Wonderful location with a very gracious helpful staff
Reviewed 10 hours ago

We had a junior suite and had partial ocean view; The only real disappointment was workers 7 days a week repairing the landing below our patio; this was tolerable all in all; I thought the gym was great and well equipped and enjoyed Yoga daily with Ivan--it was wonderful to do this outdoors in the early morning on the shaded deck overlooking the ocean. Food was excellent and amazing varieties.

Great friendly service
Reviewed 3 days ago

We just came back from Cancun, Mexico last night and had a fantastic time! The resort was clean and the people were especially friendly that worked there! To use a business cliche, they exceeded my expectations throughout! Everyone on our 5 days stay did whatever to make us happy, even though they work very hard in that heat and humidity. Some staff were so helpful and nice that I have to mention them because they made our trip special. At the entrance, Fernando greeted us and help us several times throughout our stay and answered questions we had, no matter what he was doing. Also, a very nice hostess, Joseline P. in the breakfast area by the beach made our stay special because she would always greet us with a beautiful smile and a nice conversation each morning! She was very helpful, gave us directions and ideas of places to see and do. She always made sure we were happy. An intelligent employee who is very dedicated to her job. In our opinion, Panama Jack is lucky to have such an employee. I would hire her in a hurry to represent my company here in the U.S. Awesome stay, we will be back!

Second stay here - highly recommend
Reviewed 3 days ago

I recently travelled here with my family from June 11-18. We stayed here 2 years ago when it was formerly known as Grande Caribe. We enjoyed it so much that we signed up to become Gold members. After the hotel rebrand to Panama Jack, I wasn't sure what, if any, changes to expect. I am relieved to say that our stay the second time around met the same expectations as our first. The attentiveness of staff, hospitality and cleanliness of facilities remained excellent.

- staff are attentive, friendly
- facilities are clean and always well kept
- family oriented - daily activities for both children and adults. Night entertainment usually wraps up at around 10 pm
- new addition of coffee shop - serves specialty coffees, pastries and sandwiches similar to Starbucks
- newly renovated rooms, furnishings, and decor have helped to modernize the resort
- staff are willing to accommodate special request - servers at the main buffet were always happy to provide us with tetra packs of milk to bring back to our room so we could give it to our toddler. Marcelino, a server at the main buffet, always checked in us to make sure we had some. Thank you so much! I really appreciated that you always remembered us!

- Check in/check out process for gold members - there was only one staff member who seemed responsible for this although there are other staff members in the office
- limited restaurant choices - there are 5 restaurants located in the resort. Aside from the Mexican and Italian restaurant, all the dishes seemed similar in the others. It would be nice if they had a steak house and sushi/teppanyaki place
- if you're young and looking to party, you would have to travel off the resort to find other things to do

Fun fitness classes. Movement is healthy
Reviewed 3 days ago

We spent five days at the resort and Ivan definitely made every morning a blast. We enjoyed his yoga and abs class the most and the spin class was fun as well. They were filled with exercises that were different from what we commonly see back at home and definitely were effective. That second day sore is real.

Cool guy and friendly. Made myself and the four women comfortable.

Overall this resort is a 3.5. It’s got everything you need, but most of the staff are new and not friendly. They are borderline racist to be honest. When I (Asian) approached someone, I was greeted with a friendly face, smile, and respect. But when my wife or in-laws (Indian) approached the staff, they were always rude. If any one of any Hispanic or Latin American descent walked up next to us we were immediately treated as second class guests.

The resort has become very family oriented which was great for us. Although we do not have any kids of our own, there was plenty to keep our nephews occupied. If you do not have kids. I’d definitely recommend considering the adult only resort.

Wine Tasting
Reviewed 4 days ago

David and Javier were wonderful and knowledgeable during our private tasting! A must do!!! Four types of wine all different and I’m now able to order Chardonnay, Moscato, Merlot and Tempranillo! Had wine with my Italian and they were helpful pairing it for a pleasant experience.
