The Lowdown

If you’re looking for a minimalist-chic sleep with cutting-edge interiors and luxe features aplenty, these brand new boutique digs are rather hard to top. Best of all, they make an ideal base for exploring Parga – the postcard-perfect coastal town set in the mountainous region of Epirus, in the far north-western corner of mainland Greece.
Style-lovers have a lot to look forward to at this tiny four-star gem with just 11 rooms – three of which are suites. There’s a saturation of gleaming all-white décor everywhere you look, cleverly matched with soft lighting, lavish fabrics, and thoughtful extras such as pillow menus, coffee machines and anatomic mattresses.
With a mission to ensure guests check in and zone out, everything here will ease you into holiday mode. There’s a dedicated meditation area surrounded by olive trees that overlooks the small outdoor pool, a stylish bar for day-to-night refreshments, and a high-level of service that comes with being such an intimate property. It’s no wonder this property won the New Luxury Hotel of the Year title at the 2016 Luxury Travel Guide Global Awards.

Short of expectations
Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. The experience was dissapointing. Although the personnel were very polite, helpful and accommodating, when I called to book and ask a few questions about the hotel location, the view, etc, they failed to mentioned that the olive groves were obstructed by a house that was getting built exactly across from our balcony and construction was from eight in the morning tilll eight in the evening! Also, surprisingly, the hotel doesn’t have phones so you can’t call reception. You either have to call them from your cell phone, which if you live abroad or overseas like I do, can get very expensive, or walk down the stairs and search for them, which I ended up doing every morning to order our coffees. We never had breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that but coffee was cold and watered down. Water pressure was good if no other guests in other rooms were taking a shower, otherwise pressure was weak and the temperature was oscillating between cold and hot. The bed and matress were excellent but not so the pillows, which were too fat and lumpy. The tv, was way too small and placed way too high. The room was clean but quite spare. The common areas though were tastefully decorated as was the pool area. The bar was really non existent, not stocked to serve as a bar, but used as a place to serve breakfast. We will not be returning.

"Wonderful 2nd visit"

This was our 2nd visit to Racconto, it was like going back home...a friendly welcome from the small number of staff (but more the adequate).
The pictures on this site are a good reflection of the standard and quality of this hotel. What really makes it is the friendly and helpful staff who are available and so willing to help and ensure your holiday is enjoyable.
The rooms are clean and sufficiently spacious, the reception, pool area and breakfast are well laid out and equally clean. The sunbeds and towels provided are of a good quality and well-maintained.
Location is good only a 10min walk from the resort centre, beach and restaurants. It is a pleasant walk but be aware the last 400m is up a very steep incline.

We do not tend to return to the same resort or hotel, but this was our 2nd visit and would definitely go again.

Just wonderful from start to finish!

My family and I have just spent a fabulous week at this hotel. From check in til check out the service and personal touch we received from all the staff particularly the two girls Stella and Areti was superb. We stayed in suite 2 which had the most exceptional facilities ,great quality contemporary fixtures and fittings and throughout our stay was kept wonderfully clean. No hotel is to everyone's tastes but we can honestly say we loved every minute here and would revisit time and time again given the opportunity! If peace and quiet, luxury surroundings and that small hotel vibe is for you don't hesitate just book........you won't regret it !

Week's September holiday at Parga

The staff are extremely attentive to your every need and this began before we flew out. They helped us with detailed information of the location as we were driving from Aktion Airport. The rooms and facilities are excellent and I would highly recommend this hotel. It is easy to walk into Parga, with many restaurants and bars to chose from. There is car parking and we found driving easy with some good day trips out - avoiding the need for a taxi to and from the airport. The staff helped us with maps and information.

Lovely boutique hotel

We booked this hotel as it was adults only. The other guests were in couples rather than in groups so it was very peaceful. There are only 11 rooms so the number of guests around at any one time means that you almost feel like you are staying in a private villa rather than a hotel. The pool, bar area (where you also have breakfast, lunch and an evening meal) is lovely. The attention to detail and keeping the place in good order makes this a great hotel to stay for a relaxing break.

Breakfast was very nice. We could done with more variety on the lunch time snacks though as there was not much choice.

The white leather sunbeds are amazing and very comfortable. We felt that there should have been a few more as sometimes it seemed that there were not enough for all the guests that wanted one. Also the umbrellas could have been bigger to provide more shade.

The rooms are minimalist but that is the style of the hotel but they are spacious and well designed with everything you need. They are also kept very clean and well stocked. We had a suite which was nice as it has a sitting room and a private garden.

The staff are amazing and could not do enough for you and will organise everything for you. Again as it was such a small hotel you got to know all the staff and they knew who you were and what you had been up to that day. Stella and Areti were superb.

The walk into town is a casual walk of about 15 minutes or so. The walk back can be challenging particularly when hot or late in the evening but taxis are easy to come by and are only 5 euros. The walk back on the main road is not too bad but it is the last bit on the side road up to the hotel which is steep.

Be warned if you are with a tour company and you get transferred from the airport by coach. They will drop you off on the bottom of the side road then you will have to walk up this steep road with your luggage and probably in the heat of the day as well. Fortunately we had booked a taxi which took us to the reception door but some other guests got caught out by this.

Parga has many restaurants and bars so most guests go out in the evening so while you can have an evening meal at the hotel not many guests did.

Parga is amazing - great scenery and plenty to do and we will go back and hopefully to the Racconto.
