Flawless stay

The Alt Hotel has all the services, comforts and amenities a discerning traveler really needs without the so-called “luxury” upcharge.
Property is v cool w great, modern design & features.
Same for the rooms; great beds, linens & fittings. Modern amenities & electronics are thoughtfully included.

Front desk & cleaning staff were friendly & first-rate.

Highly recommended.

If you are under 40, this may be a great hotel. Over 60 and Disabled, not so much.

I was stunned to find no doorman and no bellman. This is a do it yourself hotel. There is absolutely no service. I called to ask for extra towels and they told me to come to the lobby and they would provide them.

We had an accessible room, which on first sight, looked modern (exposed cement walls). It turned out to be inaccessible. Most important, the toilet was so low that it was impossible to use. I called and asked if they had a toilet seat extender, but they did not know what I was talking about. The light switches are high enough that i could not reach them lying down,

While the chamber maids did a good job of straightening the room, they never change the towels (we were there four nights). In the bath room, the towel racks were placed away from the shower and difficult to access, even for people without mobility problems.

No room service, but there is actually decent food to be bought in the lobby.

One more thing. the hallway lights go on when you step into the hallway. If you wait too long for an elevator or get your room card out, the lights go out and you wait in the dark (they can be reactivated by taking a couple of steps. I appreciate conserving electricity, but this is supposed to be a good hotel and I didn't expect to enter a dark hall.

The hotel is convenient for the old town or seaport, but it is a way from mid-town and the museums.

Modern clean fun
