The Good Things: the room was modern, well equipped and had good views. Buffet breakfast was good, although it could be better e.g. for an adults only hotel, cereal choices including coco pops are unimaginative - how about some decent muesli and some full fat yoghurt rather than sickenly sweet low fat rubbish? Buffet lunch very good - only tip would be to require people to be dry when they come inside to eat - wet chairs from soaking wet swim shorts don’t make an appetising alternative. Pools were lovely, clean and spacious. Beach gorgeous. Pool butler service on 12th floor attentive - well done to Alesandro Diaz who did a great job of looking after us. Gym well equipped although the aircon could be better as running inside at 30 degrees C isn’t comfortable.
The Bad bits: evening meal organisation not good. Several nights we couldn’t get in to eat because despite having multiple restaurants, they don’t take bookings. Being told to eat at 6pm if you want to be sure to get a seat isn’t really appropriate for a supposedly 5 star establishment. Being told to come back in 1.5-2 hours isn’t appropriate either. Food in the a la carte restaurants was reasonable but not amazing. Ambience was spoiled in a couples, romance style hotel by large groups of very loud people making it difficult to speak to your partner across the table. I would recommend a buffet evening meal to be available without reservations and the other a la carte restaurants to require bookings and no large groups. One night the food was so delayed (1 hour to get a starter served and no bread), food awful and noise so loud, we walked out. And another night we didn’t get any dinner at all. I commend Jessica (a restaurant manager) for sorting out our complaint proactively. But she shouldn’t have had to do what she did. Finally, the wine list - if you are trying to persuade people on all inclusive packages to buy wine, give them a paper wine menu to search and not a tablet where the search didn’t even successfully find white wine, let alone a Sauvignon. Also, there should be an allowance against the cost of a bottle rather than paying for all inclusive wine and then paying full price for an upgrade.
Overall, probably OK for a long weekend in the sun, but won’t be going back.
Went to Cancun with family. Met Angel during the afternoon dance classes. Had a really good time dancing. He was energetic, fun, and encouraging. Cant wait to dance again next trip! See you next time!
Great food, great dance lesson with angel entertainment team. Great weather, delicious food. Great room service. Beautiful beach. Really enjoyed this resort. Food was great and hospitality. I will return.
