How to Get There
We have been visiting our time share since 1978 and the staff has been very diligent in keeping the unit as welcoming as possible. It is especially good for youngsters as the water is shallow at this beach and the pools are well managed.
Found this gem in 2017 and came back again this year based on having a bedroom with twin beds for our kids and another bedroom with a king size for parents. We were more than pleasantly surprised to find the beautifully appointed 2 bedroom condo with full kitchen stocked for everything one can need. And a murphy bed to boot! We were on the ground floor - walk right out to the pool. We had the all inclusive which our kids, then ages 7 and 9, thought was the single greatest thing in all the land. There are 2 pools, one more kid friendly and shallow which is where our boys were most of the time. The beach is long but narrow. The water is incredibly calm - almost boring according to my kids as there are no waves but there's a volleyball net in the water and another on the beach. The kids club is fantastic with many options. Also 3 tennis courts, basketball on one of them, and a fabulous activity center that lends out everything from tennis rackets to bikes to SUP to kayaks.
The staff couldn't be lovelier, especially the wait staff in the Palapa where our kids preferred to eat most of our meals. Breakfast in the open air palapa with the beach 10 feet away is the most wonderful part of the day for me.
Lastly, for a family with kids looking for a perfect vacation with a great value, we couldn't recommend this resort more highly as it's small, quiet, low key and extremely family friendly. We never thought we'd return and are thrilled we did. We will be back again indeed. Only thing is that we have opted not to sit through the timeshare presentation. Doing so offers you great deals but we opted out to have more time enjoying the resort and Cancun.
Hotel royalton excellent trip I its the best on Cancun very good i like and the people work there very good attendance especially the people it's on the beach Paez Alejandro and Victor I be back for sure
From the moment you drive onto the property, you will notice how manicured everything is and how professional the staff looks and how helpful. Everyone was smiling and "at your service". The unit we stayed in for our vacation was just like a home. Everything you need is there. When we left, the two questions were: When can we come back and Can we stay for two weeks next time.
This resort is beautifully situated, right on the beach with two lovely pools. The hotel markets itself as a “home from home” however there are so many rules and restrictions it makes it difficult to relax and enjoy yourself. Right away you are encouraged to take up “offers” if you sit through a presentation about a sister hotel. We are only here for a week and did not want to sit through a presentation on our first day so politely declined. We subsequently received a phone call from front desk asking for us to explain our reasons. You cannot pre-book the one a la carte restaurant and we were told to call at 8.15 a.m on the day you wish to dine. Not surprisingly I don’t feel like setting my alarm on holiday to guarantee a table at a restaurant for that evening. All of the above is at best, tolerable, but what I have found intolerance is the amount of rules and restrictions placed upon us. The “security” monitor the pool and ask you for your room number and write in their little books. The children have been told off for jumping into the deep end of the pool. Not diving or bombing, simply jumping (with no-one else around). Isn’t that part of the fun of a pool? My kids are well behaved, respectful and polite but they are 3 boys on holiday who want to play. They now feel they are being watched and are at risk of being told off. I have raised this with the manager and Have said I will take responsibility but have been told the rule is there due to risk of injury. I understand that but I am there supervising at all times and every activity in life carries with it an element of risk. I have never known a hotel, public pool or otherwise where jumping in the deep end of a pool is deemed to be too great a risk of harm. This is how children build their confidence around water. This morning everyone was feeling a bit worn out so I offered to go to the breakfast buffet and bring some takeaway back to the room for everyone. We are all inclusive and I had seen other people carrying takeaway boxes to their rooms. When I got there I was told I was not allowed and was wrong when I mentioned I had seen other people with boxes. My entire family would either need to attend the restaurant or we would need to order room service. The restaurant manager eventually came over and “allowed” me on this occasion to takeaway and returned with the “takeaway boxes” (the ones I had made up in my mind) but I was made to feel embarrassed and awkward and was twice asked for my room number. When I got back to my room we received a call from the reception saying they had received a report we had left our outside light on. It’s just too much. We are here to relax and enjoy ourselves and have paid for the flexibility of all inclusive for this reason. I understand the need for some rules but My kids cannot even go and help themselves to a drink or an ice cream (as they have done in other all inclusive hotels). Here You need to order these from a member of staff and hand in your room number and sign for it!! We have made the decision to get a shuttle bus to
one of the sister hotels each day for the remainder of our holiday as we do not feel comfortable here.
