Warning Very Detailed and Long Review...

September 2019 Experience.
My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary at 'Live Aqua'. We got our vacation package at Costco Travel. This is our second time in Cancun, but first time in Live Aqua Hotel. We stayed at 'Fiesta Americana Coral Beach' hotel last year so I may compare the two hotel between each other. Also my husband and I are very light drinkers so we're not going to comment about the their alcohol.

Lobby:
The lobby was very nice, clean, air-conditioned and smells very good. They have aroma therapy being sprayed automatically all over the hotel, even the elevator every so often. But the chairs they have in the Lobby is far away from the entrance so if you're waiting for your ride to the airport or excursions you're gonna have to stand up waiting in order not to miss it.

Room:
We had a room at 7th floor with a beach view. The room is contemporary style and beautiful, clean and smells very good. The view was very nice also.

Staff:
The service was good. A few of the staff was very friendly and outstanding with what they do.
????Marco Antonio at the smoothie/juice bar, at the 'Seven' restaurant. He made us a healthy & delicious smoothie everyday with so much enthusiasm. He says hi to everyone, and he's is very friendly and engaging. It's nice to seem him everyday.
????Miguel Angel Gorgona Diaz at the Italian restaurant, was very accommodating and hard working & he made sure to make our dinner very special.
????Helvert Moo at the "Seven" restaurant, provided us with outstanding service and he was very kind and attentive to our needs.
????Jorge, from Texas, was very friendly and accommodating and he also made sure that our anniversary celebration was special.

My husband and I felt like we connected with the some of the employees which made our experience even better. Although we are a gay couple, we felt comfortable and welcomed at the hotel. We did notice other gay couples at the hotel.

My only critic would be about consistency of the quality of service. Because I was really taken back of the guest service that I received at the 'Fiesta Americana Coral Beach'. I noticed at Live Aqua, not all the employees make eye contact with you or greet you at all.

Food:
I would recommend the 'Seven' restaurant, their breakfast buffet is great and that's where our favorite employees work. Make sure to get a smoothie and meet my favorite employee Marco.

The grilled food that they serve by the pool between 12:30 - 4:00pm is fantastic. The grilled chicken and ribs were delicious. The pineapple/habanero chili is great. The sweet corn was just perfect side.

We didn't not like the 'Hidden Garden' restaurant which serves Thai food. Although it's a beautiful restaurant and the service is great, their Thai food is way too westernized and not very good for my taste. My husband and I prefer the real Thai food or at least something close to it. My husband said "it's hidden for a reason" LoL.

Activities:
They have multiple activities going on throughout the day which were very fun. They did karaoke night and silent party on a different night. They had a volleyball game going on at 11am everyday for an hour. They had a cartoonist artist come in at one night. They have parrots and iguanas hanging around for the guests.

Beach:
The water is a lot more calmer at the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach, there was barely any waves when we visited at the beginning October last year. At Live Aqua, there are more waves at the beach, but the amenities at the beach were better. There's a lot more cabanas, beach chairs and hammocks available for everyone. There's of course, a bar at the beach with swings on them.

Pool:
The Pool area is very beautiful, clean and big. But the temperature of the pool water from 3 different pool area were all too warm for being in a warm and humid environment. My husband mentioned that he feels like he is sweating while being in the pool.

Spa:
I had the Swedish and Polynesian massage and it was very relaxing and rejuvenating. You'll get a chance to use the facilities in the spa either before or after your massage which takes about an hour and it included the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, cold water therapy something and etc. I used my daily resort credits from Costco travel with the massages to cut the prices in half.

Overall, we had a Great Experience. I would recommend 'Live Aqua' to everyone. I would come back to this hotel.

Wonderful Trip, Incredible People!

We returned home a few days ago and had to reflect on how to put this incredible experience into words. My partner and I both needed a week to completely decompress, reconnect and stare into breathtaking views of the ocean. Live Aqua fulfilled all of this and more. We first came to Live Aqua two years ago and decided to return after trying the Turquoise Tower at Hyatt Ziva and I am so happy and confident in choosing to return!

The overall vibe at Live Aqua is centered around relaxation with a spa-like atmosphere. For example, the fragrance of aroma therapy is everywhere, even the elevators, and a welcome hand massage greets you upon your arrival. There are also a number of yoga classes held by a gifted instructor named Erika who took her time with each person and remembered my name when I returned to another one of her classes. The hotel also has a much more diverse population of guests, which was refreshing to us.

