Reviews

Nice resort, but dated with very limited dining.

The rooms were clean and the staff is very friendly. This was our second visit to Secrets Aura and expected more updating to have been done since 2016, but much of the resort was the same. It is a clean resort and the water is crystal clear, but the beach is very rocky so swim shoes are a must. The price is right for the quality of the resort, but the best meal we had all week was at Alberto's Beach Bar (a must do if in Cozumel!!!) and Senor Iguana's on the back side of the island provided an excellent lunch!

Great Resort - Beautiful Location

I recently stayed here for three nights and had a great time. The staff was friendly, (ask for Nicolas at the Oceana restaurant, nicest guy), the food was well prepared, the drinks were heavily poured, and the beach was beautiful. Couldn't have asked for a better time!

My parents planned a getaway trip to Mexico with my two adult brothers and I. Overall, we had a great time and I don’t want to seem overly critical. Secrets advertises as having ‘amenities of Unlimited-Luxury.’ However, the resort itself leaves much to be desired.

A few things...
-Mexico is humid and a reasonable amount of condensation is expected. Unfortunately, the hallways and common areas became so saturated that people were slipping and falling.
-The pool and hot tub heating system wasn’t functioning correctly and the water was very cold.
-The restaurants had limited selections and strange hours. If we didn’t arrive within a short window, we wouldn’t get served. Also, the restaurants couldn’t keep up with the number of guests. The quality of food was subpar.
-The service staff was interesting. We agreed that the employees who were local to the area were much friendlier and more accommodating.

Secrets is a good option for the price. I think they are reaching when claiming ‘Unlimited-Luxury.’
