How to Get There
We love travelling around Italy and Tuscany is one of our favourite areas. We have been to Siena and Florence as well as San Gimigiano and Montepulciano. Having visited Loro Ciufenna we now rate this in our top three places in Tuscany and Dimora Casa Eugenia as one of the best places we have stayed in. If you are after tranquility then this fits the bill. We loved the fact that the B&B was close to two good restaurants as well as the Central Cafe in the square. A very good cafe overlooked the valley and served excellent coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Casa Eugenia and the help we received from our friendly hosts. Breakfasts were also very good and the room very comfortable with nice thick towels.
My friend and I booked this hotel via Verychic and it was one of the best deals we made for our roadtrip in Tuscany. The hotel might be a bit confusing to find according to GPS indications but once you do, I'm sure you'll love it as much as we did. Despite having modern installations, it has retained a certain old charm. The rooms are nice and the staff was extremely friendly. They did not hesitate to suggest worthwhile attractions in Tuscany and were always at our disposal should we have needed something.
Casa Eugenia is well situated in Loro Ciuffena, a great jump off point for visiting many of the well known towns in Tuscany. The hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owners, Francesca and Carlo were both friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our first time staying here. We were part of a group of twelve friends celebrating a 70th birthday. Francesca and her husband could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The rooms are sizeable and beds very comfy. Mini bars in rooms but this is only available as a B & B and so no toiletries, just for information. We always carry our own and so it was no problem. Throughout our 3 night stay we were made to feel at home. The breakfast is a buffet style and you can pay a few euros extra for cooked food such as boiled eggs or fresh orange juice. The test is always would we stay again and that's an easy one to answer, very definitely YES! The village and surrounding countryside is beautiful. If you're wanting lots of things to do then this probably isn't for you but if you want some peace and quiet in a typical Tuscan hamlet this is a must. Parking is in the large free car park and you have a walk of about 2-3 mins to the hotel. If you struggle with stairs then this is not for you as there is no lift.
We've stayed at Dimora Casa Eugenia before, and we decided to stay for a night on our way to Sardegna; not because it was on the route we travelled, but because the detour is so well worth it. Loro Ciuffena itself is a nice place to visit, as is the Chianti and the nearby cities - but if you want to treat yourself, enjoy the hospitality of Francesca and Carlos. Each room has its own colour assigned, and they are all pretty (we stayed in several over the years). The breakfast is just delicious and the owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
We will definetly be back...
