Get the royal treatment at Royal Sunset Beach Resort, sitting on one of the most beautiful shores in the Mexican Caribbean and the sought-after Cancun hotel zone. This stay has it all: comfortable rooms and suites, a variety of gourmet dining experiences (including a dinner theater), a spa inspired by ancient Mayan techniques, water sports, yoga and guided bicycle tours. And with kids’ activities, it’s also a great choice when you’ve got a royal family in tow.
Beyond the resort is the best of Cancun nightlife, shopping and restaurants, including popular Coco Bongo, Señor Frogs and Carlos ‘n’ Charlie’s. But the fun goes on here, too, like at the yacht club and lagoon, designed to get you close to Mexico’s sea life. And the daily itinerary of activities isn’t so sparse, with options like Pilates, cooking lessons, poolside fashion shows, shopping tours and beach volleyball – it really is a taste of Cancun’s best. Or shall we say, a royal flush?
A romantic escape, each Royal Sunset accommodation brings together comfort and Caribbean charm. These abodes each hold sleek furnishings, a balcony or terrace with lagoon or ocean views, a kitchenette with utensils and robes and slippers for two. The 473-square-foot Junior suites come with a queen bed and offer a balcony or terrace with a view of either the sea or the lagoon.
Sunset Royal’s five restaurants offer five unique dining experiences, inspired by international cuisine and the Riviera Maya. Find international-buffet breakfasts and lunches at Acuario and Cappricio, dinner shows at Moonlight Theater, casual eats and cocktails at Aqua Grill and sophisticated Asian-fusion dinners at Bamboo.
Ya’ax Che Spa draws from ancient Mayan wisdom and modern technology to relax your mind and rejuvenate your body. Treatments incorporate natural ingredients, like lemongrass, lime, jasmine, aloe, organic honey and rainforest flowers. From the Massage with Mezcal & Lime in Chaya and Red Wine Massage to the Lavender Rosemary Body Wrap and a full-service beauty salon, its menu promises a complete spa experience, from head to toe.
One of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico, Cancun is known for its beaches and party atmosphere. But as much as it boasts in nightlife, it offers in low-key relaxation and heart-racing adventure. From watching the sunsets and going shopping to touring ancient Mayan-ruin sites and the jungle, a variety of tropical activities can be enjoyed here. The larger Riviera Maya is also home to Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel and Puerto Morelos – other unique destinations, each with its own history and pristine shores.
How to Get There
Not a 4.5 star hotel more interested in selling you timeshares and only focusing on members who had them. The food was very basic with not a lot of choice and the same stuff every day which I found very boring and hard to eat.
The hotel is fantastic and is a great place to stay. Raphael on the beach was extremely helpful and always made sure we were taken care of. The spa was also incredible. There are always many fun activities by the pool.
What a wonderful trip. The resort is always very clean and the staff outstanding. The beach porter Rafael is excellent and made the days at the beach much more enjoyable. The food could be a little better in the Portofino restaurant but the rest of the stay was just so beautiful. No complaints.
