much attentiveness. You are the man. To Vanessa, thank you one million times and I still could not thank you enough. You truly took care of us and we will always thank you and look forward to crossing paths with you again. You are an amazing person and wonderful concierge.
Thank you all and I am truly sorry if I missed anyone. Let me know when I get back. Last one. It was truly a pleasure meeting and talking with you, Mirko. We won’t forget you either.
