In the heart of Cancún’s hotel zone, the 214-room Sandos Cancún Luxury Experience Resort is on the beachfront between the turquoise Caribbean Sea and vast Laguna Nichupte — a water setting echoed by three split-level infinity pools and a sea-facing Jacuzzi.
Bed & Bath
Guestrooms are uniformly spacious, with a Miami-chic look in cream and crisp white, and modern extras like 32-inch TVs and marble bathrooms. Premium Superior Rooms take advantage of their high-floor position with balconies (in most) and sea or lagoon views. They also offer guests access to the Premium sixth-floor bar, as well as the beach cabanas.
The all-inclusive rate (meals, drinks, room service, most water sports, taxes and gratuities) means revamped dining options in the four restaurants: international fare at Zango, à la carte Caribbean dinners at the alfresco St. Trop, Asian flavors and a dress code at Gaijin, and buzz-worthy molecular gastronomy at Seasons. After dark, live entertainment comes courtesy of local music troupes, and the central Bar One stays busy late into the night. But the aptly named Spa del Mar is where the resort really shines. The 15,000-square-foot complex houses 14 treatment rooms, a cold plunge pool, an outdoor whirlpool, steam rooms and treatments including body wraps of sea plants and marine algae, and specialized massages.
In the Area
Active types will be kept entertained on windsurfing and sailing excursions, or with a morning tennis match — the elevated clay courts are positioned, naturally, to take full advantage of the sparkling Caribbean Sea. Or venture out on a day-trip via ferry to the lovely Isla Mujeres for sun, sand, snorkeling, seafood and cerveza, then return to Cancun’s legendary after-dark scene at dance club, Coco Bongo. For more cultural entertainment, visit the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen-Itza (the concierge can arrange tours) or head south to the more accessible cliffside ruins in Tulum. Dive lovers can explore the colorful Palancar, Santa Rosa and El Cedral reefs on an excursion to Cozumel.
How to Get There
Had a great great time at the pool. Drinks are solid and staff was super friendly and efficient. Emmanuel was hilarious whether it was music trivia or pool volleyball. " God bless pool volleyball" - Emmanuel
Stayed only for a couple nights but got a good sense of the property and its offerings. Room - was lucky enough to get a 1 bedroom suite - very large room with 2 balconies, one look directly at the lagoon and one looking to the side of the building toward the other hotels north and the ocean. So views couldn't be beat! The floor of the room is a very slick marble which is lovely to look at but the bed and any furniture moved around every time I say or laid down. Suggestion - Get some rubber matting to put under the legs of the furniture so it will stay in place on such a slick surface! Ammenities in the bathroom with plentiful and of nice quality.
Restaurants - since I was only there two nights I only ate at a couple places - Zango - breakfast buffet was Ok - but just OK. Lunch was pretty bad, either a choice of middle eastern cuisine or a hamburger menu. I ordered a hamburger as I was in a hurry - mistake. The hamburger did not come our as described (not all the toppings as mentioned on the menu) and the meat quality was downright poor. I also ate in the Steakhouse restaurant one evening - and as with the lunchtime hamburger, the New York steak quality was poor. I could not eat about 1/2 of the serving due to gristle.
I only took in the entertainment one evening downstairs in their convention center area. There was a great singer from the Carribean and her brother who had a great show and actively involved the audience...I think most everyone was having a great time!
Beach/Pool - Great large beach with clean sand (no seaweed as I had heard there may be). Lots of loungers - pool area is tiered and quite large - not sure if the hotel was just slow or what - but no problem getting a lounger when I wanted one.
Overall service - The staff was wonderful and very welcoming. The waiters and bartenders were very attentive. The checkin/out staff and bell staff all top notch. Overall the hotel is clean - but for the quality of the food - I would have a hard time booking here again.

Love sandos. Entertainment was excellent. Great service great food all around the most fun vacation I've ever had. Going back next year for sure Highly recommended. Walking distance to aqua world and shops and restaurants as well.
Fantastic entertainment! Tony, Liss, and Vicki provide amazing entertainment! Bar service at Bar One and St Trop is fantastic, especially the server Casanova. The food at Gaijin is incredible and Esteban and Ernesto put on a great show! Plenty of room space and the money is definitely worth having a mostly adult only resort!
