How to Get There
Fabulous 3 night stay at this lovely villa. We went out of season but received first class treatment. It was a bit cold but taking into account the time of year and the age of the built it was to be expected. There was a lovely fire made up every morning in the breakfast room. The views are out of this world. We hired a car and it was definitely a must. The supermarket and local restaurants are only 10 minute drive away. A kettle in the room would’ve been nice but we managed with the coffee machine. Also maybe a bit more local/tourist information in the room. Having said that we asked about local restaurants and places to visit and were given adequate help. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and we will definitely return.
This hotel stands high in the Tuscan hills and looks so magnificent as you drive up the long winding road up to it.
There are the basic facilities inside the apartment, however it could benefit from a small kettle as we had to boil a pan of water each time we wanted tea. Breakfast isn’t served downstairs in winter, I imagine due to it being cold in the winter months and instead they give you a selection of tea bags, some bread and muffins, butter etc in your room which was fine.
The views are stunning and the feel of the entire place is Peaceful and serene.
This is in a remote part and we advise you have a car, however beware of the narrow winding round in this town.
Other than this beautiful hotel!
The Villa was in a beautiful and remote Tuscan hillside, with wonderful views of the valley. Lovely historic buildings with just enough modern conveniences. A delightful Italian style breakfast was served every morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. Given the quality of the food, we think they should expand to offer a lunch and dinner. A Tuscan dinner buffet was offered for our initial ticket package evening and was excellent.
Stayed here for 6 nights on an offer from travelzoo. The place itself is ok. I had an apartment in an out building, while the rest of my family had one in the main building. Both were adequate, without being exceptional.
The WiFi is awful, coming and going all the time. The breakfast was ok, but again nothing special. There were no other facilities except the pool....which was lovely. But they didn’t open the bar at all during our visit.
If you want to be 5 kms from the nearest restaurant, up a steep windy hill, then this is the place for you. You must have a car....cycling or walking up this hill is a non starter.
The staff were good, although you sometimes couldn’t find them!!
Overall it was too isolated for us.
Attended Bucciano for our daughter's wedding in July. Beautiful Wedding location with outstanding views of some of the Tuscany area as the Villa/Apartment complex is very high up in the countryside. Comfortably catered for 80 with approximately 40 staying in the venue. Plenty of accommodation available in two hotels nearby in San Miniato, itself a beautiful village/small town with numerous historic sites/churches.
Its a quaint country villa type complex so don't expect modern buildings etc. While the location seems remote at the same time its well less than 9k from San Miniato and we had a very good taxi service, same man for the entire week, nearly kept him going full time......Buses hired to bring guests back from Church after the wedding and again for guests returning to San Miniato after the festivities at the Villa. Just a note for all those hiring cars the Villa is at the top of a very high and steep hilly area with the road leading up to it very narrow and winding so quite dangerous.
Advisable to buy supplies for the Apartments in San Miniato Supermarkets as not much close to the Villa.
