How to Get There
This is a lovely hotel which should be easily 5* but keeps tripping over itself!!
We arrived as a couple on a Monday evening around 8 pm to a confused and uninformative reception before being shown to the restaurant for a gourmet meal. That set the tone for our visit really - the Deluxe double room with a sea view and balcony costing an extra 700euros for the week was only 23 sqm with to much furniture it felt like a box room and the bathroom had no shower!.
Following day after breakfast enquiries at reception produced no guided tour or information about facilities at the hotel. It took two days to explore and find the lovely Saporia pizza restaurant which was part of the hotel and had first class service.
The main restaurant also used for breakfast has a fabulous terrace overlooking the bay of Naples. Service is very good and Giovanni the maitre de is excellent. The food is described as gourmet and is of a high standard with plenty of fresh produce well prepared and presented. However portion size and cost make this an expensive option over the course of a week - average 80-100euros per person per meal including a couple of glasses of wine.
The sunset bar overlooking the pool and the bay is good but small for the hotel size - it serves great cocktails both to the bar terrace, pool and roof top terrace - Matteo in particular makes a great espresso martini!!
The roof top terrace has great views over the bay and inland to Vesuvius with a jacuzzi and plenty of sun loungers and tables and seats - however there is no phone to call for service and any drinks etc have to be ordered by taking the lift to the bar!!
The hotel location is not great for wandering out for a stroll or to other restaurants or the marina. The marina is accessible on foot by walking down a steep and uneven footpath which twists and turns down the escarpment and is really only suitable for hardy walkers.
There is a good rail access to Sorrento and Naples and its very good vfm. Access to the railway station is by footpath along the main Naples to Sorrento road which is very busy at all times.
Overall we left the hotel with the impression that we had paid 5*+ prices for 4* accommodation and gourmet food!!!
Great small boutique hotel with Great Staff. They are very helpfull and the service is impeccable. The innhouse food and drink are quite pricey but very good quality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The views from the restaurant at the hotel is insane. Probably the best view in the entire gulf og Napoli.
Travel is a Artful way to life this Elegant property has a Relaxing mix with good energy the ocean waves and the bells from its local church its village as picturesque 20 North to Sorrento
Cheers After leaving Naples this is just the spot for a romantic cozy
