How to Get There
First of all let me say this resort is great; however, being a spoiled American traveler I just wanted to point out a couple of things. Not that they were necessarily bad, but so that other travelers are not surprised.
First we waited for a bit to check in because there was only one person at the front desk. During our wait, there was an individual offering to get drinks and staff came to check how we were doing. Our room was on the 8th floor an very nice; however, the room will not get below 22° C (71.6 °F) no matter what you set it at. If you want it to get that low, you have to keep the blackout shades drawn.
For the most part, service was impeccable. There were a couple of blemishes, but nothing to stress about. I would have preferred that there were actually servers coming by while we were lounging around. The pool bars closed around 6 pm depending on how busy they were. This was really annoying because we usually got back from our outings around 5:30 to 6 pm. The adult pool area closed at 8 pm.
The food was good. The best restaurant was the Italian restaurant. The grouper dish was delicious. The buffet and snack bars were good. The bikini snack bar was less stocked and up kept than the other snack bar. The 3 restaurants required that you wear pants and a collared shirts. It was nice being able to get ice cream at almost anytime at the coffee and dessert shop.
Overall, I did enjoy this establishment and will probably come back. It would have been nice if the general store allowed you to charge to your room instead of only accepting pesos.
We stayed with two kids, 9&8 , three days and two nights. Pools were great! Kids club was excellent. All grounds extremely clean and beautiful. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was awesome.
The only thing lacking a little was the quality of lunch/ dinner. It was really good for most buffets, but didn’t quite live up to the quality of the rest of the resort, but we loved it!!!
We really enjoy this resort. Our second trip and we will be back. Diving is very good. We love the island and the people are very nice at the resort. We recommend it. Beautiful place. Grounds are well kept. The Dive Shop next door is convenient and Carmelo is a very good five master.
My family and I have been to this resort 12+ years now and have always spoke highly of it to our friends. My sister got engaged in the Italian restaurant and married on the beach at this resort. After waiting two days for a room with properly working air conditioning and a serious decline in the quality of food this year, I had to apologize to friends that joined us because it was disappointing. The Caribbean restaurant went from authentic Cozumel cuisine to mediocre American seafood. The snack bars changed the quality of burger a couple years ago, but this year they precooked them and reheated them when ordered. It has always been a good value, but after this trip I think my family will try a new resort next year.
The resort was very safe. It has three lovely pools and plenty of lounge chairs. The resort was very clean. There are three restaurants with themes and a buffet restaurant. We enjoyed the ice 🍦cream parlor as an evening treat.
