Where to start with the superlatives ? Nothing is too much for the staff from the front of house to the restaurants to the Spa. The food under the direction of Chef Enzo David is well worth its Michelin Star. You are truly made to feel welcome. The Hotel does not look very special from the outside, however once you enter it is a different world. Marble, polished wood, a mix of Italian, French and Asian furnishings. Rooms are well appointed and spotless. The Spa is ultra modern with everything you could wish for. An indoor mineral pool, an outdoor roof top conventional pool. There are two restaurants, a comfortable bar with indoor and outdoor seating (Try an Old Cuban....) and a bistro by the roof top pool. This is a 5 star Hotel with service and food to match. Recommended without reservation, this is a special place.

Above and beyond

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for my 30th birthday. The hotel was beautiful and we were made to feel so special, on arrival we had refreshments and a tour of hotel. The lady who welcomed us was delightful!!! She was so friendly and very happy to ask all the questions we had about the island (can’t remember her name but she was German) SHE WAS FAB!
We didn’t intend on eating at the restaurant in the hotel but after seeing the menu we thought it was a must!
The staff in the restaurant were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, they were so attentive but without being intrusive. We had the best meal we had all holiday here!
Breakfast was also lovely- a few reviews on here said there wasn’t a lot of options and wasn’t diversity. I disagree completely, there was something for everyone and so much of it!
The second day was my birthday and After breakfast the porter brought up a trolley with a cake and bottle of champagne on it with a lovely card from the hotel (my parents had arranged for this but they said the communication and helpfulness of the whole team at the hotel made it so easy)
As we had had such a lovely meal the first night we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant a second night. When we came down for dinner the whole restaurant team welcomed us and wished me a happy birthday which I thought was such a lovely touch!!
I don’t eat fish (my boyfriend does and he was in his element! As there was so much to choice from) but the waiter suggested a gnocchi and pumpkin with walnuts for me, which wasn’t on the menu, but they made for me.... it was insanely good!! (Even better than the first night!)

The hotel seemed very quiet but maybe cause it’s so big. We enjoyed the spa facilities and used the pool twice - we were the only ones in it!

We hired a scooter to explore the island which concierge arranged for us and made it easy to pick up and drop off. We had it for the whole day/eve for €35
The hotel also provided a shuttle (a private car, as it was just us!) to take us to their beach! We were provided with a beach bag, two towels and flip flops from the hotel! When we got the beach didn’t have to que and got escorted to two beds which were reserved for the hotel guest! the beach was lovely, and the sea so clear!

I have never written a review on trip advisor but the staff at this hotel we felt went above and beyond. Everyone was so courteous and friendly which just made our whole visit wonderful.
The hotel itself was beautiful and everything was very well done and to a high standard.
I can’t thank the staff enough for making my birthday and our stay so special and memorable!

Great Hotel - So So Location
JFSD

This is a lovely hotel - if it were located on the water it would be a home run.

Room: The room was well appointed, our had 2 balconies and a large bathroom. In the room was a canvas beach bag for the beach or pool with towels and flip flops. This was a nice and much appreciated touch.

Concierge/Front Desk: We asked them to make reservations for us several times, call tour operators when we could not and they assisted us in renting a car. Staff was always accommodating.

Pool: The pool is on the roof and while very nice was in my opinion, too small. Because the beach is at least a 15 minute car ride away, the pool is used more than a hotel on or near the water may be used.

Breakfast: Breakfast is perhaps the most talked about aspect of the reviews for this hotel. Generally speaking, the opinion is that the breakfast could be better for the calibre of hotel. After 4 nights, and 4 breakfasts I have to agree that while the breakfast is adequate, this hotel should strive for fantastic. A few things to note: you can order a hot breakfast and fresh squeezed Orange juice. The juice on the buffet is bottled or boxed, but the wait staff will bring you fresh squeezed from the kitchen if you ask. Also, I saw several guests request pancakes or french toast from the kitchen, this is clearly not advertised but also available.

Location: For me this was the most disappointing aspect of the hotel. It is nowhere near the water and the beach the hotel guests have access to is easily 15 - 20 minutes away. While there is a hotel shuttle you have to reserve it in advance and it is a one way only. if you drive to the beach you have to pay to park. As a side note I don't think there is a "perfect" location on this island. Most of the hotels that have good water access are not 5 star and although many of them looked great you would have to know which ones they were in advance.

Car: We rented a car only after arriving at the hotel and realizing that the shuttle would not be adequate for our stay. We rented a car through the front desk for 45 Euros/day and it was an easy hassle free process.

Overall Impression: I really liked this hotel but given that it was not near the beach and this was an island the hotel needed to have more robust offerings by way of transportation and amenities.
