How to Get There
The best restaurant in that resort, Pedro Batún was always very attentive with our orders. One of the best Servant in that restaurant i totally recommend this place, he most definitely made sure we were happy and got what we wanted. I plan to go back soon , thank you Pedro Batún for your service. ☺️
I've been to Cancun/Riv Maya 15+ times and always a different resort over the past 20 years through Apple, Funjet & Sun Country Vacations. I usually book last-minute and go with the best deal/top star resort. Exciting to try someplace new!
BEACH: It's right on the point in a nice alcove. Unfortunately/no fault, but the waves churn up a lot of plastic garbage onto the beach. It is raked, but if you happen to go out before a raking, you should NOT be out there without shoes or sandals. sharp little plastic pieces hide amongst the seaweed. My foot got poked.
POOLS: Nice and clean, but on the small/average size for Cancun and fill up quickly. Many resorts with larger pools. NOTE: The 'Infinity Pool' shown in marketing/online is ONLY for guests of some special separate tower of rooms, not the main resort.
ROOMS: I started with a double bed / ocean view. The beds are mattress-only on frame - no boxspring, and feel old/no support. My room got the afternoon sun, and even with the darkened curtains closed, the A/C could not keep the room cool.
I switched to a king size bed on the Northeast side. The bed was still very old/uncomfortable/unsupportive. The room stayed cool, except for sometime between 2-5am every night when it seems like the A/C was shut off and the fan was just blowing air, because the room would get warm and humid before cooling again around 6am.
The water pressure was OK. I got almost-hot water for the shower, except for one afternoon when it was just warm enough not to freeze.
ATRIUM: The 14 story building has a glass top, so it gets very hot during the day. The A/C doesn't keep up, so walking around inside just feels hot without the ocean breeze.
OVERALL: So many other great options in the Cancun area. The Reflect Krystal just doesn't have the beach, pool(s), room or food (average) to recommend. And I really wanted to like it.
We are just finishing up a week-long stay and have really enjoyed our visit to Cacun. Originally, we checked into the regular part of the hotel, which is being renovated during the off season, but quickly upgraded to the new Altitude tower for a small extra per-night. It was well worth it. The free breakfast and 5-7 pm happy hour with free drinks and appetizers alone almost made up the difference in cost. Moreover, the room was beautiful.
Most of all, were impressed by the staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and from the restaurants to the pool bars, everyone was friendly and very eager to please. Special thanks to Alejo at the main pool and Jahir at the lobby bar, who especially impressed us with their top-notch service.
One word of advice, however: If you are interested in the vacation club or simply want to hear the presentation to receive the gift credits, be aware that it will take several hours of your time as they keep switching closers in an attempt to convince you to sign up.
3 people stood out on my most recent visit to Krystal Grande in San Jose del Cabo. Mariana at VIP Guest Services, Alejandro a waiter at breakfast each morning and Diego at Italian restaurant Risoto.
Mariana went out of her way to greet me every time she saw me and offer any assistance.
Alejandro remembered my breakfast drink and was extremely attentive and quick with serving drinks and any extra stuff needed during breakfast.
Diego went over and beyond assisting me with deserts at Risoto to ensure I got everything I was craving. From that one encounter he remembered me and would greet me anytime he saw me.
What was most impressive about these individuals was they remembered my name and preferences after one brief encounter.
That’s excellent service! Thank you for serving me and making me feel special.
The best feature of this hotel is the staff and the beautiful well maintained beach. Manager Valentine resolved our broken air conditioner room dilemma quickly. Severs Rene’ from the Grill and Marcio from the specialty restaurants were great. Our favorite Server was Alojo from the pool. He greeted us every day with a warm welcome and quickly brought over our favorite drinks. Alojo also surprised us with other great options. He also discussed the pool food menu and offered daily suggestions. He is really an asset to the resort. The downside to this resort is the horrible room service menu , limited breakfast options and NO nightly entertainment.. not the normal all inclusive resort I’m used to.- although you pay for what you get. May or may not return to this resort..Depending on the price at the time. At least I know what to expect , great beach, enjoyable poolside service ,so-so food and THAT is IT!
