Classic hotel in the heart of Sorrento, with gardens scented by lemon trees and four restaurants

The Lowdown

More traditional than trend-setting, this 85-room hotel in the heart of Sorrento offers a haven from the buzz of the city, whether you’re chilling by the rooftop pool or sipping espresso in the leafy garden terrace planted with lemon and orange trees. Some rooms feature balconies, frescos, 18th century tiles and marble bathrooms, while the restaurants – including O’ Parrucchiano, a short stroll from the hotel – dish up traditional Sorrentine dishes like the rolled pasta classic cannelloni (originally called “Strascinati”.) Gather with other guests for sunset cocktails on the roof terrace, which overlooks Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.

In the Area

Start at the Chiesa di San Francesco (Church of St. Francis), where you can stroll past bougainvillea-clad walls to the Arabic portico and arches of the cloisters. There are also concerts in summer and regular art exhibitions: contact the tourist office for tickets and information. Cook up a storm of Sorrentine specialties at Tofani cooking school, where you can learn to whip up pasta, ragu and fish dishes like mama used to make. For spectacular views of this iconic coastline, trek some of the 150 miles of trails along the Sorrento and Amalfi coast with a variety of guided hikes.

Second time at this hotel
Reviewed 2 days ago

Lovely hotel given the reason we returned for a second visit and to visit all the beautiful areas in and around Sorrento
This hotel is spotless and the cleaning fairies deserve lots of credit
We were disappointed with room we were given as we were opposite another building which was fine but the lady was rather loud and I’m guessing right above the bottle bank it was very noisy even with the shutters down. And as last year this was not a problem as we had a lovely garden view and I don’t think we would have returned knowing we were going to get a back room
Give the management there due they moved us straight away it was a smaller room with a worse view BUT it was quiet so that solved our problem
On this point I don’t think we would return which is a shame as the hotel is fantastic service food and pool
As we are both in the hospitality trade we find it hard to get a hotel as perfect as this one and wish all the staff all our best wishes and thanks for a lovely holiday
Many thanks

Favorite Hotel Great Views from Roof top
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our room was nice, roomy and extremely clean and comfortable. Butterfly tile placed between blue and white tiles in the bathroom gave a quaint feel. The hotel staff is warm, pleasant, and very helpful. Don't miss the entertainment on the roof top every evening. Dancing and cocktails. The pool is great with wonderful views of the water and mountain side. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. This hotel was our favorite during our seventeen day trip in Italy. We will return and highly recommend.

Located at edge of historic district, this is a very pretty hotel. Room , clean, good ac and hot water. Very pretty common areas. Raining so I cant tell about pool. WiFi good.

Through no fault of hotel, the travel agency had to have me move another hotel, and la favorita staff assisted . I miss I could stay my whole time here

Great location but overpriced
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed here with my Mum for five days in September.

Location - great totally central in sorrento

Rooms - lovely rooms, small and no view which is a real shame. Beds are really hard and pillows were hard. Room service was ok we had to call down at 4pm as our room wasn’t cleaned!

Breakfast - not great, food selection was ok but food was cold. Hot water was lukewarm. Didn’t have lunch or dinner.

Bar - very very quiet this may have been the time of year.

Pool - lovely pool wasn’t in it but setting was lovely.

Staff - are all ok not overly helpful.

I personally think this hotel is way to overpriced for what it offered. The view is ok if you stay slightly up the road you get a much better view of sorrento. We looked out at someone’s house aka a brick wall. I wouldn’t go back next time I would go back to hotel Bristol!

Dinner and live music

We were not staying at this hotel but stopped for drinks on the rooftop bar and to listen to the live music. It was perfect. We may think about staying here on our next trip to Sorrento. Just beautiful inside and everyone was very helpful and kind.Drinks were great too!!
