Mellow, waterfront resort with a pool, swim-up bar and lively happy hour scene
Set on the northeastern tip of Providenciales away from famed Grace Bay, Blue Haven Resort’s sugar-sand beach fronts calm azure waters and is adjacent to the property’s eponymous marina. One- two- and three-bedroom suites are contemporary and airy and feature kitchens with cherry wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Head outside to enjoy the infinity edge pool (complete with a swim-up bar) or lounge with a good read in one the hammocks strung between two palm trees. Active types will enjoy the volleyball, beach tennis and horseshoes courts, while those looking for a lively happy hour scene (with killer drink specials) should make a beeline to SALT Bar & Grill. Also located onsite is a spa and Fire & Ice Restaurant, which serves contemporary Caribbean fare.
In the Area
Swing your clubs at the Provo Golf Club, the challenging and beautifully landscaped course is the only one in Turks and Caicos (look out for flamingos in the lakes). Hungry? Hit Da Conch Shack, which, while a bit on the touristy side, is a must for mollusk-lovers with such offerings as conch salad, conch fritters, conch chowder and more. Or, ditch your pool lounger and trot along Long Bay beach on horseback; it’s one of the best ways to take in the backdrop of white sand and turquoise water. Riders of all skill levels can participate; long pants are strongly suggested.
