On the Malay Peninsula, 120 miles south of Bangkok, V Villas Hua Hin is a luxe resort where each of the 13 villas has a private pool and butler service comes standard. The brainchild of celebrated Parisian architects J&H Boiffils, this sleek retreat is inspired by the geometric shapes of rice paddies and the bold lines of Italian palazzos. The spacious one- and two-bedroom villas occupy lush beachside plots and are decked out with wood floors and Midcentury-style furniture, and they all feature modern kitchens and Bose entertainment systems. The bathrooms are finished in honey-colored marble and have walk-in rain showers and Jacuzzis. Named the best restaurant in Thailand in Thai Tatler’s 2013 guide, Villazzo serves an appealing mishmash of Thai and Italian cuisine and an impressive selection of wines. The property can arrange activities such as an elephant ride through a local vineyard, or a guided hike to the nearby Pala U waterfall. Or you can de-stress with a soothing Thai Boran Herbal Compress and accompanying massage at V Spa.
In the Area
Hua Hin became popular in the 1920s as a weekend escape for the Thai royal family. Its three-mile white sand beach is perfect for swimming, kayaking or horseback riding, while the town itself is renowned for its wide variety of upscale seafood restaurants. The resort’s concierge will help you set up an excursion to Hua Hin Hills Vineyard or an elephant tour of Kaeng Krachan National Park, where you can visit a pineapple plantation, hike a nature trail and bathe in Pala U waterfall’s crystalline waters. Back at the resort, make a beeline for the poolside restaurant, Villazzo, where you can take a Thai cooking class from award-winning local chefs.
How to Get There
Stayed here with friends in 2 bedroom villa,
It was an absolutely relaxing & luxurious stay amazing villas, service & food, the location all perfect in the center of of hua hin .
What else do you need!
Will be back soon!
It is always a treat to come here. Especially with friends. Their two/three bedroom villas are perfect to spend time with a small group of friends. They have recently done some minor renovations just to keep up to date. Its a beautiful property but sets it apart is my butler. K. Pai the butler has looked after me a few stays. He really goes beyond of what is required and ensure we are looked after every step. We went out for water activity and found on our return the bath tubs to be filled and warm. K. Pai is extremely polite and courteous. He really should be commended for providing the party and myself such service. He always recognise me even with my absence from the property for a few years. Amazing. I hope he gets all the commandment he deserves!
For family intended to have a really good rest and bonding, this is a perfect place. The villa with pool has nice space inside, and the living room is comfortable for family activities and the selection for food for dining inside the hotel is rich and in general, all cooked quite well so there is really no big reason to go outside the hotel - unless for exploring local lives. The room is comfortable, well connected, and just steps away from the sand beach which occasionally can see people riding the horse on the beach, we did not try. Day time in Thailand in any month can be quite hot, but there is a pool inside the private villa, and there is a pool right next to the beach.
We are currently staying at V Villas (villa number 17). Let me start by saying that it is a five star property but the with three star service. I always believe it is best to let management know if there’s a problem whilst staying at the property as opposed to after the event however, having asked to speak to the manager at 10:30 this morning, three hours later he is yet to be found. In any event, it would be nice if he made an appearance without asking and introduced himself to his guests.
As soon as we arrived at the property, other than a security guard, there was no one to greet us, let alone to bring our luggage inside. Instead, the security guard pointed at the entrance and told us to move our luggage. No welcome drink, no manager to greet us but we did get a flower... pretty though it was, not that useful after a 3 hour drive and certainly not in keeping with a five star resort.
As I have said, the property is very pretty however they would do well to clean it up better. The floor boards by the pool are all over the place and if wet, you will slip! I accept that we are here at the particularly windy time however there is no excuse for Old and decaying plants everywhere. Further the beach by the property is full of litter. We keep picking bits up but really and truly the hotel should have pride in their surrounding even if it is a public beach.
You are provided with your own butler and as sweet as they are, the butlers as well as all staff lack initiative either that or they can’t cope with more than one guest as a time (despite having a phone to directly call them - which is a nice touch but it would be better for them to think ahead!)
The villas get ‘cleaned’ but empty mugs will be left and not replace or glasses taken away and not replaced. Empty bottles or just their lids stay on the sides, throw pillows remain on the floor, complimentary cookies don’t get replaced, dirty cutlery is left, ashtrays don’t get emptied and you are permitted with one towel per guest! Nobody seems to think ahead or do their jobs properly... it is half hearted (not to mention someone else’s. As a side note there are so many light switches in the bedroom you have no idea what turn something on or off...in the end I had to sleep with the lights on. Lucky they provide a nice eye mask.
Breakfast, the actual food is okay but despite numerous staff available, nobody asks if you would like a cup of coffee or thinks to remove any dirty plates from the table or give you new cutlery. This is not to say that they are not lovely, because they are however they clearly missed their training.
There is also a service that allows you to ring an ‘egg’ for attention while sitting by the pool/beach side - nice idea - however trying to get one of these in the first place is something nobody has the foresight to explain.
I would also like to add, it is madness that a 5* hotel does not serve any rosé wine and the alternative is to ‘go to blue point and buy it yourself’. Also, as pretty as the water is by the tables, kids should not be allowed to swim in those pools with guests eating.
We are at the pool restaurant for the next hour if you would like to come and speak to us.
Booked a 5D4N stay here after reading alot of reviews about this place. Upon arrival, I certainly did not regret making this choice.
Was shown to the villa by my personal butler, Tan. Throughout the trip, she was a really great help and services arranged by her were prompt and in order.
Facilities in the room were well-maintained & the daily turn down service in the evening made it a wonderful experience to always return to a clean & tidy room. Complimentary high tea & snack are always delivered promptly to the room on a daily basis. Beds are comfy, even the sofa in the living room is big and inviting.
The in-house restaurant also served fantastic meals. Had lunch on first day & room service on the 2nd night and all foods ordered were really awesome.
Staff where all friendly and approachable. Encounter their room cleaning attendant, their restaurtant staff, front counter staff & even to their guards, they were all smiles & ready to assist.
Only thing to improve is the breakfast offering, personal feel is that the menu does not differ a lot for their buffet breakfast so staying for an extended period of time & having the same food tends to get a litltle boring..
