Get the royal treatment at Royal Sunset Beach Resort, sitting on one of the most beautiful shores in the Mexican Caribbean and the sought-after Cancun hotel zone. This stay has it all: comfortable rooms and suites, a variety of gourmet dining experiences (including a dinner theater), a spa inspired by ancient Mayan techniques, water sports, yoga and guided bicycle tours. And with kids’ activities, it’s also a great choice when you’ve got a royal family in tow.
Beyond the resort is the best of Cancun nightlife, shopping and restaurants, including popular Coco Bongo, Señor Frogs and Carlos ‘n’ Charlie’s. But the fun goes on here, too, like at the yacht club and lagoon, designed to get you close to Mexico’s sea life. And the daily itinerary of activities isn’t so sparse, with options like Pilates, cooking lessons, poolside fashion shows, shopping tours and beach volleyball – it really is a taste of Cancun’s best. Or shall we say, a royal flush?
A romantic escape, each Royal Sunset accommodation brings together comfort and Caribbean charm. These abodes each hold sleek furnishings, a balcony or terrace with lagoon or ocean views, a kitchenette with utensils and robes and slippers for two. The 473-square-foot Junior suites come with a queen bed and offer a balcony or terrace with a view of either the sea or the lagoon.
Sunset Royal’s five restaurants offer five unique dining experiences, inspired by international cuisine and the Riviera Maya. Find international-buffet breakfasts and lunches at Acuario and Cappricio, dinner shows at Moonlight Theater, casual eats and cocktails at Aqua Grill and sophisticated Asian-fusion dinners at Bamboo.
Ya’ax Che Spa draws from ancient Mayan wisdom and modern technology to relax your mind and rejuvenate your body. Treatments incorporate natural ingredients, like lemongrass, lime, jasmine, aloe, organic honey and rainforest flowers. From the Massage with Mezcal & Lime in Chaya and Red Wine Massage to the Lavender Rosemary Body Wrap and a full-service beauty salon, its menu promises a complete spa experience, from head to toe.
One of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico, Cancun is known for its beaches and party atmosphere. But as much as it boasts in nightlife, it offers in low-key relaxation and heart-racing adventure. From watching the sunsets and going shopping to touring ancient Mayan-ruin sites and the jungle, a variety of tropical activities can be enjoyed here. The larger Riviera Maya is also home to Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel and Puerto Morelos – other unique destinations, each with its own history and pristine shores.
How to Get There
We loved our stay at Sunset Royal. All the services were exceptional and the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. The dining at each of the restaurants was very good. Our favorite evening show was "Street Jam!"
The staff at sunset is what makes this place so unique. They are all so friendly and go out of their way to help. I love this place! The spa is also fantastic. The beach is perfect as well as Raphael who runs the pool and beach staff. He served us frozen grapes on the beach every day! This is our 13th year.
Oscar and Neybi, of the activities staff made the trip very memorable and fun for the entire family. They were outstanding! There were activities for young and old and all were fun. Both the adults and the children thought these made the trip extra enjoyable.
I am a new Ascendant Holiday Platinum Member . Me, my wife and daughter were given holiday vacation package for 5 days 4 nights here in Sunset Royal Beach Resort Cancun. We arrived in the hotel and checked in at 11:30am. We were serviced by Luis in the check-in. We were given a room but was asked if we wanted to upgrade to a jacuzzi and kingsize bed with “ocean view” for $200USD which we did. Went to the room 307 only to find out that it is still occupied. Then proceed to show us a similar room 107 in the first floor. He told us that as soon as the room is available we will be informed.
2 hours passed still not available. 3PM came and was excited for our room. he showed us the room 307 only to find that it is not an “ocean view”. I was disappointed and a little mad that Luis did not clear to us that it is not “ocean view” for the price when me and my wife heard that it is an “ocean view”. He then offered a partial view of the ocean for the upgrade. I declined and proceeded to our original room 210 with no upgrade.
I will post pictures of the quality of the washroom that we were in.
To make matters worst on our 2nd night, coming back from dinner, we were surprised to see a cochroach crawling on the floor just above the kitchen and buffet where food is being served. I will post a video.
When I opened the sliding door to let fresh air inside. a gust of wind came in then my wife screamed because the light cover came off and dropped in the floor that almost hit her. luckily she was not hurt.
The resort is fabulous. The view and the beach is beautiful. The service was wonderful and all employees were freiendly and helpful. It was convenient to get around and their bus service was nice to get to each of their properties.