The food is great and some of the best we’ve had at resorts with comparable pricing. I am a seafood lover and they did not disappoint! I recommend requesting a whole fried fish at Azur off the menu(they can usually do it with a days notice:). Outside of seafood they have an excellent variety of foods to choose from, quality in-room dining and I just loved their attention to detail. For example, I learned they make their own masa for all the tortillas, chips and tamales in the entire resort!

The drinks are also made with fresh ingredients and can be as top shelf, weak or strong as you wish. Just let them know and your beverage will come exactly the way you want it to be. A nice touch is that they only use agave nectar in their margaritas- no syrup!

Most of all, Live Aqua has uncomparable service which outshined a situation that could have ruined a day of our trip. We were invited to a presentation put on by the vacation club which, as many have warned, was a disaster. We left feeling ‘pushed’ around by several vacation club representatives who were offensive, arrogant and elitist.

We shared our disheartening experience with Jazmin and Yerania at the Aqua Club concierge and they were so empathetic, understanding and went above and beyond to not only make this situation right, but to assure we had a personalized and unforgettable experience throughout the trip. They are both so kind and helpful! Guillermo was also a JOY. His charisma and hospitality was just as good as the view from the Aqua Club.

We were then introduced to Jorge Noriega from the management team and Kevin from PR. The both of them were so professional, thoughtful and eager to assure our trip was special. We saw them on several occasions and they took the time on a daily basis to see how our trip was going. At times, we couldn’t believe how they found us so much! They both were truly memorable.

At the pool, we were so appreciative of the impeccable service! Alejandra and Humberto anticipated every need we had during our long days lounging at the pool and Elena had wonderful foot massages.

The spa was fantastic. Sinai was so kind and walked me though an excellent hydrotherapy experience. We went on my birthday and as I walked out, the staff surprised me with cake and champagne. I couldn’t believe it!

We also tried out Inlaa’kech and, what a culinary journey! I highly recommend trying this out (even more than an excursion). It was far from just a meal, it was an experience from start to finish. We learned to make drinks with fruit specific to the Yukatan origin, put together appetizers with special fermented habanero peppers (so good) and topped it off with lovely regional wine pairings with each course. The staff are wonderful as well, especially, Ashely, who truly turned a meal into an adventure. He was personable, humorous and made us feel at home. It was a joy to experience his beloved culture’s history and food through his eyes.

You will not regret going to Live Aqua no matter what room you are in. The service is incredible, the food is fresh, and the drinks are hand crafted. We loved it so much we will be returning in December with my mother for her retirement!

Outstanding Everything!!

My husband and I just returned from a week long vacation at Live Aqua celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We have stayed at the FiestaAmericana resort in Cancun dozens of times and it has always been great, but this was our first experience at LA and it was beyond our expectations! I can't wait to go back! It was definitely first class all the way and adults only. We upgraded to an ocean front room w/ balcony and were not disappointed. The rooms are eloquently decorated and the beds are big and comfy. The aromatherapy in the room was a great touch. From the high end soaps, shampoos, loofahs, linens, etc. to the variety of beer and drinks in the fridge, we felt like royalty. There were also snacks in the room and an espresso maker that we made ample use of each morning! There is a touch pad by the night stand to turn the lights on/off and to open/close the curtains. If you want room service, it is fast and you can order bottles of wine/champagne to be delivered to your room as well.

The staff are great and very accommodating. The beach was beautiful and one of the few beaches in Cancun with live vegetation which made it feel very tropical. We usually visit Cancun in the spring and the weather is spectacular then, but in September it's a little hotter and more humid, but the water temp is close to 90 degrees, so it's very enjoyable. The restaurants were all very good. The bars and bartenders were all nice, funny, helpful and made great drinks! There are waiters on the beach to take your drink order and we never waited long at all. Guests are not permitted to take food onto the beach which is fine and there are no bird issues at all like at some resorts. The beach is immaculate and seaweed was not an issue. They have activities/shows each night, our favorite was casino night. Guests do not need reservations for any of the restaurants. I have heard that there are time share/vacation club reps on the lower level, but we were never hassled by them.

The hotel is located right in the middle of the hotel zone and right across the street is a huge shopping plaza with many designer stores and boutiques. There is also a great liquor store called Europea which I would highly recommend versus purchasing your liquor at the airport. The prices are much less than what you pay at the airport and definitely less than what you would pay in the states. You must pack your liquor in your luggage, is the only downside. But ours travelled just fine.

Overall I cannot give enough stars to this resort and I cannot wait to return!
