How to Get There
Review of staff:
#1. Wilberth(activities) was STELLAR. He honestly made our trip 100% better in many ways! If you get the chance to meet him consider yourself lucky! He will be missed on our return home.
#2. Israel (activities)- fun and full of energy
#3. Darwin ( manatees bar bartender)- makes AMAZING drinks and always serves with a smile!
Resort: small, spread out, and somewhat difficult to figure out for the first couple of days. The service was somewhat lacking... the people were polite and always served with a smile but few and far between wait staff. The food was ok but wait times were quite long for food (especially at gohan- it was a 3 hour process one night 😬). The buffet was great for breakfast as well as Oceania restaurant with amazing views to start the day. No complaints with our room ( swimout, pool view)... LOVED the hammocks! All in all it took me a few days to settle in to this resort... however when i finally did it was a lovely vacation.
The beach was beautiful, building well decorated, great food, great service, but poorly maintained facility. No response to a water leek from a light fixture in the honeymoon suite but to replace a light bulb. Absolutely ridiculous dress code. No equality for men (and I'm a woman.) I have been to many resorts in Mexico and never experienced these dress codes. A woman can have her bathing suit top off but a man can't go in a restaurant wearing a nice sleeveless shirt.
The hotel staff at this resort were very friendly and I don’t have complaints about the staff or service. However the overall maintenance of this resort was extremely poor. Our room leaked water through a light fixture every day and when I would call somebody about it, it would take minimum an hour for somebody to come check it out and all they would do was change a lightbulb. There was very little concern that it was leaking, let alone looked like it had been leaking for months. Our side door was broken all the way off the hinges so it wouldn’t shut correctly. I was very disappointed with the maintenance. Will not be back.
We loved Secrets Aura Cozumel! Our server Gilberto was wonderful and always had us a drink and food with a smile right to our beach chair! He could answer all questions about the resort! Will definitely return in the future!
The resort is laid out like a maze and needs better signage. Snorkeling is great even right off the beach. Food was not up to par. Only good meals were at Sunscape Mexican & Sushi. Everything closes 30min before the stated times. Lady at the Sky Bar was very rude when I would not give here my seat cushions 30min before they closed.
