Recalibrate mind and body in the stunning alpine surroundings of the four-star Meltar Boutique Hotel. Encircled by an 18-hole golf course on the breathtaking Asiago plateau, this converted Cimbrian farmhouse is the perfect spot from which to explore northeastern Italy’s charming Vicenza province, near the brooding spires of the Dolomites.
When not drooling over the spectacular scenery, you can spend your days at this TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner learning to prepare mouth-watering traditional Italian cuisine at the hands-on cooking school, or calming your senses at the stylish Mountain Spa, with its heavenly treatments, sauna and hydro-pools. For something entirely different, head out into the local countryside and embark on some cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
Superior rooms are spacious and bright, with elegant wood furniture, heritage wallpapers and views across the Asiago plateau. Some rooms feature warm, pine beams or polished parquet flooring and all offer invigorating views of the picturesque plateau.
Learn to prepare mouth-watering traditional Italian cuisine at Meltar’s cooking school. Classes include hands-on cooking and visits to food artisans, cheese producers, wine cellars and local food markets. Sumptuous buffet breakfasts include freshly baked croissants and cakes.
Within the stylish Mountain Spa, there’s a host of lavish treatments, a sauna, indoor and outdoor hydro-pools and cardio equipment.
Meltar is the only hotel located on the grounds of the prestigious Asiago Golf Club. Renowned architect, Peter Harradine’s rolling mountain course is reputedly one of the prettiest alpine courses in Europe and is interspersed with serpentine lakes and pine-fringed fairways.
Breathe in a deep lungful of fresh mountain air and prepare for some outdoor adventure. Meltar is perfectly placed to take full advantage of the Asiago plateau’s natural playground – in particular nearby Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. There’s a multitude of activities on hand, including panoramic Nordic walking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing (the skiing circuit hosted a World Nordic Skiing championship here once). Sample the eponymous Asiago cheese in the cute township of the same name, or head further afield to Venice, Verona or Lake Garda.
How to Get There
great position, very refined decor, attentive service , a great place to relax, use the lovely spa and (if you play) enjoy the golf course. the clubhouse has a bar with a wonderful view . did not try the restaurant given the many negative reviews we saw on TripAdvisor
We had a very enjoyable weekend here. The rooms are generous and well appointed, the breakfast room is elegant and has great local offerings and the day spa was wonderful. The views from all sides are wonderful and offer a real feeling of seclusion.
This was one of the best hotels we have ever been to, if not the best. For our 10th wedding anniversary, we traveled there for a long weekend - 4 days/3 nights and it was worth it. Such a beautiful, well-appointed, cozy hotel - the quaint breakfast room, the lounge, the library. We arrived on a Thursday and had the place practically to ourselves! It was great. We had hoped for snow but it was unseasonably sunny and warm. The surroundings are beautiful either way. The service was outstanding, personal and warm. The concierge was so helpful and friendly. The SPA was also one of the best Spas we have visited - cozy lounge chairs, a library, small pool to relax in. Everything is just beautifully decorated in a mix of modern chalet with antique touches. If you like small, charming hotels, this is the place for you. We will definitely come back again. Thank you Meltar!
