Beautiful hotel
Reviewed 19 hours ago

The hotel itself is absolutely stunning!!! Security was extremely high - double checking/triple checking. The bathroom/shower is so cool. The staff was amazing - very kind and helpful. Since the hotel is 18+ yrs of age and up you don't have to worry about kids screaming and splashing in the pool. The food was good - some restaurants better than others. I found that if you are dressed up, you tend to have better service. The drinks were just ok. If you stick with wine, beer, shots you'll be fine. The frozen mixed drinks were not good at all. I think it was the juice/mixers they used (not good quality).

Suggestions for the hotel: Offer a pool DJ and pump music into the pool area. Several people had their own little boom boxes and it was distracting at times. It would be nice if there was a DJ to control the pool music and drive the crowd.

I will definitely return to this hotel.

Vacation 2018

Secrets the Vine was a beautiful place to stay and the people were all wonderful to us except the front desk. They were very rude and not accomaditing at all. My husband and I were traveling with another couple and excited to stay at secrets we requested a king size bed and asked the hotel if they could place our friends and us on the same floor. Well checked in we were not on the same floor and we did not get a king size bed but the other couple received the king size bed. We were told that they had no other rooms left with kings. I said we booked a king and they told me it was the wrong type suite I picked. I asked to see a manager after numerous conversations back and forth about the room we booked. We waited almost twenty minutes and the result was we can move you the next day into a another room unacceptable. I was very disappointed how the whole situation was handled and I booked this trip months before I arrived and there customer service was horrible. I will never stay at another secrets resort again. On a lighter note the entertainment team was wonderful we had so much fun hanging out with them playing pictionatry in the pool with Felipe and Jessica and Jorge. We had Spanish lessons everyday which was also a lot of fun. We had conversations with lots of our waiters one that stands out was at the Italian restaurant Sergio who was a wonderful waiter and gave us a special dessert on our last night. The pool bartenders were wonderful Veronica and Oliver awesome at keeping everyone happy . The entertainment was great we saw some awesome shows especially the 4th of July it was wonderful and the fireworks were awesome . Every morning we were greeted with smiles for breakfast and the young gentleman I think his name was halendro was always accommodating always had a mimosas waiting for me . On our last day Dianna made us a special breakfast telling us to have a safe trip. I know I cannot remember everyone 's names but they were all wonderful. Especially Felipe he has a wonderful personality. I will say Secrets has a wonderful group of staff working there but not the front desk. They need some lessons or how to be a little more sympathetic and accommodating. Thanks secrets to the staff for a wonderful vacation.

Secrets the Vine Cancun: Badly run hotel, far short of 5 star
Reviewed 2 days ago

In short, this is a very poorly run hotel that is nowhere near a five star resort. Having chosen it based on reviews as Le Blanc Spa is closed, I was promised a luxury spa resort. Instead, the hotel struggles from a number of demotivated staff, many of whom regard customers as a mere inconvenience, several guests with utterly inappropriate behaviour, hopeless food and poor service. This hotel is perfect if you enjoy a sewage smell in the main building, having to constantly solve problems yourself, constant noise everywhere (despite a sign prohibiting “boom boxes” at the pool, at least half a dozen were playing with no interest from the staff) and of course the classic no loungers available, despite most people leaving their stuff all day and never using them.

The good news is I have learned Secrets is a brand to avoid at all costs. A truly horrendously managed resort, which senior management within the group should attend to as a matter of urgency.

Luxurious and Relaxing Get Away
Reviewed 2 days ago

My husband and I visited for four nights the end of May. We have stayed at several Secrets resorts and other Cancun resorts and The Vine is one of our absolute favorites. The resort is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, and the rooms are large and luxurious with very comfortable beds. We stayed in the preferred club, and to us it was worth it to be on a higher floor. We didn't get to try all the restaurants but we enjoyed the sushi and the Italian the most. Every day for lunch you can grab burgers by the pool. All of the staff were welcoming and eager to serve. I can't remember everyone's name, but Bernabe took great care of us every morning at breakfast, Christian made a perfect martini at the preferred lounge, and Fernando kept us entertained at the pool. We had so much fun that we are heading back this Sunday to celebrate our anniversary, so I will have more names to share in a follow-up review!

Totally Amazing
Reviewed 2 days ago

My partner booked this hotel for us for my 22nd birthday. We wanted to go to Cancun as it has recently become popular and a few friends had been and said it was amazing. We booked the secrets due to its good reviews.
Arriving at the hotel, we was given drinks and taken to our floor by our butler. (Floor 23, preferred). Our butler Alex was so friendly, since checking in, all he has done is be friendly, caring and helpful. He spoke with us everyday and could not do enough!

ROOM:

Our room was beautiful, aircon was a dream and the views were amazing. Maids came everyday to clean, fill our minibar and turn down service. Room was constantly spotless and the maids did little things to make you feel special and welcome.
We ordered room service a few times which is 24hour. The waiter sets up a table in your room. Really nice if you want a romantic night in!

Food:
They were plenty of resturants to try at the resort. Being veggie I was worried about staying here, however it has been fine. Some resturants have vegan dishes, however I did ask for one of these options and was given food with cheese on. Certain dishes say they are vegiterian however the cheese has animal rennet in it. The buffet breakfast was lovely, a staff member there (sorry forgot name) remembered every morning i liked english tea and brought it to me. This was a personal touch and was so nice. The food however needs to be more labelled with whats veggie and what isnt. One day i eat a pastry which had ham in it which i was upset.

POOLS:
The preferred pool has an amazing view and is very quiet. Great if you just want to chill out. However for us, it was abit to quiet and theirs a few of the guests been quite snobbing and showing off their money which we was not a fan of.
The downstairs pool is lively, the activities are fun and theirs always something going on. The entertainment team are amazing espically Yesicca. She is so lovely and sweet!! The whole team build great relationships with the guests!

Beach:

The beach is beautiful, however did not spend much time on it due to the pool side been so good.

Staff:

The staff make the resort. Every single one of them are so passionate about their jobs and can not help enough. I felt like i was royalty the way i was treat. They are all so caring and would do anything for you. Some resorts are a bit pushy with tips however we did not give many out this holiday and still got an amazing service!!

Nightlife:

The Nightlife was good depending on what you are looking for. The Hotel itself does an amazing job of putting on lots of different shows and events throughout the week, our favourite was the burlesque night. The only downside we felt during our stay was the fact that if you wanted to stay up past 11pm, it was possible as they have a DJ in the piano bar playing until 2am but it is normally empty. Everyone seems to go to bed before 11 which is understandable. There is also a bus which you can catch just outside the hotel which only for $1, will take you up the strip which is filled with bars and lots of people so this is an alternative option if you get stuck. I Recommend you book Coco Bongo's as it was truly amazing, unlike anything I've ever experienced.

Couldn't recommend this resort enough, will definitely be coming back!!!!!
