Overview

Liberty-style villa with a residential feel, located close to Capri’s Marina Grande

The Lowdown

Designed in the ornate Liberty style in 1906, this 11-room boutique was once a Fin de Siecle hub for artists and intellectuals, and the hotel continues to lure aristo-intellectual types, especially during its annual “Conversazioni al tramonto” salon of conversations about social issues. For everyone else, the action is all about the terrace garden, with its pool-Jacuzzi, sun loungers and corners for alfresco massages – not to mention those heart-stopping views over the Bay of Naples. The central location means many of the island’s attractions – the bustling Piazzatta (or main square), the beach clubs, the glitzy boutiques – are all within strolling distance.

In the Area

Get into passeggiata mode, pronto, because preening and promenading are some of the favored pastimes on this enchanted isle. Hit the Piazzetta (offically known as Piazza Umberto I) in Capri town to watch the world go by over gelato or aperitifs at the square’s oldest bar, Al Piccolo, then head to dinner at celebrity-magnet pizza joint Villa Verde. Get in some beach time at comely Lido lo Smeraldo, where you can also dine on fresh-caught seafood – the hotel arranges free shuttles to the beach.

Superb accomodations and service from arrival through departure!

We were met at the port by one of the hotel drivers and whisked seamlessly right to the hotel in one of the large and comfortable hotel vehicles which were available with a driver to drop us off in town and pick us up pretty much any time. A welcome drink and snack were waiting there for us when we arrived, courtesy of Mr. Peppe, an individual who not only did everything possible to make our stay comfortable, but proved to be an excellent source of advice for how to get the most out of our visit. In fact, everyone of the staff that we encountered were friendly, courteous, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Our room was spacious, meticulously cleaned and well appointed. The view was spectacular. There is a lovely beach club available to hotel guests, but as we arrived in early October it was a little cool for the beach. It was just right for the Jacuzzi though! In short, our stay at the Villa Excelsior Parco was a fabulous and memorable experience. We hope to return one day!

Gorgeous room, the works. The staff is incredibly welcoming and warm. Special shout out to Peppe.

Great location, shuttle service was helpful. Not much more you could ask for. We will return.

We only stayed one night at Excelsior Parco but wish we'd extended our trip with them. The staff was incredible and SO accommodating (especially their food and beverage manager, Peppe!). He welcomed us with wine and appetizers upon arrival and surprised us by leaving a complimentary bottle of wine in our room when we went out for dinner. The rest of the staff did an excellent job making our stay comfortable, from helping us make our dinner reservations, to explaining the lay of the land to us, and even letting us bring their complimentary cell phone on our outing in case we needed to call for their driver. That's the other great thing about this hotel - they provide a complimentary "shuttle" service to and from the main shopping area. Except by "shuttle", it's basically a personal driver who's incredibly friendly and very punctual. We never waited more than 5 min for our driver to arrive downtown to pick us up. Very, very friendly staff and a beautiful property. We will definitely make our way back to Capri and will definitely be staying at Excelsior Parco again.
