Overview

Action-packed adults-only all-inclusive resort on a peninsula jutting into Mexico’s Caribbean sea

The Lowdown

Take nine all-inclusive restaurants (Agave for Mexican, Basmati for Indian, and The Lobster House for seafood, to name a third of the options.) Add 11 bars (including swim-up, pool, and disco). Throw in seven pools (four heated, five with whirlpools) and a full service Miilé spa. Multiply by 450 rooms and suites (some with rooftop terraces, balconies, and jacuzzis). The end result is an entire peninsula turned adult playground with the beautifully-designed resort at its heart.

In the Area

On the same peninsula as the resort—within walking distance—is the Playa Mujeres Golf Club, one of the top courses in Mexico. Nature-lovers will want to venture fifteen miles north of the property to Isla Contoy, a protected island that is a nature preserve, bird sanctuary, and nesting ground for endangered sea turtles. Guests can explore the Great Mayan Reef (also known as the Mesoamerican barrier reef) or hop the ferry to the floating fishing village of Isla Mujeres. But the most impressive excursion of all may be two hours south to the massive complex of Maya ruins at Chichén Itzá.

Wonderful Resort and Staff
Barbann83

Vacationed for a week in October. The resort is beautiful, my room was clean and updated, the staff was wonderful The restaurant selection was terrific and the food was delicious. I had a fantastic time during White Party and the silent dance party. I was there for Halloween night and the staff went all out with decorations and a fun-filled night including a costume contest. I high recommend a spa treatment, you won't be disappointed, worth every dime. The spa staff really pamper you and ensure that you have a great experience The water therapy before your spa is a special treat, just be prepared for hot and cold therapy! If you are on the Excellence Club side of the beach you are given extra special attention, shout out to Manual and Guadalope who went out of their way to make us comfortable, from drinks, to towels, to sunscreen, cleaning sunglasses, and good conversation. I went on the bike too which was fun, our tour guide was amazing (sexy poppy).

We had a wonderful time at excellence. The service is impeccable and the resort is in a beautiful location. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for an adults only resort! Don’t miss a trip to Isla Mujeres while you are there.
