How to Get There
Hotel Rocca Della Senna is a small, boutique hotel overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Access to the beach is via a private 182-step stone stairway (that looks like it’s been chiselled out from the granite cliff) that takes you down to the road parallel to the beach, with the beach then being 30 seconds away. The hotel is a 10-minute walk into the old town, so is ideally located for both beach and town.
We stayed in a deluxe sea view room, which in addition to the expected bed, shower and toilet, has a terrace with a hot tub - a nice little extra that meant if we didn’t want to leave our room, we could still enjoy some relaxation in water. The styling is very Mediterranean - crisp white linen against warm oranges and browns and terracotta tiles.
Breakfast is a pleasing and tasty continental selection of pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, bread, preserves, yogurt, cheese and cold meats, with a small selection of hot food. Fresh orange juice, bottled juices water, teas, coffee and Prosecco are on offer to drink.
There is an extensive wine cellar, and the few glasses of the local wine my husband sampled I’m reliably told were very good.
I mentioned when emailing the hotel to arrange a taxi from the airport that I would be 24 weeks pregnant when we stayed with them, and upon arrival found blue and pink balloons in our room with a congratulations note from the staff.
The staff are what makes this hotel so brilliant; all are genuinely warm and friendly and will happily assist in any way they can.
We were hoping for a relaxing, quiet break (our last before baby), and that’s exactly what we got. Highly recommended.
This hotel has all of the offerings of a large hotel chain but it’s a small boutique hotel. Beautiful terrace, pool, breakfast and their staff/service is top notch. Christina ensures you have everything you need to enjoy your vacation.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the view of the ocean from the patio was beautiful, and they served a very good breakfast. From the patio you could walk down to the beach, however, you had to go down a very long staircase.
This hotel is amazing. From the spectacular views off of the terrace to the truly wonderful staff, this is one of my favorite places that I have stayed in my life. Close to town, very close to the beach and has everything else that you may need. The wine list and the small bites were great, as well. We will be back.
From the first moment, making a reservation, based on photos, I knew because of the delightful young woman who made everything easy, this was going to be a relaxing and delightful experience.
Everything I thought was confirmed from the moment of arrival. The hotel is simultaneously relaxing and sophisticated. Every employee wants to insure customer comfort and pleasure.
The views from each room, and certainly from the terrace are so spectacular that one feels leaving the property is not really necessary, but, as the town is authentic and friendly, one does.
The breakfast is rich in choices, and one wishes they served other meals as well.
The rooms are delightful, the sound of the waves at night absolutely relaxing, the housekeeping superior.
A wonderful location to unwind.
