2 night business stay
Reviewed 1 month ago

This was only for a couple of nights and having stayed at Mercure Hotels in the past I sort of knew that standard would be decent but was unfortunately disappointed with what I can only describe as "sorry state" for this once upon a time probably a gem. The entrance to the hotel gave me a pre-warning of what was to come, the road/access was in dire need of attention. Checking in was very good with friendly staff and very helpful. The room (Superior double room) was like taken out of a 70's film set. No international TV channels and in general very dated. Bed was just about OK for 2 nights. The restaurant however was a great experience, especially if you enjoy seafood, the dishes was great and decent selections/choices A bit on the negative side they seemed to be understaffed as clearing tables etc. took very long and not very attentive. Also same in the breakfast restaurant, not very good with clearing tables, not topping up and refilling of the buffet which was OK in terms of selection. No means of cutting bread/rolls. Cheap juice, being in Italy I would expect freshly squeezed Orange juice. Soggy pastries and hot items for breakfast was cold half hour after breakfast opened. Staff in restaurant(s) in general very “laid back” but friendly. No condiments on the tables, had to ask for everything. With a proper makeover this Hotel would be a great addition to the Mercure brand and I would love to come back and see it.

Nice Pleasant Hotel

Nice Pleasant Hotel just a little far from the city. Remember the 4 Euro city tax and the 25 Euro cab ride to town.
Just a quaint little hotel just a little far out. Staff is friendly. Just don't eat the Octopus.

On way to cruise ship

A little inconvenient based on our situation. Travelling for two months this this couple has 4 suitcases and two carry on. Our room was on the lower level and there is no elevator or ramps to transporting luggage down and up a bit inconvenient. Member of our group has mobility issues so her knee scooter is challenged with lack of ramps and rough pavement and sidewalks. Otherwise we would have been content enough with our one night stay as things were fairly adequate. 90% of staff were very friendly and accommodating. Convenient place to stay enroute to the cruise ships. Transportation to cruise ships booked by hotel.

A good location and hotel for an overnight stay before starting a cruise.

Hotel room was comfortable, decent size and comfortable bed we had a balcony room overlooking small marina. Nice view. Good breakfast served for small fee, worth the cost. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside is you ar3 a little way out of the towns main area and the pavements are not easy, to walk on. Very delapidated and in parts disappeared completely. We recommend getting a taxi if you fancy going into the main area for meals, shopping or getting to the cruise ships.

Great stopover for port of Roma

Nice, air conditioned room overlooking the Mediterranean Ocean. Room was not ready when we arrived (early ) but the management stored our luggage until the room was ready. Beautiful pool area and marina right outside the balcony door. A pizzeria and another restaurant were on property although the service in the main restaurant was somewhat lacking. A great full breakfast is included in the price. Management arranged for a car to take us to the port for a nominal charge the next day. Enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
