Classic hotel in the heart of Sorrento, with gardens scented by lemon trees and four restaurants

The Lowdown

More traditional than trend-setting, this 85-room hotel in the heart of Sorrento offers a haven from the buzz of the city, whether you’re chilling by the rooftop pool or sipping espresso in the leafy garden terrace planted with lemon and orange trees. Some rooms feature balconies, frescos, 18th century tiles and marble bathrooms, while the restaurants – including O’ Parrucchiano, a short stroll from the hotel – dish up traditional Sorrentine dishes like the rolled pasta classic cannelloni (originally called “Strascinati”.) Gather with other guests for sunset cocktails on the roof terrace, which overlooks Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.

In the Area

Start at the Chiesa di San Francesco (Church of St. Francis), where you can stroll past bougainvillea-clad walls to the Arabic portico and arches of the cloisters. There are also concerts in summer and regular art exhibitions: contact the tourist office for tickets and information. Cook up a storm of Sorrentine specialties at Tofani cooking school, where you can learn to whip up pasta, ragu and fish dishes like mama used to make. For spectacular views of this iconic coastline, trek some of the 150 miles of trails along the Sorrento and Amalfi coast with a variety of guided hikes.

Superb Luxury Hotel

The room was lovely, the service was verging on the obsequious and the rooftop bar with views over the bay to Vesuvio was exceptional. Breakfast was outstanding. The balcony to our room did not have any view at all, so probably worth getting a sea view if you want to look out, but it was not really a chore to go up to the roof.

Beautiful Hotel

This is an amazing hotel located in the center of Sorrento. Easy to walk everywhere and the staff is welcoming and informative. The rooms are pristine and everything was well maintained. The breakfast had tons of options as well. Would stay here again, highly recommend.

The time of my life!

Just returned from a vacation to Italy end of October. The Grand Hotel La Favorita was the highlight of my trip. Everything from the fabulous rooftop pool and restaurant as well as the hotel staff it was just amazing. I have been a world traveler of 35 plus years and this has been the best experience I ever had. The hotel rooms are the cleanest I have ever seen and the location can not be beat. Walking distance to the square and Marina Grande as well as many shops and restaurants. I want to thank Mario and his hotel staff for a wonderful stay!

Amazing property

My wife and I stayed here for six nights in early October as part of an anniversary trip to Italy. By far the best hotel we stayed in, rooms were large, luxurious and spotless. Our room was close to the rooftop terrace which provided a stunning view of the Amalfi Coast and was a great place to start the day with coffee or end it with a cocktail.
Breakfast buffet included in the room was just terrific. Originally chose the hotel because of its location and was not disappointed, a quick walk to all Sorrento has to offer as well as the pier where you catch the ferries. Entire staff was terrific but I must single out Valentina, who went above and beyond the call of duty. My wife had been trying to complete by phone the purchase of a handbag she saw in Rome, and was having no success. She jumped in to help with the language barrier making several phone calls and exchanging numerous emails with the store in Rome until the purchase was complete. Thank you so much, I hope the hotel management reads this and gives you a raise because you certainly deserve it.
We will definitely be back!,,

Stunning Perfection

What a truly stunning hotel in a beautiful location. From the minute we arrived we felt the warmth and friendliness of the reception staff. We were escorted to our beautiful room and after settling in went to explore the hotel. The entire hotel is incredible. Our room was immaculate and well maintained with everything you could hope for including a kettle which in Italy is not a ‘normal’ thing. Having a cup tea in our room was the best, not that we spent long in our room with so much to see in Sorrento. The entire hotel is stunning and I couldn’t find fault in anything or anyone. The entire staff need to be congratulated. One of the lovely waiters Nello who helped to make our stay so wonderfully memorable and the concierge and management staff who helped us when our transfer did not arrive will all be remembered for their thoughtfulness and kindness in what could have been a stressful situation. Our only complaint was that we didn’t stay longer!! We would definitely recommend and return if we could 😁
