How to Get There
Great food, hotel and beaches, surfing was only good for a few days during my visit.Place has a good feel all round. We took our kids with us and they had a blast too. The hotel has decent board rentals if you don't wanna drag boards along. Love that place
We were invited to this beautiful and peaceful place. Enjoyed a great lunch and admired the serene atmosphere here.
The dishes are varied and the freshest produce has been used. I ordered a fabulous salad. For me it was more than enough for an excellent lunch. The staff is attentive as well.
Hope to return soon to this charming place.
Good rooms with independent gardens and outdoor showers (as well as usual indoor stuff). Also famous juice bar, top yoga and very close to beach and shops in town. Would stay here again. Pool looking a little run-down but overall vibe very relaxed and not about luxury.
I stayed at the Harmony in the two bedroom suite the end of April 2018 and absolutely loved this place and can't wait to go back again! The drive from LIR was about 2 hours and yes, it's bumpy on the gravel roads for most of the trip but totally worth it to get to this gem of a place! The room we booked (a 2 bed suite) was incredibly spacious - basically two rooms with a bathroom that connects the two with a little entry area. It was perfect for me and my friend to have our privacy. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The staff were always there to clean promptly each day. YES! you are in the jungle people! So there are definitely lots of mosquitos and bugs OUTSIDE but they provide you with free bug spray so use it and you'll be just fine. I never saw any bug problem anywhere on the property. This is a boutique style hotel with THE BEST staff. They were so super friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast included in our rate and it was really nice to be able to just order off the menu vs. some big buffet like you see at other larger hotels. The yoga classes are great and in a gorgeous outdoor space with beautiful wood floors. The aerial yoga was a bit painful (for me and I work out and do hot yoga all the time!) so just beware you'll be trying something definitely different so you will want to be in shape for a class like that. I had THREE massages and the therapists were THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! And I have had massages at places all over the world - Bali, NYC, LA, France, you name it I have done every massage there is and the therapists were so good. They also know sports therapy so that was helpful for me given I work out a lot. We surfed twice (my 3rd time ever) and the waves were all sizes at various points at the beach so it was perfect for all levels (at the time we were there). It is true this is DEFINITELY NOT a beach where you lay out and have a frozen cocktail like in Hawaii. This is a rustic beach and very beautiful to surf, swim (but have to be careful of the currents), take a nice walk along, watch the sunset. You can have your kids there to play the sand, etc. but it's not really that type of beach. I was worried about this aspect because I love a good beach and go to Hawaii all the time, but they have a gorgeous pool which served that lay out and chill purpose. You just have to get there a little on the early side to get a lounge chair because there aren't that many but honestly it was not a problem really. There weren't that many people there (it was almost off-season though keep in mind). Everyone said the food for dinner at the Harmony's hotel is really some of the best in the area and they were not kidding. It was delicious and I am so glad we went one night. We also loved the juice bar and had lunch there and snacks all the time. They even have gluten free options. We also ate across the street at the Mexican restaurant which was fun and had live music the night we arrived and was very lively. We also loved La Luna - the restaurant spot on the beach for sunset dinner. WOW, what a cool place. Like a little house with a back porch on one of the most beautiful little cove beaches. Everyone there was having a good time. We also loved walking up the street from the hotel during the day to grab a coffee and visit the local shops but literally there are like 6 stores. It's so quaint and cute. We didn't venture out beyond the town much and we were there for 4 days! I thought we wouldn't have much to do but that is the point. It really is a great place to relax and disconnect. Read a book, do yoga, get a massage, eat and drink. Enjoy life! What a great place. I cannot highly recommend it enough.
We were excited to go here having heard f on several friends and trusted boutique hotel sites that this is “the place to stay” in Nosara. Spoiler alert: it was not.
It is marketed as 70s design charm and luxury. It is actually just from the 70s, no design in the rooms, scratchy old furniture.
The rooms were dark, dismal and full of bugs, the air conditioning didn’t work, the bathrooms were old with plastic windows.
The grounds are in a be jungle and kind of cool but not well kept. I went to a yoga class that I had to leave because I was eaten alive from the bugs.
Anyway we decided to check out and go back to the Gilded Iguana which is $100 less a night and 100x as nice. Best decision ever.
