How to Get There
Auberge du Vieux Port is a wonderful small boutique hotel in a perfect location if you are looking to be in Old Montreal. Once we parked our car for our three day stay we were able to walk to everything that we wanted to see in and around the old city. Our wonderful stay began upon arrival with a warm greeting from the staff. Our room was not ready when we arrived (we were early) so we went out for a walk. When we came back we were given our keys and our luggage had already been placed in the room. The room itself was modern but maintained the original integrity of the original building including exposed beams and brick walls. The bathrooms were very also very modern and well designed.
Our booking came with breakfast at the adjacent Gaspar's restaurant. The breakfast choices were plentiful and excellently prepared. In the nice weather, make sure to visit the roof terrace for a drink and some light fare. The terrace has a wonderful view of the port.
If you want to be in Old Montreal I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is in a perfect location for walking around the old port. The staff are extremely accomoding and helpful. The room was full of character and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
A charming hotel in a former industrial building from the mid 19th century located directly on the waterfront. The hotel restaurant is excellent (as is the room service) and lively with live music and obviously a favorite with locals. The neighborhood is easily walked and the hotel is just steps away from more restaurants than can be frequented on a normal holiday. It's not cheap, but worth every cent...we will definitely be back.
My wife and I have been coming to the Auberge du Vieux Port for 15 years and have never had anything but positive experiences with the hotel, their lofts and their staff. The facilities are excellent and perfectly located for sightseeing, dining and shopping and not too far from the offices we have to visit on most of our trips to Montreal.
If you're visiting for more than a couple of days, request a loft. These are fully furnished apartments with laundry facilities in the units and full kitchens, not to mention the most comfortable beds you can imagine. A trip to the Atwater Marche to stock the fridge and you will have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
Happy with our choice! We loved how the age of the building was showcased yet updated with modern finishings and conveniences. Great location, very comfortable bed, pleasant staff...particularly Lara, the concierge. We highly recommend!
