How to Get There
After the hustle and bustle of Sorrento town square, you come across an OASIS this hotel is magnificent, its views are beautiful the hotel itself must be on everyones bucket list when in Italy. After last being at this hotel 25 years ago it has retained its charm and elegance.Staff and service are perfect. The rooms are fairly spacious and classicaly Italian.Food in all the restaurants were a gastronomical delight especially its michelin starred one, however the l'orangerie needs some form of air-con in the summer it becomes rather hot and uncomfortable. The swimming pool is a good size and we never had any problems in finding deck chairs. The gym although small was packed with all equipment needed and the spa service was amazing. There was a lift personal to the hotel which took you down to the mini beach. The hotel is located in the most perfect location with everything on its door step but it was secluded and quiet.
It will be the third year that my mother and I have celebrated our birthdays at the Excelsior Vittoria. I can honestly say that there is nowhere else that we would want to spend our birthdays. The hotel and its grounds are truly magnificent, an oasis of calm from the bustling Sorrento.
The terrace with its stunning views over Naples and Mount Vesuvius is perfect for having an aperatif at sunset whilst listening to the beautiful melodies of the pianist. It is truly magical. We have tried different rooms during our stays and all were furnished to a high standard but I particularly recommend those with a sea view. Perhaps what stands out the most at this wonderful hotel is the service which is impeccable. We feel like a part of the family when we see the same staff each year we return. They address us by our names, take time to speak with us and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Having dined several times at the Terrazza Bosquet, I can say that it is simply wonderful! There is such a high standard of food and service making it very deserving of its Michelin star. Many of the dishes have a theatrical element, which is thoroughly entertaining (I won't spoil the surprise!). This combined with the spectacular views from the restaurant terrace makes for an exceptional evening.
The Excelsior Vittoria is a very special hotel and my benchmark for other hotels. Even my fiancé struggles to find hotels that can match it when we travel to other destinations. Bravo to the team and we look forward to seeing you next year!
If you believe you deserve a luxury treat this is the place. The staff can not do enough for you. Every thing you want is here including an excellent Michelin restaurant where we had an excellent dinner. The views over the bay are stunning and the entrance is into the centre of Sorrento. Sorrento itself has numerous places to eat you just need to be careful of the drivers as there doesn’t appear any indication which way they are going so driving here is not for the faint hearted
