With commanding views of Italy’s legendary Lake Garda, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence-winning Hotel Olivi Thermae & Natural Spa, on the Sirmione peninsula, begins the inspiration as soon as you arrive. Here, you can simply relax and recharge, whether that’s by admiring the uplifting scenery or splashing out on the naturally rejuvenating treatments on offer in the spa, which is fed by the world-famous Sirmione thermal waters.
Big blue awnings shade the private balcony of your room if the sun gets too much, but we think you won’t want to take your eyes off the awe-inspiring vistas. Closer to home, you can wander through the ancient olive trees in the gardens or lounge with a good book on a sofa in one of numerous terraces and lounges. Ristorante Degli Olivi offers healthy fare alongside indulgent Italian dishes, covering all your hunger bases.
Individually decorated in understated romantic fashion, Classic rooms are homey and comfortable. En-suite bathrooms come with a tub or shower, vanity set, hair dryer, robe and slippers.
Ristorante Degli Olivi is open year-round and offers fine Italian and international dining in elegant surroundings, complemented by an extensive wine list. Two additional restaurants are only open in the summer months.
The Natural Spa is a destination in itself, with a swimming pool fed by the Sirmione thermal waters, sitting at an inviting 36 degrees. The indoor saltwater pool enjoys the same balmy temperature, and there’s also a sauna and steam bath. Massages with essences of your choice, from white musk to chocolate, are among the treatments on offer.
The main draw here is experiencing the curative properties of the thermal waters of Sirmione, but there’s much more to enjoy. Wander the narrow streets of Sirmione’s old town, with its quaint shops, or visit the Grottoes of Catallus close by. Golf lovers will be pleased to know that the hotel offers discounts to the nearby Arzaga and Chervo golf clubs. There are numerous tours that can be arranged from the hotel. The closest is a visit to the Verona Amphitheater, one of the greatest and best conserved Roman monuments. Or you could go to Venice, take a coach tour along the Gardesana (one of Europe’s most impressive roads), embark on a twilight Lake Garda cruise on a wooden ketch, savor the region’s bounty with a wine tour – the list goes on…
How to Get There
We visited the restaurant (we were not residents of the hotel) and the service was amazing. High quality food with great presentation
Would recommend for a quality meal in the evening. And a cocktail or two
We had a great two week holiday at this wonderful hotel in superior room 244. The spa is now free every day and the pool area is still superb with a great whirlpool. There were always plenty of comfortable sunbeds and the free coffee and cakes on an afternoon is a welcome treat.
The hotel is in the quiet part of Sirmione and has some lovely walks to the nearby San Pietro church and the two main beaches yet it’s just a short walk to the ferry point and the hustle and bustle.
The half board food was of a high quality and had a lot of choices on a fixed menu which changes every two weeks. There is another menu with three courses and it changes every day. They do great French Fries or chips if you ask. I wasn’t too keen on some grown men wearing shorts for the evening meal but both indoor and outdoor restaurants are very good.
The hotel has removed the iconic blue shutters on the rooms but other than that, nothing much has changed since our last visit. Top marks.
Excellent hotel and staff with the restaurant staff particularly attentive. Initially concerned that we had a king room at the rear of the hotel but not to worry .The room was high quality, impeccably serviced and quiet. The location (112) was particularly welcome later in the day. After a Active hot day a cool room was a joy. Breakfast was relaxed and ample with a comprehensive choice. Though booked B&B,we did take some evening meals the standard an quality of which were equally of a high standard. Definitely a hotel for a future visit
