How to Get There
This hotel was even better than its website. It’s a smaller hotel set on the side of the cliff overlooking Capri and its seas....It has the most incredible terrace where breakfast is just somewhere you can't wait to get too, watch and lookout at. The food is just wonderful and breakfast, well I could have eaten the lot - never wanted it to end. So much choice at its buffets! Evening meals there were also amazing but very expensive and we only did it once as a treat. One night we ate in the bar which was terrific too and much cheaper. The hotel is on many levels as its built on the side of the cliff. So if you are disabled this could be challenging. The bedrooms above the reception I believe too much smaller, the ones below I heard were much bigger. The staff are delightful and the bar staff were so friendly and remembered everything we loved. The pool is a fab, but very cold, so be prepared! But what a view to swim too. The location was slightly outside Sorrento but for us that's what made it better, away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to all the places you'd want to visit. Also it sits above a port which you can walk down too or get their shuttle bus. The nearby town two is 5 mins in the shuttle bus and some really super restaurants which are much cheaper than the tourist spots and great food. We went often. All the sights we wanted to see, either by car or by boat was arranged seamlessly with the reception. I'd go back in heart a beat. We did have a hire car and we stored in the underground car park which the hotel parked it in, we actually only needed it twice in 8 days. I would recommend this hotel highly. If we go back then we would stay here again for sure. Also they have a great roof terrace for sunbathing and a Jacuzzi there too.
Lovely boutique hotel, charming helpful staff, breathtaking view at breakfast and from same location for dinner. Attractive but cold swimming pool. The hotel is charming get away much nicer than noisy Sorrento, easy to see all the sights,we hired a car but the train to Pompeii etc is a short walk downhill. The hotel organised boat shared with ten others to Capri ..skipper called Fonz ,fabulous trip. We drove to Paetrum ,wonderful,Also Positano, fabulous, hotel recommended where to park, thank you. We followed receptionist recommendation and drove to all her suggestions fabulous.
Saw Herculaneum and Pompeii both need to be seen. Bar staff very nice so good to have an appero early evening with nibbles.
If you have a car I woukd recommend trattoria up high in the hill above, they make their own wine and food is very very Italian ,well worth the 20 min drive up and up the hill.
We came 3 couples for few nights in november and it was perfect the hotel is beutifull with amazing garden great breakfast and amazing staff that helped us with all the things we neded
This is the most amazing hotel I have ever experienced. The rooms were very comfortable, the views were outstanding, the staff were perfect, the food was exquisite and the overall hotel was beautiful. Cannot thank you enough for a memorable holiday.
I booked a flight + accommodation triple room package through Iberia/British Airways. Our room was booked as "Garden view" but actually had spectacular views from the terrace, both of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius in one direction and of the mountains surrounding Vico Equense in the other.
The entire experience could not have been better. We had had somewhat of a nightmare journey, but the hotel had held our restaurant reservation, even though we arrived about two hours late. A member of staff met us at the gate and helped us with our bags and escorted us to Reception and then carried the bags up to our room for us. The receptionist made us welcome and gave us a quick tour of the installations to orientate us, before showing us our room and the Mâitre d' was a perfect and most accommodating host in the restaurant as we enjoyed a superbly presented and beautifully prepared meal.
The room was comfortable, nicely decorated and in perfect order (spotless and well-maintained), with comfortable beds and everything that we needed to make your rest comfortable. A nice touch was the keypad by the bed that allows you to control every room light individually from bed.
The hotel had arranged tours for us of Pompeii and Vesuvius on the first day and of Herculaneum on the second. Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal and, with the visit to the crater of Vesuvius very much a non-starter, an alternative plan was put in place by the hotel. Everything was superbly organised by the hotel: we had an excellent guide, who was waiting for us at the gate and gave us a two-hour tour of the highlights of Pompeii, early, before the crowds had arrived (probably we did more and saw more in two hours this way than in a 3 or 4 hour visit when the site was busier).
I have a dietary limitation, which very much restricts what I can eat without fear of illness and, in the breakfast room the staff were very helpful. There was plenty of variety of options and the kitchen were happy to make hot dishes on request. For our second day they had proudly obtained a range of products suitable for me, to extend my options even further. This was a kind and touching gesture. Breakfast, sat looking at the cloud changing over Vesuvius on the other side of the Bay of Naples is an experience to be recommended.
I almost forgot to mention the garden: beautifully tended, full of fruit trees and bushes, overlooking the Bay. It's a wonderful place for a few minutes peaceful walk.
We cannot thank enough the kind and friendly hotel staff, from the lady who cleaned our room to the reception, porter and restaurant staff, for making this brief stay, such a memorable one.
