How to Get There
Enjoyed the stay. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and grocery store. I forgot mitts and there was a nice store where I could buy a pair of gloves for a reasonable price. Found the walls to be somewhat thin and could hear the television/shower of my neighbours.
I would like to commend Vincent and the lady at the front desk next to him who checked me in for my stay. I am platinum ambassador level with Marriott and so used to receiving loyalty recognition, but this was amongst the best I have received globally. Really excellent customer service.
I had trouble with sleep quality at this hotel unfortunately. The room next door housed several young men who were not considerate of others. When security went up to speak with them, one jerk responded with "I am a Starwood preferred guest and I'm going to make sure someone hears about this". I had to refrain from laughing. They woke me again at 3am so I asked to be moved to another room and was placed on a quiet floor which was a world of difference to the muppets next door.
The concierge lounge had pretty good offerings for North America and the service was excellent, particularly the lady who tended the bar in the evening.
I thought this hotel was great value with top shelf staff. Absolutely recommended.
In town for a hockey game. This hotel is in a fabulous location, shopping in afternoon and hockey in evening, after game supper and drinks, all within a 5 minute walk. Front desk staff were very helpful with directions.
I often stay at this hotel. The entire staff is great, and the location is fantastic.
It's my opinion however , that the music in the lounge/bar is nothing more than "upbeat elevator" music. And, it's very boring.
Music is very important to me, and the bar lacks "good music".
With all the options available (satellite radio, Spotify, etc), its unimaginable to me, how this important part of guest experience is overlooked at Le Sheraton.
I know this point has been brought to Management's attention, because I have done so.
That said, I recognize my point is subjective.
I've stayed at this hotel many times over the years mostly because of the proximity to Le Centre Bell. The hotel is currently under renovation and you can hear the drilling many floors away. I asked for a quiet room but was still woken up by the noise.
Besides that, the beds are comfortable but I find the heating unit hard to control (the touch screen isn't good) and most of the units are noisy. The bathrooms are small and the faucets put out water in a spray which is inconvenient. The hotel does need a renovation, I just wish they were able to either warn guests properly (you have to start the booking process on the Marriott site to see that it's under renovation) and kept guests away from the noise (or at least warned them. I'm sure there's guests that don't mind the noise since it starts at 9am. I work late, so I sleep in until well after 9). The compensated me with points, but it doesn't really make up for getting woken up and the annoyance of having drilling going on for hours while you're in your room).
I would try other options nearby, at least until the renovation is done.
