In the heart of Cancún’s hotel zone, the 214-room Sandos Cancún Luxury Experience Resort is on the beachfront between the turquoise Caribbean Sea and vast Laguna Nichupte — a water setting echoed by three split-level infinity pools and a sea-facing Jacuzzi.
Bed & Bath
Guestrooms are uniformly spacious, with a Miami-chic look in cream and crisp white, and modern extras like 32-inch TVs and marble bathrooms. Premium Superior Rooms take advantage of their high-floor position with balconies (in most) and sea or lagoon views. They also offer guests access to the Premium sixth-floor bar, as well as the beach cabanas.
The all-inclusive rate (meals, drinks, room service, most water sports, taxes and gratuities) means revamped dining options in the four restaurants: international fare at Zango, à la carte Caribbean dinners at the alfresco St. Trop, Asian flavors and a dress code at Gaijin, and buzz-worthy molecular gastronomy at Seasons. After dark, live entertainment comes courtesy of local music troupes, and the central Bar One stays busy late into the night. But the aptly named Spa del Mar is where the resort really shines. The 15,000-square-foot complex houses 14 treatment rooms, a cold plunge pool, an outdoor whirlpool, steam rooms and treatments including body wraps of sea plants and marine algae, and specialized massages.
In the Area
Active types will be kept entertained on windsurfing and sailing excursions, or with a morning tennis match — the elevated clay courts are positioned, naturally, to take full advantage of the sparkling Caribbean Sea. Or venture out on a day-trip via ferry to the lovely Isla Mujeres for sun, sand, snorkeling, seafood and cerveza, then return to Cancun’s legendary after-dark scene at dance club, Coco Bongo. For more cultural entertainment, visit the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen-Itza (the concierge can arrange tours) or head south to the more accessible cliffside ruins in Tulum. Dive lovers can explore the colorful Palancar, Santa Rosa and El Cedral reefs on an excursion to Cozumel.
How to Get There
I want to give sandos a 5 star review as it is definitely one of the best all inclusive resorts I have visited (7 times mexico 10 times Dominican 11 times cuba) however there is some small things they need to sort out. Upon arrival with Air Canada we waited on the bus for 2plus hours and were literally dropped off on the side of the road in Cancun and had to drag our bags up the massive hill. Second thing we requested a king bed and got two doubles. Annoying but whatever. Staff here are incredible but they need to hire more for the a la carte restaurants. The service is painfully slow. Don’t go to one of these if you’re super hungry. It will take you 2 hours for your food to come. Entertainment staff is amazing. Would we return? Yes for the right price.
having arrived here o 13.5 to be given a room on 7th floor with no balcony just a window to open suffering from vertigo was not a good start along with this a security breach in our room just added to our disappointment. So far we have asked room Availability to move to a lower floor and assured this would be looked at we are now 5 days in and no response
The restaurant don’t give much variety and hotel staff need to communicate between themselves as conflicting information is given out. Frustrated is a word I would use and seriously thinking of moving to another hotel to enjoy the remainder of our stay
Food somewhat Luke warm and ra out of jack Daniel’s really.
The only person that has been helpful is Jose when booking trips as TUI don’t have a rep for this hotel so you are on your own
Wouldn’t I recommend this hotel maybe not
Where else can you go and get your food and drinks brought to your cabana??? Which btw is available to anyone regardless of the type of reservation you have... Everything was beautiful. Everyone was exceptionally nice. The entertainers (Vivi and Alex) were amazing!! I felt like we were friends all along. There were daily games and options to make sure you're entertained throughout the day. Both entertainers were amazing. They made sure we had fun all day. They're both funny and outgoing. You can chit chat with them about anything. They're very good at having everyone have fun. We met a bunch of people through them. It really makes a huge difference when you have fun entertainers to get you into a party mood.
DJ's at the pool - a 10! Everyone makes it their mission that you have a blast.
Buffet has plenty of options even for the pickiest eaters like my wife. Amazing wood burning oven pizza - I'm not a big pizza fan but I had one every day... Menu available for pool side ordering - wow! That was a first for me. I typically don't like to go to same places twice, but this is definitely an exception...
Great time at the resort , great entertainment and good! Alex was our favourite entertainer ❤️ Great time with the parties and events. Lots of great energy here and we highly recommend it! Best trip ever
This is our 17th time in Mexico and a repeat visit of sandos. Let me begin by stating that this is the best hotel on the Cancun strip. The access to the beach is second to none, the staff here keeps a positive attitude and go above and beyond when needed. We have stayed at Secrets, Live Aqua and Hyatt Zilara but this place is what keeps us coming back..being that it’s only 200 rooms is my main attraction, I don’t think anyone wants to be in a resort where you can’t get in the pool or get a cabana because it’s so crowded. The food here has come a long way and we truly enjoyed every meal this time around. From breakfast at Zango to dinner at Seasons the quality was phenomenal. A great young man named Gerardo who I think was the manager of St.Trop set up an beautiful sunset dinner for me and my wife right in the beach. These kind of actions is what sets this place apart from other hotels in the strip. I don’t mind spending my money on tips when it’s warranted, and the employees here are well deserving of them. We will be back again sometime soon, and can’t wait to repeat our wonderful experience. Last but not least I would like to thank the heartbeat of this hotel, it’s tremendous employees. Gerardo, Effrain at the Japanese Restaurant, Alberto from the spa, Erick from the door who has been there a long time. People like this make our time there more enjoyable and should be proud of what they do. Thank you Sandos.
