Mediocre at best

First, I would like to state that this is not a luxury hotel. Despite the title they give themselves in the name. I’ve stayed at several hotels on this island and this is by far the worst. The staff is friendly, but that doesn’t cancel out the overall cleanliness of the hotel. The biggest thing that grossed me out was a freshly laundered towel was placed in my room with someone’s leftover pubic hair and yellow stains all over it. Thankfully I brought my own face towels from home so I didn’t have to rub my face in their towels. Next, our bedsheets and pillowcases were stained with black marks all over. If that doesn’t ruin your night’s sleep, then maybe the lumpy pillows will. I had to sleep pillowless majority of my stay. I also found lipstick on glasses when dining. Now let’s talk about the food. I’m no picky eater by any means, but I managed to always be hungry here. The food was just terrible. The only place I’d recommend eating is the Mexican restaurant that requires reservations. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a joke. Stick to the fresh fruits there and you’ll be fine. The pool areas by the ocean are nice. And the staff there are very friendly. Just a suggestion, please clean out the grease from the deep fryer at Marlins more often. Nothing smells worse than old, dirty fryer grease in the air. Again, I’ve stayed at several hotels on this island (I’ve been coming here for 16 years) and this place always looked so luxurious, but fell very short of any standards. Wanted to love it here, but sadly, I won’t be coming back. Raise your standards if you want to call yourself a Luxury Resort. You’re giving luxury a bad name.

This place makes you feel very special. . .

We went to the Grand Park Royal Cozumel Luxury Resort in June 2019. Beautiful place. Super clean, well maintained, and a wonderful staff. Very guest-friendly. We especially liked the way the resort used their beach front area. Instead of just a traditional beach, there were two different types of restaurants/bars, two infinity pools, a large hot tub, and a small but very nice area of beachfront for the sand lovers. We absolutely LOVED it that one of their restaurants was adults only, with a glass wall overlooking a fantastic adults-only infinity pool. SSssooo relaxing! There were also other restaurants, snack bars, etc. around the property. A great place for kids. Cruise ships were in port there every day. But there was one very BIG negative. They are all-inclusive, and the food was terrible - and we are not complainers or picky eaters. Hopefully they can fix this in the future. That would have made it perfect.

Wonderful vacation
