How to Get There
The Hilton Quebec is a good option for a short stay in Quebec city. A number of reviews here have mentioned the good location. While there are several hotels that are conveniently located (Quebec City is not that big and it is easy to find a hotel that is close to all the sights), the Hilton is special in that many of the rooms have a lovely view. The staff is very friendly, and the service is quick and efficient. The lobby area is spacious, welcoming, and has a good vibe. As for the rooms themselves, they are comfortable and clean. The furnishings and carpeting are a little dated. The age of the hotel also shows in some ways: for instance, the curtains allow the light to peek through due to some sagging even though they were probably originally designed as blackout shades. The hotel is planning to renovate the rooms, which is a good sign.
If you are driving, the parking lot is just around the corner and has plenty of spots, so valet parking isn't really a huge bonus if you want to save a few bucks. All in all, a good hotel.
We arrived about 10:00 and simply wanted to drop off our car. Unlike many places where rooms aren't ready until 3:00, I was happy to learn that we could have a room right away. The room was on the eight floor overlooking the St. Lawrence - what a view. The person on the desk checking us, Veronika, was friendly, capable and welcoming.
A return visit and the hotel did not disappoint - great location and service. Noticed that a total reno is coming next year and that will bring this hotel to the top with its incredible views. Walk right into the old town which is enchanting in every way! Breakfast buffet was a real treat and good way to start the day. Comfy bed and nice linens and pillows.
